Contribution to the Prize Pool (bmjc98)
If you are an active user on read.cash, you must have read or seen the article about the Chess/Scrabble Tournament that @bmjc98 wants to organise.
Didn't you see it?
Well, you can see it here.
Chess/Scrabble Tournament Update
To summarise, the tournament is free to participate. However, donations to increase the prize pool are welcome and are especially important at the beginning.
Since the tournament is still in the design phase, there may be some minor changes. Updates may be made after the tournament is launched and the results of the trial/error method in the following rounds. All this is under the organisation and control of @bmjc98 .
If you already want to participate and donate some amount, you can make your submissions to the bch wallet address in the article.
Do not be hesitant about submissions such as less / more, even 0.01 dollar bch will be proof of your generosity of contribution and your effort to add salt to the soup.
''A drop of water becomes a lake.''
It is worth repeating; Participation in the games in the tournament is free, the more players, the more fun there will be.
Another way for those who want to contribute to the prize pool is to write an article about the tournament and leave it under @bmjc98's control, with all proceeds going to the prize pool.
This article will be written for the tournament and all proceeds (max $10) will be released to bmjc98 72 hours after publication. For the sake of transparency, I will make the submission to @bmjc98's last article of the day for everyone to see.
So, don't be afraid, hit the tip buttons hard!
Here are the games players can choose from to participate in the tournament;
In the future, there may be a decrease / increase in interest in the games. These are additional rules that are at the discretion of the tournament organiser depending on the interest of the participants.
I invite everyone who has time for a good interaction and fun-filled time to participate in the tournament. In addition, 10% of the money collected in the prize pool will be used for charity, which is one of everyone's conscientious responsibilities. This aspect alone makes it attractive to contribute to the prize pool.
I have interesting memories of the selected games of draughts and chess. Those who know Turkish culture also know the coffeehouse culture here. To have fun there, we used to organise nightly checkers tournaments with our circle of friends and other people who came to the coffeehouse. We used to apply reward and punishment at the same time, such as offering 1 month of free tea to the winner and making the losers pay for all the tea drunk in the coffeehouse that night.
Since the average participant was 8 - 10 people, there was a fine line between being the winner and being one of the losers. With the hustle and bustle of life and the responsibilities of growing up, I cannot do similar activities, but I still miss them when I remember.
My memory of chess dates back to my primary school days. When my teacher explained the pieces and the rules to me, I found it very strange. At that time, I only knew checkers and the tasks of the pieces and the progress of the game were very different from checkers. What I found most strange was that the game ended as soon as the king was taken.
So why should I bother taking other pieces? I should aim directly at the king. These thoughts simply did not materialise when the game started... but nevertheless I have always adopted an attacking strategy.
First I would clear the way for my king and queen, giving them room to move, then I would bring both knights forward and aim directly at the opponent's king. My knights were protected by bishops and rooks. I would always offer the opponent the option of losing one of his precious pieces in exchange for taking my knight. All this would cause me to either lose the game quickly or win it quickly. I don't remember any of my games lasting long, but for similar reasons it has been a long time since I played chess.
I very rarely play backgammon during home visits, but since we do that in between chats and tea, it doesn't take up any extra time.
I must reiterate an important caveat: The proceeds of this article, up to $10, will be left in the control of @bmjc98 .
And the article was written for the Chess/Scrabble Tournament.
And 10% of the prize pool will be used to fulfil our important responsibilities.
You can participate in the tournament for free, you can support the prize pool in several ways, and you can contribute 10% to what I consider to be an important donation.
This way you kill more than one bird with one stone. Fun and interaction are the giveaways of the tournament.
I wish success to the organisers and good luck and good fun to those who will participate.
