Conscience!

Our conscience is an internal movement that allows us to judge ourselves, to question ourselves, and to understand whether what we do is good or bad, based on our behavior, moral values, family education and other factors. It is a way of reckoning with ourselves. It occurs mostly in the degree of regret. When we put our head on the pillow, we make an account of our life that day and evaluate ourselves conscientiously. As in a saying that I remember anonymously; “There is no softer pillow than a clear conscience.”

Conscience has no language, religion, race or nationality, it is an innate control mechanism imposed on people of all classes. If we do not ache in any situation, if we do not have tears in our eyes, if an uncomfortable feeling does not cover our hearts, we should not delay in questioning ourselves. It may be an indication that stains are beginning to form on our conscience.

Conscience settles in both our body and soul as soon as our body and soul begin to exist. In this respect, we can say that our body and soul are the same as our age. Just as our body and soul need nourishment, so does our conscience. It should stay fresh and under the light so that it does not darken.

A conscientious person does not make any mistakes that are described as wrong in terms of society, religion and moral values knowingly or willingly. If he has had a direct or indirect effect on his doing, he judges himself on his conscience and regrets it excessively. In the normal functioning of the conscience there is always this judgment and self-punishment. At the point of evaluation, it is important that the functioning of conscience is healthy in order to affect the next action of the person and to become a better person.

Lack of conscience is a personality disorder. A person who has no conscience, who has been tainted, who has been damaged, remains almost the same throughout his life. It is difficult for him to change and take control at the point of self-judgment. According to him, everything he does is his own right and is not affected by what is happening around him. He does not feel any remorse except for his own interests, the sadness, grief and negativities of those other than himself do not affect them. Even their behavior towards those for whom they are responsible is ruthless. He can be easily separated from his parents who raised him. They do not care about the difficulties they will experience.

The necessity of spiritual nourishment of the conscience is a need, although not as much as the necessity of nourishing the body. Basic needs such as justice, equality and honesty in society can be obtained by filtering through a healthy conscience. Just as everyone has a broad perspective on freedom of thought and religion, they have the same freedom in freedom of conscience. As our thoughts and beliefs can change, our conscience can change in our functioning. Just as a person of any faith can change his religion over time due to different reasons and factors, changes in the functioning of the conscience can occur. A conscientious person may turn into an unscrupulous person due to a lack of functioning and questioning.

Consciousness plays an important role in the formation and development of values accepted by society and the masses in our personalities. A person who can do good conscience reasoning has a strong instinct to distinguish between right and wrong. This ability has given him conscience and improves his ability to distinguish right from wrong.

No matter where and how we live, as long as we are a conscientious person and meet people with a dominant conscience, every problem will have a solution point. As long as we do not lose, pollute and kill the instinct of conscience, which is one of the important personality organizers!
