Coinbase Wallet Restrictions

I have been following the news from afar that some of the Russian users' accounts are suspended and some are limited, which is one of the measures taken by Coinbase to participate in the sanctions imposed against Russia in the past days.

Since I did not have a chance to test its accuracy, I only saw it as a news compiled from related crypto news.

Almost at the same time as these restrictions, which are said to be for Russian citizens, an app payment I took to my Coinbase wallet was excluded from the options.

Since paypal is not used in my country, I contacted the support unit of the application and asked for Coinbase payments to be activated again or for another crypto currency to be added to the payment methods.

I also suggested BitcoinCash (BCH) as another crypto…

… And I was quite surprised by the response from my proposal.

Hello Sir/Ma'am,

Thank you for your patience so far.

We apologize for any inconvenience that you've experienced regarding the lack of availability for Bitcoin redemptions.

The company we partner with for these redemptions, Coinbase, recently made some changes to the regions where this redemption is available.

Unfortunately, as a result, this redemption is no longer available in your region.

That being said, we do have other redemptions items available that are similar in cost and we are always looking at other options to offer our users the most diverse set of rewards available.

We hope this helps answer your questions and that you have a great rest of your day.

After the Coinbase-related response of the Mode Earn App (current) application, I sent an e-mail to Coinbase and asked for information on whether there was a restriction.

It is very significant that the restrictions for Russian citizens and the restriction I have described here include the same dates.

Since the beginning of 2022, the "learn and earn" section, Coinbase's free earning application, has been closed to us. In this process, while Coinbase users from many different countries benefited from free airdrops, we only watched.

Most of the past years, the learn and win section was not working for my country anyway, but last year Coinbase took a step back by giving up blocking and we were satisfied.

Removing the question mark now will also determine my Coinbase use case.

I think I already know the answer to the e-mail I sent.

''I am sorry! We are unable to provide Coinbase support in your country.”

In this case, I have no choice but to move all my assets from Coinbase!

I think the restriction initiated against Russian citizens puts us (Turkey) in the same category.

In this case, crypto can be seriously injured during the war.

Where crypto was universal and decentralized? It may be important for the future of crypto that crypto users show a common reaction in this process.

Crypto must definitely exceed this stage, which can be restricted if someone wants it. Otherwise, many limitations may be encountered in the future for many reasons.

This may vary depending on the direction of the index finger, whose thoughts and desires the restrictions reflect.

Authorities, who have accused crypto of being used in illegal works until today, have attempted to use crypto in their own illegal works.

There are untold truths. Turkey may ostensibly be a NATO member, but that's the focus of power we're dealing with. NATO, which is apparently a friend but actually our enemy, is an organization founded by a wealthy group that wants to shape and exploit the world as they wish through the United States. Thanks to NATO, this group managed to infiltrate countries. One of the things they do best is infiltrate countries and cause corruption. For example, Gladio. Read today's Ukrainian-Russian struggle from this window. The invasion of Ukraine is a joint operation of the USA (NATO) and Russia. The aim is to put Europe, China and even Turkey in a difficult situation. The Ukrainian war will continue for years, as the target is different. As the war continues, the economic environment they want will be better created. They are trying to re-establish the order they established after the Second World War. Still, the end of NATO has come. The order they established will be destroyed. NATO and the United States will disintegrate. Remember what I wrote here when this happened.

I'm always concerned with what I'm doing myself, not what other people are doing. You will not play the role of an ant among the elephants. If you enter, they will crush you, even if the Ukrainian war is now over, huge cities have been destroyed, the lives of tens of thousands of people have come to an end. Leadership is always looking ahead, not saving the moment!

I have only used Coinbase for like a week or more, but then ended up uninstalling it. I prefer using the other one to store my coins

Coinbase have lots of issues like this from earlier only it says decentralised but sometimes works as a centralised. So I prefer trust wallet for storing my coins, even metamask is a better option.

He does not describe it as a sanction, as against Russia. He sees it as a lack of service. Use restriction only. It does not benefit from airdrops and closes its channels with some payments.

It may be that these restrictions be temporary or permanent. It's good that you have transfer your asset on time

The last I had heard which was a few days ago, Brian Armstrong, the main guy at Coinbase refused to put sanctions against any Russian Citizens stating that the sanctions were only against Putin and fellow leaders, not the citizens. That is unless new sanctions have been issued against the citizens, which I seriously doubt.

As far as a United States company putting sanctions against Turkey Citizens? Turkey is a part of Nato. What are your local governments policies on crypto?

Seems to be a need to develop technology that doesn't rely upon a centralized exchange with a centralized bank to cash out crypto.

The local government does not have a clear stance against crypto. It does not prohibit it, nor does it say it is legal. It's just watching now.

They see this not as a sanction, but as a lack of service. Yes, Turkey is a founding member of Nato.
