The Road to Tomorrow
Kofi sat on a wooden bench under the mango tree in his village, staring at the vast fields of maize stretching toward the horizon. The fields were his life, his family's lifeline, and yet, they were never enough. The African sun blazed down relentlessly, its heat a constant reminder of the hardships he faced every day. At twenty-four, Kofi’s face carried the weight of a man much older, his eyes reflecting years of toil and struggle.
He had grown up in Akuro, a small village tucked away in the rolling hills of Ghana. Life had never been easy here. His father, a farmer, had spent his days working the land, and his mother had done what she could to sell their meager harvest at the market. Despite their efforts, there was never enough money to send all six children to school. Kofi was the eldest, so he sacrificed his education to help his family.
The decision had been made when he was just 13, and while Kofi never complained, a part of him mourned the life he could have had. Every day, he watched his younger siblings walk to school in their tattered uniforms while he stayed behind to tend the crops. He had dreamed of becoming an engineer once, of building things that would change the world. But dreams were a luxury he couldn’t afford.
Now, years later, he was still tied to the same fields, battling the unyielding soil and praying for rain that sometimes never came. Each season brought new challenges — droughts, pests, and the rising cost of fertilizer. The small plot of land couldn’t sustain the family, no matter how hard Kofi worked.
One evening, as he sat in their dimly lit kitchen, his mother spoke. Her voice was heavy with worry.
“Kofi, we need to do something. The money from the last harvest barely paid for your sister’s school fees. The debts are piling up.”
Kofi nodded silently. He knew this already. The weight of his family’s struggles was always on his shoulders.
“I’ll go to the city,” he said after a long pause.
“The city?” his mother asked, her eyes widening. “Kofi, life in the city is not easy. You’ve heard the stories. People go there and…”
“I know, Mama. But what choice do we have? I’ll find work and send money home. It’s the only way.”
His mother’s face was a mixture of fear and reluctant hope. She knew he was right.
The next morning, Kofi packed his few belongings into a small bag. His siblings gathered around him, their young faces filled with admiration and sadness. He hugged them tightly, promising to return soon. His father placed a hand on his shoulder, the silent gesture conveying all the words they couldn’t say.
The journey to Accra, the bustling capital, was long and overwhelming. Kofi had never seen anything like it. The noise, the crowds, the endless stream of cars — it was a world away from the quiet of Akuro. He found a small room in a crowded neighborhood and began searching for work.
At first, he was optimistic. But days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, and work was hard to come by. Kofi took odd jobs wherever he could — carrying heavy loads at the market, cleaning, and even working at a construction site. The pay was meager, barely enough to cover his rent and food, let alone send money home.
Some nights, he would sit alone in his room, staring at the bare walls, and wonder if he had made a mistake. The city was unforgiving, and he missed the warmth of his family and the simplicity of village life. But he couldn’t give up.
One day, while walking through the market, Kofi overheard a man talking about a company hiring factory workers. Desperate, he followed the man and applied for the job. It was grueling work, standing on his feet for hours, packaging goods in a hot, noisy factory. But it paid better than anything he’d done before.
Kofi worked tirelessly, saving every cedi he could. Each month, he sent money home, knowing it wasn’t much but hoping it would help. His mother’s letters were his lifeline, filled with updates about the family and words of encouragement.
“Your sister is doing well in school,” she wrote once. “She says she wants to be a doctor. That’s because of you, Kofi. You’ve given her the chance to dream.”
Those words kept him going.
But life in the city was full of challenges. Kofi often went to bed hungry, choosing to save money instead of buying food. He faced discrimination and exploitation, with employers refusing to pay him on time or cutting his wages without explanation. There were days he felt invisible, just another face in the crowd, struggling to survive.
One particularly hard day, Kofi received a call from his mother. Her voice was shaky, and he could tell she was holding back tears.
“Kofi, your father… he’s sick. We took him to the hospital, but they say we need money for his treatment.”
Kofi felt his chest tighten. His father, the man who had taught him everything he knew about resilience and hard work, was now relying on him.
“I’ll send the money,” he said, though he didn’t know how he would manage it.
Over the next few weeks, Kofi worked harder than ever, taking on extra shifts and skipping meals to save every penny. He managed to send the money, but the stress took its toll. One night, as he walked home after a long shift, he collapsed on the side of the road.
A kind stranger found him and took him to a clinic. The doctor said he was severely malnourished and overworked. As he lay on the clinic bed, Kofi felt a deep despair. He had come to the city to help his family, but now he was the one in need of help.
But even in his darkest moments, Kofi refused to give up. He thought about his siblings, his parents, and the dreams they had for a better future. He couldn’t let them down.
When he recovered, Kofi returned to work, this time with a renewed determination. He started looking for ways to improve his situation, attending free workshops at a local community center. He learned about entrepreneurship and small-scale farming in urban areas. The idea sparked something in him.
Using the little savings he had, Kofi started growing vegetables in small containers outside his room. At first, it was just for his own use, but soon he began selling them to his neighbors. The demand grew, and Kofi realized he could turn it into a business.
Over time, Kofi’s small venture expanded. He rented a larger plot of land on the outskirts of the city and began growing more crops. He employed other young men who, like him, were struggling to make ends meet.
Years later, Kofi returned to Akuro, not as the boy who had left but as a man who had overcome countless obstacles. He had built a successful agricultural business, providing food for the city and creating jobs for others.
As he stood in the fields of his childhood, now lush with green maize, Kofi felt a deep sense of pride. His journey had been filled with pain and sacrifice, but it had also been a testament to the power of hope and perseverance.
Looking at his younger siblings, now grown and thriving, he smiled. They were the reason he had fought so hard. And though the road had been long and difficult, Kofi knew it had all been worth it.
Because no matter how dark the night, the sun always rises, bringing with it the promise of a better tomorrow.
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Surges Amid Market Optimism – November 21, 2024
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has surged by 40% in the last 24 hours, trading at $481, solidifying its place as one of the top-performing cryptocurrencies today. With a market cap exceeding $9.5 billion and a 24-hour trading volume of over $2 billion, BCH is attracting significant attention from investors.
**What’s Driving the Surge?**
**Halving Anticipation**
The impending halving event, expected to occur in mid-2025, has sparked renewed interest in BCH. Halvings typically reduce mining rewards by half, creating scarcity and potentially boosting prices. Historically, such events have triggered rallies across major cryptocurrencies.
**Adaptive Block Size Upgrade**
Bitcoin Cash is preparing to implement an adaptive block size mechanism, which will allow its blockchain to adjust capacity dynamically based on demand. This innovation aims to reduce transaction costs and improve processing times, addressing scalability issues—a common concern in the crypto space.
**Growing Adoption**
BCH continues to see adoption for payments and transfers due to its efficiency and lower transaction fees compared to Bitcoin. Merchants and investors alike are recognizing its practical use, further driving demand.
**Investment Tips for Bitcoin Cash**
**Short-Term Opportunities**
**Monitor Key Resistance Levels:** Analysts suggest BCH could break the $529 resistance. A strong breakout might indicate further upside potential.
**Volatility Management:** High price fluctuations are common. Set stop-loss levels to mitigate risks in case of sudden reversals.
**Long-Term Strategy**
**Capitalize on the Halving:** Historical data suggests that prices typically rally in the months leading up to and after halving events. Building a position early may be advantageous.
**Adopt Dollar-Cost Averaging:** To minimize risk, consider spreading your investment over time rather than entering the market at a single price point.
**Diversification**
Do not allocate all your capital to BCH. Diversify across multiple cryptocurrencies to reduce exposure to market-specific risks.
Consider BCH’s correlation with Bitcoin and other assets when planning your portfolio. Positive correlation with Bitcoin may affect BCH during broader market downturns【11†source】.
**Stay Updated**
Keep an eye on network upgrades and regulatory developments. These factors can significantly impact prices.
Use tools like crypto alerts or newsletters to track BCH’s price movements and news.
**Cautionary Notes**
While BCH’s price momentum is promising, the market remains volatile. Potential risks include regulatory uncertainty and competition from other scalable cryptocurrencies. As always, assess your risk tolerance and consider consulting a financial advisor before making investment decisions.

Celebrating children, the gift of creation!
In the quiet moments of the day, when laughter fades into the soft hush of sleep, one realizes that children are more than just a gift—they are the embodiment of life's purest joys and greatest challenges.
Their laughter, like tinkling bells in a gentle breeze, dances through the air, filling every corner with warmth. Yet, in the very same breath, their mischievousness sparkles like a wild firework, bursting with unexpected surprises and untamed energy.
They test boundaries, not out of malice, but out of curiosity and the sheer joy of exploration. In their innocence, they stumble, they fall, and they rise again, resilient and brave, teaching us lessons in perseverance and resilience that we thought we had long forgotten.
They challenge our patience, leaving trails of chaos in their wake, yet in the chaos, we find the beauty of spontaneity and the freedom to embrace imperfection.
They are the artists of our lives, painting vibrant strokes of love, frustration, pride, and humility on the canvas of our hearts. They remind us that life is not meant to be a perfectly scripted play but a messy, glorious adventure filled with surprises at every turn.
So, yes, children can be naughty, but they are also the greatest gift—a gift that keeps on giving, shaping us into better versions of ourselves with every giggle, every tantrum, and every heartfelt "I love you" that escapes their lips.
The whispers of the dark!
In the quiet depths of night, when shadows stretch like tendrils hungry for light, fear takes root in the heart of those who are scared of the dark. It's not merely the absence of light that unnerves them, but the looming presence of the unknown that lurks within those inscrutable shadows.
As the world outside slips into a hushed slumber, the darkness inside the house becomes alive, pulsating with a sinister energy. Every creak of the floorboards echoes like a mournful cry, each gust of wind a ghostly whisper brushing against the windowpanes. The walls seem to close in, suffocating in their dim, foreboding embrace.
Imagination runs rampant in the darkness, conjuring grotesque shapes that slither and slink in the corners of the mind. Every rustle of leaves outside the window transforms into the stealthy footsteps of something malevolent, prowling just beyond sight. The flicker of a distant streetlight casts eerie shadows, creating fleeting glimpses of phantom figures watching, waiting.
The air grows heavy with a palpable sense of dread, as if the night itself is a living entity, feeding on fear. The mind plays cruel tricks, painting vivid scenes of horror that dance on the edge of perception. Shadows twist and contort, taking on grotesque forms that seem to leer and mock.
For those scared of the dark, each passing moment becomes a descent into a nightmarish realm where reality blurs with nightmare. Every shadow holds unseen threats, every sound a potential harbinger of terror. The line between what is imagined and what is real blurs, leaving them trapped in a labyrinth of their own fears.
Yet amidst this suffocating terror, there is a flicker of resilience, a spark of defiance. It's the bravery it takes to face the unknown, to confront the darkest recesses of the mind with trembling resolve. Even in the depths of fear, there's a glimmer of hope—a candle in the darkness—that whispers of courage yet to be discovered.
And so, in the midst of the darkest night, they journey through their own personal abyss, fighting against the encroaching shadows with every ounce of strength they possess. For it is in this struggle that they discover the true depth of their bravery, forged in the crucible of their darkest fears.
Lost in the whispers of the night.
In the stillness of the night, when all the world seems wrapped in a blanket of silence, the whispers begin. They are the subtle murmurs of thoughts that refuse to rest, dancing like shadows in the dim light of the moon. Each whisper carries a fragment of the day, a memory, a worry, a dream yet to be realized.
As the hours tick by, the whispers grow louder, weaving intricate patterns of what-ifs and could-have-beens. The mind becomes a stage where past and future converge, playing out scenes of joy and sorrow, success and failure. Sleep, elusive as ever, flits just out of reach, teasing with promises of respite that never materialize.
The whispers of the night are both enchanting and haunting, a symphony of the subconscious that draws one deeper into its embrace. They are the companions of the sleepless, the nocturnal muses who inspire contemplation and introspection in the dark hours when the world sleeps.
And so, we lie awake, caught in the delicate web of whispers, yearning for the peace that slumber brings, yet finding solace in the quiet company of our restless thoughts.
The Miracle of Life.
For nine sacred months, she cradled life within her, a symphony of hopes and dreams woven into the fabric of her being. Each day was a testament to her resilience, a journey of whispered prayers and tender whispers to the life blossoming within. She counted the moments with bated breath, tracing the contours of her swelling belly with wonder and anticipation. Every kick, every flutter, a reminder of the miracle she nurtured within.
But as the fateful hour approached, destiny wove a thread of challenge into her story. The labor pains, once anticipated with excitement, now arrived with a fierce intensity, a reminder of the power and unpredictability of life's unfolding drama. The air in the birthing room crackled with tension, a symphony of emotions – fear, hope, love, and determination – swirling around her like a tempest.
And then, the unexpected struck. A complication, unforeseen and daunting, cast shadows upon the anticipated joy. Panic threatened to engulf the room, but amidst the chaos, a beacon of hope emerged – skilled surgeons, clad in scrubs like knights of modernity, took their place in the saga of birth.
With unwavering hands and hearts brimming with dedication, they navigated the storm within her. Every incision was a stroke of faith, every suture a promise of tomorrow. The beeping monitors, the hushed instructions exchanged among the medical team, the palpable tension hanging in the air – it was a symphony of urgency and expertise, orchestrated to save a life in the making.
In the hushed whispers of the operating theater, they defied the odds, scripting a tale of triumph over adversity. Time seemed to stand still as they worked tirelessly, the weight of responsibility heavy on their shoulders but fueled by a collective determination to bring forth life against all odds.
And then, in a moment that transcended the mundane, a cry pierced the air – a symphony of life reborn. Through the darkness of doubt, they ushered forth the light of new beginnings. Tears of relief and gratitude mingled on her cheeks as she cradled her newborn, feeling the weight of the journey and the depth of the miracle she had just witnessed.
In the embrace of her child, she found solace, a testament to the miracle of birth and the indomitable spirit of human endeavor. The surgeons, their faces etched with exhaustion but eyes sparkling with the joy of a successful delivery, stood back, silent guardians of a miracle fulfilled. And in that moment, amidst tears and smiles, they knew that they had been part of something sacred, something that transcended the boundaries of medicine – they had witnessed the miracle of life, and it had changed them forever.

Why Bitcoin Cash: A Comprehensive Analysis In the ever-evolving landscape of cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has emerged as a prominent alternative to Bitcoin (BTC). Advocates of BCH cite several reasons for their preference, ranging from lower transaction fees and faster transaction speeds to philosophical and community-based considerations. This article delves into the various aspects that make Bitcoin Cash an attractive option for some cryptocurrency enthusiasts.
1. Lower Transaction Fees:
One of the key advantages of Bitcoin Cash is its lower transaction fees compared to Bitcoin. This is primarily attributed to BCH's larger block size limit of 32MB, allowing for more transactions to be processed per block. As a result, users of Bitcoin Cash can enjoy cost-effective transactions, especially during periods of network congestion when Bitcoin's fees tend to rise significantly.
2. Faster Transactions:
The larger block size of Bitcoin Cash not only contributes to lower fees but also enables faster transaction confirmation times. With more space available in each block, transactions on the BCH network are processed swiftly, offering users a more seamless and efficient experience. This aspect is particularly appealing to individuals who prioritize speed and responsiveness in their digital transactions.
3. Scalability:
Scalability has been a recurring challenge for many blockchain networks, including Bitcoin. Bitcoin Cash addresses this issue through its increased block size, which enhances the network's capacity to handle a higher volume of transactions. As a result, BCH exhibits better scalability compared to Bitcoin, making it a viable option for applications requiring a high throughput of transactions.
4. Community Support and Development Direction:
The Bitcoin Cash community has garnered significant support from enthusiasts and developers who resonate with its vision of being a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. This emphasis on facilitating fast, low-cost transactions aligns with the original vision outlined in Satoshi Nakamoto's whitepaper on Bitcoin. The community's proactive approach to development and innovation further contributes to Bitcoin Cash's appeal among its proponents.
5. Philosophical Alignment:
Beyond technical considerations, there are philosophical differences that influence individuals' preference for Bitcoin Cash over Bitcoin. Some proponents believe that BCH stays truer to the decentralized, accessible nature of cryptocurrencies by prioritizing affordability and accessibility for everyday transactions. This ideological alignment plays a crucial role in shaping the preferences of users and investors within the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
Conclusion:
The case for Bitcoin Cash rests on a combination of technical advantages, community support, and philosophical alignment with the core principles of cryptocurrency. Lower transaction fees, faster transaction speeds, improved scalability, and a vibrant community committed to its development contribute to Bitcoin Cash's appeal as a viable alternative to Bitcoin. Ultimately, individual priorities and values play a pivotal role in determining which cryptocurrency best aligns with one's objectives and preferences in the digital financial landscape.
Lost in the Nothingness of life!
In the silence of his shattered dreams and the echoes of lost opportunities, he roamed aimlessly through the corridors of his mind. Each step felt heavy, burdened by the weight of unfulfilled ambitions and faded hopes. His eyes, once filled with the spark of determination, now held a hollow gaze that spoke of countless battles lost within.
Time seemed to stretch endlessly before him, a vast expanse of nothingness where days blended into nights without distinction. The world around him moved at its own pace, oblivious to the turmoil within his soul. He drifted like a ship without a compass, tossed by the waves of uncertainty and regret.
Memories haunted him like ghosts from a forgotten past, taunting him with what could have been and what should have been. He carried the scars of broken promises and shattered trust, wounds that never seemed to heal despite the passing years. Each sunrise brought a new dawn of despair, a reminder of the emptiness that consumed him from within.
Yet, amidst the darkness of his existence, a faint glimmer of hope persisted. It was a fragile thread of resilience that refused to be extinguished, a whisper of possibility that urged him to keep going despite the overwhelming odds. He clung to it like a lifeline, seeking solace in the fleeting moments of clarity and purpose that occasionally pierced through the fog of his despair.
He was a broken man, lost in the nothingness of life, but within the fragments of his shattered self, there remained a silent resilience—a quiet rebellion against the void, a refusal to surrender completely to the oblivion that threatened to engulf him. And in that defiance, there lay a sliver of redemption, a chance for healing amidst the ruins of his existence.
book review on robert kiyosaki’s cashflow quadrant: guide to financial freedom
Robert started with his background on how he became broke, homeless in 1985 and why getting a job wasn’t going to solve his problem but did a few odd jobs along with his wife Kim, to get by. While staying with a friend they devised plans become rich and never fear of being broke again even when they do not work. He continued to mention that by 1989 they became millionaires and in 1994 they achieved financial freedom, he was 47 while his wife was 37.
Robert said, it took dream, determination and willingness to achieve his financial freedom. He explained further that it doesn’t take money to make money and further reiterated that was a false and wrong opinion of people. He said, it is up to one to know the quadrants which suits one. Whichever we choose does not depend in what we learn in school whatsoever but who we are at the core. Regardless of what we do, we can still be in any of the four quadrants.
He continued to mention his two fathers’ ideas about money how they shaped his own mentality and also his core identity. He said his experience made him lean towards the B and I section of the quadrants.
In chapter two, he maintained that even though each of the quadrants have their own advantages and disadvantages, none is above the other. He said Cashflow Quadrant is not a set of rules but a guide to those who wish to follow it.
Robert stated the difference between the rich and everyone else, he stated that they receive 70% of their (the rich) income from investment and less than 30% from wages while reverse is the case for the poor. He talked a great deal about investing and how it is defined by the risk in it and how pension is greatly exaggerated and being watered down by government and agencies alike.
He went further in chapter three about people in E and S quadrant he said, their word is security and how they run away from risk, but he further explained that this isn’t their fault but what they have instilled in them since childhood, “Go to college, get good grades and find a secure job.” He said if at all people in S quadrant decides to start a business they usually fail and also how the statistics is not in their favour.
He went further on how taxes, how it is only the poor people in E and S quadrant pay taxes or if or when the rich pays it is minute as compared to the people in E quadrant because of how their income is made. He continued to say that investing is the best plan for financial freedom but not without the necessary education which is not found in school, “the path to financial freedom is on the right side of the quadrant,” he said.
Robert started chapter four to tell us about the kinds of business systems. He went further to tell us about how success is a poor teacher, how failure leads to experience to not make the same mistake(s) until we finally achieve our goal. He continued to mention about how his three business failed and how that experience moulded him into being who he is today. Being a B has a lot of ups and downs and he stated a few guidelines to achieving the dream of being a B; get a mentor, buy a franchise, go into network marketing etc. In chapter five, he explained the five levels of investors and the importance of knowing which level you are and working on moving up the ladder. Knowing oneself and having adequate financial knowledge will greatly help in becoming a master (Level 5) investor. He further reiterated that I quadrant is the best of all for achieving financial freedom and security.
In chapter six, he talked about perspective about money, how we see money will greatly impact our decisions as a B or an I. He talked about assets and liabilities and how they work either in your favour or government and banks favour. He went further to talk about the impact of financial facts and opinions and how to differentiate so as to make good financial decisions.
He continued in chapter seven about becoming who you are meant to be in financial world. Attachment to the way we get money shapes our thinking, he mentioned few examples about people who got attached to the ‘securities’ of people in E and how it is to break the pattern. He continued with a few quotes from the great minds of the past about failures of traditional education. “You can be anything you want in any of the quadrants.” He said. Financial vision minimizes risks on the right side of the quadrant. The left side is more riskier because of their little or no knowledge of financial education and also security is all they wanted. He opened chapter eight on how to get rich, he mentioned a few points on importance of the game of monopoly in build his mindset from his early days. He reiterated that to get rich one has look toward real estate and how thinking and doing things outside the box. Goal setting, vision and Cashflow is about being an entrepreneur (B) or investor (I) and not doing what the rich does. Taking calculated risks even when you don’t feel like doing it is what separates the right side from the left side of the quadrants.
In chapter nine, he stated how the rich get richer by doing what the bank does. In his words he said “Be the bank and not the banker.” He went on to explain the tactics of making money from almost nothing and how history always seem to repeat itself but how people keep on making the same mistakes. He talked a great deal about economy crashes and how it has been a great tragedy to people who do not foresee them but how advantageous it has always been for the people who makes the best of it. In his opinion, there will always be factors that will greatly affect the economy of the world which in turn leads us to either depression or recession. “Greed and fear are what drives the financial markets”, he said. He went further to explain why the government does not restrict B and I simply because they do not exist as a human bodies but rather operates as a corporate bodies. He went further to say that having smart financial advisors will also help a great deal in reaching our financial goals and also for warning for changes in laws that may restrict us.
In chapter ten, he said moving from the left side of the quadrant to the right side does not have to be overnight, he does not even recommend it because it is not ideal and later such person might relapse back to where he was coming from due to being overwhelmed. He explained the benefits of thinking like the rich (B and I), having their mindset and looking at the world from their perspective. Chapter eleven opened with how one needs to mind his business and not other peoples’. He went on to specify instances and how taking action for one’s financial life, and setting financial goals opens one’s mind about what to do and how to go about it. He continued in chapter twelve on how to take control of one’s Cashflow and about how every one of our liabilities is someone’s (government or banks) assets. He went on how making more money will not solve our financial problems especially if the Cashflow management is the problem. Proper Cashflow management begins with knowing the difference between assets and liabilities, left side of the quadrant is risky while the right side is the logical path to financial freedom.
In chapter fourteen, he asked us to decide what kind of investor we want to be. He stated the guidelines on how to get there by starting small and learning how to solve problems. For financial fast track, he mentioned again to mind our business and take control of our Cashflow. He recommended being a B before moving to being an I. In his words “you master solving business problem, you have excess Cashflow and your knowledge of business will make you a smarter investor.” Seek mentors who have been to where you see yourself in the future, they provide you the guidelines and also steer you towards the right path when you are faring off the road. He also said not to fear disappointments and to make them our strength. Always expect disappointments then when it comes you will not be surprised and be depressed, on the contrary learn your lesson, get up and start over also once more have a mentor on standby ready to help.
In the final two chapters, he mentioned the power of faith and believing in oneself, desire and determination and how they are our greatest strength. Be aware of what you say to yourself because that becomes your truth, be positive always even when things are not going your way. He concluded by saying that getting rich is the goal and becoming an investor as fast as you can should be your priority while taking the steps to financial freedom without skipping one. “Your boss’ job is to give you a job, it is up to you to make yourself rich.”

Chained
The threshold of pain I could hold in
My will, my memories
Buried deep in pains
Of the past and those of present
The hot red coal I'm holding
As I rewrite the stories
As retribution for trying to break out of these chains
My little lord shoved me down, while I resent
I shall alter the history
Overturn its course
Being the villain, I don't mind
I shall bestow them the antidote before the poison
Even if I shall be damned in the story
For by fire, by clay, and by force
They will be moulded, able to face the coming whirlwind
Be a dweller in their own prison
The sleepers
After so many wars
Travails and woes
The miracle of the unknown
The glory was acclaimed
So many oars
Steered the canoes
Out of the water, it blown
But the story of the sleeper, those weren't maimed
So many bars
Till the soil, ride the does
And devour those they've down
Head came together and the lords were blamed
So many stars
Light years, oil and potatoes
Hair outgrown
They couldn't run because of shame
Then, the sleepers came to free them of their scars
Their Lords' foes
Now, they've come to seize their crown
And their castles they claimed
But who were the sleepers, that they know so much about their plight?

In addition to improving your grammar, reading will help with all aspects of your writing, from sentence fluency to increased vocabulary.
****2. Get a grammar manual and a Grammar Instructor/Coach.****
It is useful to have a thorough reference book nearby that you can consult when writing.
This way, any time a grammatical question arises, you can quickly refer to the manual to obtain the answer.
There are many high quality grammar and writing guidebooks on the market.
*Speak to a Grammar Coach or writing instructor for recommendations. You can also get a Grammar Coach/Instructor that will guide you.*
****3. Practice.****
There are many excellent resources, both online and in print, conducive to improving your grammar skills.
A quick Internet search will reveal a multitude of websites that offer grammar games and exercises. If you know that grammar is an area you struggle with, set aside a few minutes each day to complete grammar exercises.
Even the simple act of taking a few English practice tests of any level can help you improve your grammar skills.
****4. Proofread… out loud.****
Sometimes when we re-read pieces we have written, our brain fills in the gaps of missing information.
We do not always catch our own mistakes when we proofread.
Reading what you have written out loud, preferably to someone else, is an efficient way to evaluate whether or not you have used correct grammar.
*You are more likely to notice your errors if you read the content aloud, rather than in your head to yourself.*
*Hope you gained value?*
*If you have questions, kindly ask.* 🤗

_"Tips to Cultivating a Life Time Habitual Reading,"_ to aid our reading momentum.
In the first part these were given;👇🏼
*¶. Set Times⏰*
*¶. Always Carry A Book📚*
*¶. Make a List (if possible)*
*¶. Find a Quiet Place.*
*¶. Reduce Television/Internet.*
I hope it was helpful...?
_Building reading culture is demanding, especially for those who are starters & those who may find it difficult to stay on books._
*But I bet it with you, it's possible & achievable. If only you are willing & committed.*
Kindly permit me to drop these few points to close the tips off the line.
*¶. Read before & to your child.*
_💁🏼♂️This goes to our Daddies n Mummies as well as the Potential Parents (including myself😌)._
*If we want our children to become friends with book, don't tell them to read, LET'S DO IT IN THEIR PRESENCE, it automatically transmits to them. Just TELLING them cannot do enough like DOING it while they WATCH us.*🤷🏼♂️
If you have children, you must, must read to them. Creating the reading habit in your kids is the best way to ensure they’ll be readers when they grow up, and it will help them to be successful in life as well.
Find some great children’s books, and read to them. *At the same time, you’re developing the reading habit in yourself … and spending some quality time with your child as well.*
*¶. Keep a Log.*
Similar to the reading list, this log should have not only the _title & author_ of the books you read, but the _dates_ you started and finish them if possible.
Even better, put a note next to each with your _thoughts_ about the book. *It is extremely satisfying to go back over the log after a couple of months to see all the great books you’ve read.*
(Friends who pick books from my library can testify to this, they even ask me at times that, who is the real author of this book, because my handwriting would have covered the pages)😇
*¶. Have a Personal Library Day.*
🤔What's this about? It means make a *PERIODIC VISIT* to stores to get at least a book to build up a personal library for yourself.
Even cheaper than a used book-shop is a library, of course. There are shops selling used books, it's still of great help to readers. Make it a weekly trip or a monthly. Checkout for them in your domain.
Out of your income, if you commit a little token to a book every two weeks or monthly, you would have bought at least 12books in a year.🤷🏼♂️
_*💁🏼♂️Do you actually know that; If you build a library, you build lives, you build generations*_
*¶. Make it Pleasurable.*
Make your reading time your *_favorite time_* of day. Have some good tea or coffee while you read, or another kind of treat (you know what best suits you😉). Get into a comfortable chair with a good blanket. Read during sunrise or sunset, or at the beach. Anyway it makes you feel cool.
_I like to make myself comfortable as I build up myself.._😇
*Lastly!*
*¶. Blog it.*
One of the best ways to help a habit is not to hide it, let people know you with it. Your page is good for such. If you have not been doing it, start it _(WhatsApp, FB & read.cash are good for such)._
*It’s free! Since it's your page.*
Have your family go there & give you book suggestions & comment on the ones you’re reading. _It keeps you accountable for your goals._
*Even, days when you don't post, people who follow your postings will push you to do so, because they feed from your page. And when you starve them, they push it out of you by placing demands.*
*¶.S et a High Goal.*
Tell yourself that you want to read *_50 books_* a year (or some other number like that). Then set about trying to accomplish it. Just be sure you’re still enjoying the reading though by picking appropriate books; _don’t make it a rushed chore. You have to be calming down with it you know.☺️_
*¶. Have a Reading Schedule.*
If you turn off the TV or Internet in the evening, you could have a set hour (perhaps just after dinner) when you & maybe all the members of your family read each night. Or you could do a reading day, when you (and again, your other family members if you can get them to join you) read for practically the whole day.
_It’s super fun, you know how it rolls on this platform now😉. And you can do it yourself, just ensure you have a set time to read comfortable for you._
*Books have been age long liberation factor, if we will not be bypassed in our own days, books must become the habitual language we speak. For treasures are hidden therein.👌🏼*
_If you find these tips helpful, kindly place your comment. And ensure to try them out per time. I'm sure it's gonna yield an awesome results._
Try these tips to cultivate a lifetime reading habit if you are willing.
_Try these tips to cultivate a lifetime reading habit if you are willing:_ 😌😉
*1. Set times.⏰* You should have a few set times during every day when you’ll read for *at least 5-10 minutes.* These are times that you will read no matter what — triggers that happen each day. For example, make it a habit to read during *breakfast and lunch* (and even dinner if you eat alone). And if you also read every time you’re *sitting on the can,* and when you *go to bed,* you now have four times a day when you read for 10 minutes each — or 40 minutes a day. That’s a great start, and by itself would be an excellent daily reading habit. But there’s more you can do.
*2. Always Carry A Book.📚* _Wherever you go, take a book with you._
When I leave the house, I always make sure to have my bag, my pen and my book, at a minimum. The book stays with me *in the Bus* (esp while traveling), and I take it *into the office and to appointments* and pretty much everywhere I go, unless I know I definitely won’t be reading (like at a movie). If there is a time when you have to wait *(like at a doctor’s office or at a reception),* whip out your book and read. Great way to pass the time.
*3. Make a List (if possible).📝*
_Keep a list of all the great books you want to read. You can keep this in your journal, in a pocket notebook, on your personal home page/status (I do this occasionally), on your personal to-do chat, wherever (as you wish)._🤷🏼♂️
Be sure to add to it whenever you hear about a good book; online or from a friend. *Keep a running list, and cross out the ones you read.* There is something called *"Tech trick:"* create a Gmail Account for your book lists, and email the address every time you hear about a good book. Now your inbox will be your reading list. When you’ve read a book, file it under “Done”. If you want, you can even reply to the message (to the same address) with notes about the book, and those will be in the same conversation thread, so now your Gmail account is your reading log too. That's a secret to getting connected to authors of some great books & they always love to have you chat with them. I've been able to connect to few authors through this method and end up having access to their resources. So adopt it, you never can tell how far your resourcefulness can go through that.
*4. Find A Quiet Place.🙊😷*
Some folks claim they can read anywhere (especially in noisy environment). Oh! I don't think that's too good enough.
*I wonder if such people can function/deliver at the pace of those who do their reading in secret/quiet place.*
Find a place *in your home* where you can sit in a comfortable chair _(don’t lay down unless you’re going to sleep)_ and curl up with a good book without interruptions. There should be *no television or computer* near the chair to minimize distractions, and *no music or noisy family members/roommates.* If you don’t have a place like this, *Create One.🤷🏽♂*
*5. Reduce Television/Internet.*
_If you really want to read more, try cutting back on TV or Internet consumption (this principle really helps me a lot) ._👌🏼
This may be difficult for many people. Still, every minute you reduce of Internet/TV, you could use for reading. This could create hours of book reading time.
🤔But I imagine how many are so attached that they can even fall sick without being on Internet/TV.
*If you want to know if indeed you're disciplined, this is one area I would suggest you make a check on.*
Let me stop on for now not to bombard us with much thoughts, if possible, I'd give more tonight.
*Let's build a life time reading habit, because with it, we can do a lot.*🤗
```Thanks for your time great people with great minds```
_We are equipped💪🏼 by the power of opened📖 books._
How stable coins help maximize profit in Bitcoin cash
Everyone who has come across bitcoincash, either you bought it or earned it through blogging would probably have noticed the volatility of bitcoin cash and those who intend to invest in bitcoin cash for the long run can simply take advantage of this upward and downward movement of the market price.
Volatility is great for investors who wish to hold bitcoin cash for a longterm as they would maximize profit by capitalizing on the frequent upward and downward movement of the crypto market value. The best assets to use to take advantage of this volatility are stable coins.
What are stable coins?
Stable coins are crypto currencies designed to maintain a stable price with little or no change over a long period of time. These stable coin values are tied to the value of existing fiats of different denominations. They are notable for their similarities and equivalence to local fiats such as US dollar, Euro etc
Why you need to consider stable coins.
Many people often shy away from stable coins as they believe they would never make profit hodling them for a long time but are ignorant of the advantages stable coins present in the crypto space.
Looking at the bull run bitcoin made after its previous halvings. The increase in value made many to acquire as much as possible hoping to capitalize on its increase in value and many would simply gnash their teeth when they see the opposite happen after they have banked so much of it.
What stable coins offer...
Stable coins allow investors of bitcoin cash or people who might have earned bitcoin casn and wish to hold for a long term maximize their profit...
Its simply allows owners of bitcoin cash to swap to a stable coin whilst the market value of bitcoin cash goes very high and looks the go down the coming weeks. They can simply swap back to bitcoin cash when it has dropped massively capitalizing on the low market value and gaining more bitcoin cash. They repeat the process when the price goes up again and continue to capitalize on the upward and downward movememt of the bitcoin cash value without leaving the crypto space.
This process has been used by many crypto investors to capitalize on the volatility of crypto currency. Its also helps them evade tax and charges if they had opted to swap to their local fiat when the price looks to take a downward slope.
Stable coins would always play an important role in the crypto space as long as the volatility of crypto currency remains a thing of worry.
There are different types of stable coins around but one which has been widely used according to research is the USD Tether (erc-20) which makes use of the ethereum blockchain.
If you intend investing in bitcoin cash and maximazing profit then you might want to look at stable coins.
Thanks for reading.
The note i wish i wrote you.
*I call you dear,*
*I know you wont hear,*
*I think about you always,*
*I'll never have the guts to tell you anyways.*
*I can catch a grenade for you,*
*Though it wont make a difference to you.*
*If i live or die.*
*My life is better with you in it...*
*But without me, Yours will probably be perfect.*
*You have the options i crave,*
*You are the only option i have,*
*You mean the world to me...*
*Even when you have a world of your own,*
*A world where i barely exist.*
*If letting go would let you love me better,*
*I will give you away without a letter.*
*If being behind the scene will let you notice me,*
*I will gladly leave you be*
*So you could notice how beautiful your life would look without me*
*This is the irony of what love can give*.
Book Review : Goal setting by Jim Rohn
`It's Jim Rohn's Guide to Goal Setting.```
He made us to understand the essentiality of goal setting.
Though with the way he started the book, it was made clear that *it is very possible for a man to live life without any goal place.*
_He (Jim) himself was once a victim of life without goal. He lived the way it came and ran his life accidentally._
*Until when His mentor, Mr. Earl Shoaff asked him to bring his list of goals and help him build ideas around it.*
_Jim couldn't table any list because it wasn't his pattern of life, just like many of us today._
*We shun what it takes to set goal and operate on whatever comes.*
_Mr. Shoaff was able to predict Jim's account balance simply because he was a man without goal._
*Oh; this got Jim that even to the very amount in a man's account, everything about a man without goals would be affected. And from thence, he got serious with the matter of Goal Setting for oneself.*
*Many of us have been a victim of this same experience and many are yet victims. The reason our lives are the way it is, is because there is no template on which we run with and everything about us suffer for it.*
_Our finances, relationship, career, emotion, health and what have you._
If only after reading this book we would be intentional, then there is assurance for change.
Jim, in this book revealed that; *Goal Setting is a _"Skill"_ which could be "Developed" if we see the need to.*
Nobody is born automatically as a Goal Setter, it is seeing it as an element for a simplified life and being intentional to it that it would be a skill to develop.
_The author further revealed that Goals help to Design ones life._
*A life best lived is a life by design. A life that is given to dimensions, structure, colour, objectives and sense of purpose; which yields an absolute result.*
That's a life with Goals.
A goal you don't set doesn't give you result.
*Some people got some results and were never conscious of the results. Why? Because the results came without goal to getting such results.*
_So, according to Jim; Goal setting creates platform to experience the power of imagination._
*With goal setting you can think of a future, it helps to think of the rest of the day or year, think of 5years or 10.*
_Goals helps to create a life of possibilities._
Jim revealed 5 things that affect us.
*1. **The Environment**.*
Our environment has a way affecting us. It shapes us and influences our behavior and the activities in our lives.
_And the environment is so depending on what we contribute there._
*Rohn says if everybody contributed (the right things), what a different it would make.*
***2. Event**.*
We are also affected by events and activities; be it local events, national or global. It could be family events and so.
Whatever we commit ourselves to is what shape and influence our life.
_Watch the events you participate in._
***3. Knowledge**.*
The author noted; *Ignorance is no bliss.*
Ignorance leads to lack, shortens life, it leads to disease, it empties one.
_Ignorance affect what we know and don't know._
Simply put, ignorance as an art of ignoring the prerequisites of life leads to a perishing life.
***4. Results**.*
Jim says; Discipline undone in the future gives us poor results and discipline managed well gives us good results.
_What you are not committed to doing will not yield a tangible results._
***5. Our Dreams**.*
Our dream has a way it affects us. Our vision for tomorrow influences what we do today.
***The Pull of The Future.***
_Every nan is a bag of experiences which comes by different circumstances, so there is tendency of being tied to the past._
Jim revealed that if we will not allow the distractions of our past events (whether good or bad), then we will gain focus on the future.
*Goals becomes the element that pull us to the future. It helps our focus.*
Goals are like Magnets- *THEY PULL.*
_The stronger the goals the stronger they pull us (to the future we anticipate for)._
Not only will our goals pull us- *But they also pull us through.*
*There are phases in time that are full of distractions, down times and different disasters. But our Goals are there to pull us through those periods so that we don't get locked down in the present and loss the radar for advance into the future.*
_What a mighty tool a goal is in the life of a man._🤔
As rightly pointed out from the book;
A life of GOALS provides:
¶. Focus.
¶. Shapes our dreams.
¶. Gives us ability to home on exact actions we must take.
If not for goal, there are certain things we would not have done.
_It helps to determined what we won't do and will do._
*If you see a man that is found everywhere, such is a man without goal.*
*If you see a man that eats everything and anything, such is one without goal.*
_If you see a man that says everything and anything, such lacks goal._
What you do and don't do is determined by the goal you set. Have you any goal?
_For us to reach our Goal we must become better and there is need for Grow._
*While setting a goal, the version of us that would reach the goal isn't the same version that set the goal.*
This is where giving what it takes to reaching a set goal is essential.
*Many who at the beginning of a year set goals but do not reach, it is because the version of them that set the goal is still who they are.*
_They never grow, no development. They don't do what it takes to._
Jim revealed the key aspects to Setting Goals;
*¶. Evaluation and Reflection.*
*¶. Dreams.*
*¶. SMART Goal.*
*¶. Accountability.*
An unexamined life is not worth living.
*To evaluate your life brings you face to face with who you are NOW and what you have become, to creating a vision of who you want to become.*
Your dreams; not what you are now but what you project to become tomorrow.
*It is not what you are satisfied with today. Your dream is a pointer to what you're not satisfied with NOW.*
Jim also noted that when you're accountable (to yourself or to someone) on your goal, it gives you added boost to achieving and accomplishing your goal.
Quality over quantity : A call to writers to slow down.
Good day friends,
I am writing this article to address an issue i have observed lately and hope after members of the "poems and flashfiction" community read this, would react positively to it.
Foremost, I would like to appreciate every writer who has joined the "poems and flashfiction" community to showcase the beauty of the art. The community has grown to over 300 plus members and its a joy to read the submissions that gets submitted everyday.
Quality over Quantity
Each time i check my notifications to moderate poems and flashfictions submitted to the community. I realize the quality of the submited article is low with poorly written grammar, punctuations, poor plot development, and flat story lines. I noticed this is due to the fact that writers feel they need to submit loads of articles daily thereby barely proof reading what they have written and also alot of stolen contents gets induced in their articles without due permission from the original author.
_Its no news that the point system has been abolished and this would fetch you nothing as your articles have been poorly written_
Your Pen is Your identity as a writer, write well.
Its a tough task to write a very intriguing and engaging article but its worth it if you are able to communicate with your audience in the way that they would want to read more from you.
*I would rather have a ferrari than 3 volkswagen (no offence to volks)*
Rather than write multiple articles of low quality that wouldnt engage your audience or make them want to subscribe to you.
Take your time to write one very good article that engages your audience, passes a message and create a discuss in the comments.
I would make an article on some writing tips tomorrow that would help you checkmate your content and possibly improve the quality of your articles. I really had to write this because daily i read through the submissions and its quite discouraging.
I would really wish to see members of poems and flashfiction community improve greatly and put more effort into create a very great article.
Cheers and thank you for reading.
Book review : Mind your Mind by Remez sasson.
*The book is actually revealing the inner power of every human being.*
*The inner power which is capable of bringing success and peace as well.*
*Through the reading of this book, it's made clear that it is very possible for a man to have accumulated so many things onto him/herself and yet lack the peace of mind to enjoy that which such fellow has acquired.*
In such case, there is no fulfillment.
*The author, Sasson R., made it clear that, true success is in achievement that comes with peace of mind.*
*If whatever you set your mind on to accomplish, having accomplished it, if there is still restlessness of mind, then it means fulfilment isn't reached.*
_All this is attributed to the state of mind._
*Sasson's aim for putting this book out is that every individual might be in charge of his/her Mind.*
Little I wondered why he titled it;
```Mind your Mind.` ``
Doesn't that sound like a command?🤔
So, it is possible not to mind one's mind.🤷🏼♂️
*Very little does an average man knows of the potential lurked up in his mind.*
And because we are not aware of the great ability our mind possesses, we in turn obtain very little with our life.
*The clear understanding about this book is that, the state of your mind equals to the state of your life.*
_Whatever you give your mind to is what manifest in your life._
Even, to many who claim to be spiritual people, their spirituality will not yield so much result if the mind is subjected to a lower delivery of its capacity.
Sasson talked about the *Power of Thought.*
*He revealed that, the mind is the processing house, that is a factory where thoughts are produced.*
Whatever _thought_ you produce as human is as a result of your mindset.
If you produce a negative, unhealthy thought, then it is a sign that your mind is programmed in an unhealthy and sickly manner.
*So, the issue is not with your thought, the very factor that needs surgery is your mind.*
*Sasson revealed that our mind receives everything that shows up, everything that comes and go, whatever catches its attention. And as we allow those things to find a dwelling place on our mind, it gains expressions and from these Habit is formed.*
Oh! So, every bad or good habit is as a result of some processes of thoughts that have overstayed and gain a platform on the mind.
So, to deal with a man who has a bad habit is not to question his habit/character... The issue is of the mind.
*The thought that you repeatedly think will shape your life.*
*if your thought as a person is always how the people around you will stop facing a particular challenge around them, in no time, you become a world changer.👌🏼*
*Meaning that, as noted by Sasson, your Thought is A magnet which is capable of attracting all manner of things to your life.*
*By your thought, you draw every result that your life gives.*
*With your mind, you say yes or no to successful living.*
Now, Sasson further noted that, A THOUGHT DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY BRING RESULT TO YOU.
*It has to be a repeated one... As in, you have to make it a dominant one... Seriously, it has to take ROOT in your mind for it to birth result.*
So, like the author rightly pointed, _a thought that is often repeated takes root in the subconscious mind, and from there, it affects our lives and even our environment._
That's why the aim of this book is achievable, if you would permit it.
*If a thought needs to be repeated and gains root in your subconscious mind, then it is possible for you to avoid some unawesome occurrences in your life.*
You can discard that thought before it gains expression.
_Actually, IDEAS are birthed by Thoughts;_
*So, you can as well repeat those beautiful thoughts and they will become tools with which you beautify your world.*
This is the POWER of our THOUGHT.
Sasson said;
```The way to gain MASTERY of One's Life is to BE IN CHARGE of One's Thought.```
_That is, you decide what stays on your mind and what doesn't stay._
Many events around you would give suggestions for your mind to behold, if it is such damaging suggestion, as one in charge, you discard it...that's mastery.
*A man's mind is a fertile ground for all manners of things to germinate and produce fruits.*
_But by gaining mastery of your mind, you give permission to what should and what should not be planted therein._
Look at a person who claims to be spiritual, and has the spirit of God in him. Truly he does... But his mind has never been disciplined enough to deal with junks in the mind.
That's why the spirit that he claims to be in him would suggest something into his mind and he may choose to act so or not.
The reality is that, NO HUMAN BEING IS CREATED ROBITIC.
There is power of CHOICE when makes Human to be different from other creatures.
That's why the author noted that,
The same way a Magnet can attract whatever it likes and repel whatever doesn't fit it... So we can attract and repel with our mind.
The author talked about both A RESTLESS AND PEACEFUL MIND.
*Mind becomes restless because it picks different things here and there... So much so that even at some point, many do not know they have been drifted away from the core activity of the day... Before they realize their state, the mind has drawn them so far away.*
_Oh my... Many have become victims of different circumstances of life due to such instances._
Like Sassoon also pointed..
*A Peaceful Mind is never a sign of No Challenge.*
*_What Peaceful Mind means is that, your mind doesn't have time to feast on those appearing challenges._*
The mind feasts on what it sees, hears or reads.
*A PEACEFUL MIND is such that has been disciplined to filter all sorts of undemanding junks that is thrown to the field of the mind.*
A man that has reached that phase is one who has gained mastery of his mind.
That is one who is truly minding his/her mind.
_As I round off with those questions Sasson asked;_
*¶. Why do you let thoughts rule the mind, instead of being their Master?.*
*¶. Why not enjoy your inner peace (which could also be referred to as voice of the spirit), and choose only beneficial and desirable thoughts?*
*¶. Why let your thoughts treat you like a relentless boss that constantly gives you an errand after errand to do?*
The author noted and said; _you can set yourself free from that habit of constant and restless thinking.
The truth is that...
*There is nothing God can achieve with a man whose mind isn't disciplined.... If He cannot determine what sits on the seat of his mind, then he can never last on the field of play.*
So also,
*Satan has all to do with the life of a man who is undisciplined in his mind, because every suggestion that Satan throws at him, he will never cease to romance the suggestions, and which becomes thoughts that produce all manners of things.*
*Meaning that, your successful life is not in God's Hands, it is in your agreement and continual partnership with God. So that all that He has written about you might be actualized.*
So also, you have the power to shame the devil by throwing back those thoughts he suggested to your mind.
Next time you see a man misbehave, if you have to deal with him at all, don't complain about his actions but make endeavors to arrest his mind, because that's where the enemy has conquered him.
That's why you will see a man being sent to jail for same offence 5times... Until he begins to Mind his Mind, he continues to change cell numbers.
Please let's continue to
*Mind our Minds... Because that's where Successful Living is Embraced or Rejected.*
Thank you!
Writer, writer : A struggle with words and meaning. (boring loud thoughts)
What is Writing?
If like me you've wondered what "writing" is, then this post is for you. When I started writing I never put any thought into the "philosophy" of writing. Or even the mechanism. All I did was read. And write. I wrote stories. I wrote lines. I wrote poetry even though I knew I sucked. But why did I continue? Becasue it came to me. And it was beautiful--to me.
Honestly what I'm trying to do here, the whole point of this post, is to stress subjectivity. Because I feel that hasn't been stressed enough by people--writers--as much as it should. Now this may turn out to be self vindicatory, fine. I *had* to write it.
Writing is art. Meaning it requires a bit of ingenuity to produce, and its final end is an aesthetic one. Beauty. Even though nowadays the end of art is more economical or political. But that is not what I'm trying to speak of here. What I'm driving at is that art is subjective. And the art of writing is no less so.
When I started writing I couldn't stop, because, like I said, it came to me--phrases, stories, lines, bon mots, even single words. And I wrote them down, without aiming towards any end but an aesthetic one: to please myself. Again, it was beautiful to me.
But circumstances, expedients pushed me to start thinking that maybe they weren't just beautiful to me. Maybe they were beautiful. Period. Now I cant say that I was wrong Or right. I can only say that in retrospect the only reason I thought so is probably because I was broke and jobless and needed to convince myself I was good at something. That I could make money off something. A talent of mine.
So I decided to write a book and sell it for thousands of dollars and make millions more in royalty.
It was a good dream.
It should be noted also that at this time *they* stopped coming to me. I became worse, very obviously so. To put it very simply, I became a very very terrible writer.
Again What Really Is Writing?
Back then when they stopped, I started to philosophize. Maybe as a means of getting them back, I dont know. Either way I started to think hard. Why was reading Mark Twain so good to me; for me. Why does it fill me with so much happiness? Isn't it just a book, like the kinds I wrote? Arent they just words?
Of course first thing you consider I considered is grammar. Syntax or whatnot. Maybe I couldn't pull sentences together like Twain. But I could. My sentences never stopped being grammatically correct. At least I knew tenses and figures of speech and whatnot.
But my problem continued, because like I said, writing is art. It is not mechanical or programmed or whatever.
Now I thought maybe its not just that the sentences were not correct, grammatically. Maybe they weren't "fancy" enough, like Twain's and his colleagues. I read a lot of classics, and I thought maybe if i could make my words fancy like them then I'd be a good writer. The result was weird.
Desperation could do nothing for me though. Neither could writing good sentences and writing like frigging Shakespeare.
So--again!--What Is Writing?
The first breakthrough I had was when I figured out the meaning of *meaning*.
There are two ways to look at it, I figured, you either look at the words, or you look at the meaning. See words are merely words. Grammatically correct or incorrect, archaically structured or not. At the end of the day they're only just words. Which is why Mark Twain could make Huck Finn speak so funny and still make so much sense; still give me so much joy. Because in the end--and this is the greatest irony in the life of a *writer*--words do not matter! What matters, is the meaning!
**The meaning, not the name I call**
-- Paradise Lost by John Milton.
Anybody can write words. Anybody can make grammatically sound sentences. But that's not what makes a writer. What makes a writer is the ability to call the attention of your readers to the meaning of words. To make them *get* it; *see* it; *feel* it. That is art. That is meaning. But *that* is easier said than done.
First Person Subjective
So I knew what writing was. Didn't necessarily mean I could do it, though. But I knew what I had to do. I had to to make people see. But did I really have to do it?
See, it comes full circle. Lord knows it sure did for me. Like I said, the words had stopped coming. Because I was *trying* not even to write, but to write things *for* people.
I dont have to make everyone, or anyone, for that matter, see or acknowledge or "get" my writing. I'm not talking about being esoteric now. I'm talking about doing what you love--because you love it! Not for fame or acclaim or whatever. Its an irony, the fact that this is the only way you can write anything worth of acclaim. But, of course, you should never fool yourself! You cant fool your nature.
It is Concluded
So if you ask me what a writer is, if you really ask me, I'd tell you a writer is someone who writes not words, not mere words, but someone who writes the things he or she loves, because he or she loves to do it. That's a writer. Thats what I am. Sometimes I write stuffs that suck, and I'm not afraid to share them, and sometimes I write epic stuff. But guess what? I dont care. I'm a writer and I'm doing what I love. There's no feeling like it. Thanks for reading all. I had so much fun writing this.
We own Her
Come
Into my thought
And be the mecca of my reasoning
The night envies you
Come let's consummate our burdens
The night envies your ontology
Come let's sieve and whisk the flavour from a buttered dream
The night owes us a ditty
Come let campaign
Against throes of lassitude
The night will dance
In silhouette of u
The night will creep
In shenanigan of ur entity
Come let's humble
This pyramid
Of ageless desires
The night broom the diet of yesteryears into our communion
Come
Come
Come
Let's tell the night
We own her
All i want is You
All I want is you
So many times
I have walked
The length of oceans
The shrubs of forests
The suburbs of cities
In search of that
Pomegranated diadem
Shielded in you
Couldn't see
Your beauty
Is mighty
In this ocean of plenty
For your strides
Are strategic
Like Soyinka's beards
And the guts of your hips
Are rich
Each is worth a cloak
Glimmering in the slopes
Of your beauty
Rise
Gently
You know
Your smile
Is Africa's best
For your topography
Is plain
Uncultivated
In a million wanders
Your tender lips
Have bottled me
I am left
In the manacles of heart
A proud captive
And as you walled your mind
A siege I shall befall
Just give me your heart
That's all I ask
Just take my heart
That's
All I want
Unashamed
Everyone pays so much attention to racism because they think its the reason alot of people feel they are in a place where they aint accepted which eventually makes their emotions drown them into depression. There is something else very much depressing which is being mocked about your looks and been tagged ugly. There is a misconception that only ladies or about a high percentage of ladies have Body image issues well i was also in that bracket even though while growing up i was tagged the “fat kid”. I am a man and i never realized i had Body image issue until i went shopping at a mall and some kids walked past me and made funny signs to each other. They mocked me because as a man they felt i had tits as big as that of an eighteen year old girl. I felt embarras and After I got home from the mall that day, I told my mom I wanted to start working out. It was one small thing I could do to fix my appearance. But that didn’t stop me from still feeling fat. I was the guy too scared to swim in public without a shirt. I learned what kinds of clothes hid my belly and tits.Sometimes I complain about my weight to my close friends, but they say they don't see it. Some tell me they think I have an athletic build. Others say I'm skinny. I don't believe it, and I grab my flab to prove it. I see my body bulging out of my shirt in the mirror. I carried this “fat image” in my subconcious mind that i even stayed away from mirrors because i hated to see my reflections. I had just started dating recently and my girl friend visited me and together we looked through my photo album of when i was a kid. She said she loved my pictures so much and asked why i stopped playing soccer. I got offended because i felt it was obvious she knew i was too fat and unfit to play soccer. I asked her if she preferred me back then or me now, if she didnt like how i looked and wanted to use soccer as an excuse for me to work out.Part of my struggle with my body image issue is a personal view that I'm failing at achieving my goal of slimming down. In my subconcious mind I'm not good enough because I'm out of shape, causing me to lose confidence and motivation to work out, but my exercise doesn't result in feeling skinnier. My girlfriend was very patient with me and she helped me alot because with her i had my first breakthrough. I admitted i had body image issue and for the first time in years i went swimming with her. That was the first step and its only takes one step to get you closer to restoring your self esteem.
***Silver Lining***
*>He sat on the pavement, looking at the door of her apartment. The bowler hat in front of him was full of crumpled dollar notes dropped by benevolent passers-by who sympathized with his condition.*
*He knew he was taking a big risk, and he would pay a price far greater than what was in the hat if his disguise was seen through.*
*But that was just one of the things on his mind: the* ***clouds*** *were gathering, and he didn't have anything on except rags.*
*However, he had stopped caring about that.*
*The rain didn't matter anymore, it was no more different from the tears falling from his eyes each time he came here.*
*Even the sky shared his sorrow.*
*"The moment you join the CIA, you sell your soul, family, freedom, and safety to the organization." A voice in his head said, recalling his superior's words when he was first appointed seven years ago.*
*"You have no identity, no family and no safety", it echoed.*
*Then, it didn't mean anything to him. He hadn't met her. He didn't have a three-year-old daughter who'd never set her eyes on her father.*
*For the past three years, he was investigating a drug cartel which also had their sights set on ending his life. No matter what, he couldn't visit his family or be seen with them.*
*The price for their safety was his absence.*
*Only at this moment every Friday, dressed like a homeless vagabond, could he see his daughter being brought back from school by his wife and watch them both enter the apartment.*
*Moments like this cut through his heart like a knife, and it was a difficult price to pay.*
*But his clouds had their silver lining as long as he could see them here everyday.*
*Your submission had great imagery, character development and pure emotions of a father's love beautifuly portrayed. Thank you for your submission and Congratulations once again.*
A lazy afternoon to reflect on a funny past😁
During one of my training in school before I graduated, we went to the sea to learn how to survive in a wave 🌊. So we were asked to hold each other and form a long chain for the wave not to carry us away.
By my right was the fattest guy in the department Bob-G 😂, and by my left was a short lazy friend Daniel: the nerd amongst us all.
I intentionally left my friend and picked Bob becaus I thought his big stomach should be a shield against the strong wave, little did I know.
The only instruction we were given were to 1. Hold on to our neighbor 2. Bow down our heads holding firm when the wave was high.
By the time we went deep into the sea and the wave became strong and high naturally we were terrified and we were left with instinct to survive because we were practically floating in the sea. we couldnt dodge any wave at this time 😂 😂.
Bob that I thought would be my anchor was shivering from the cold, 😔 but the funny thing was that Daniel held on to me like his life depended on it, I tried pushing him off but to no avail.
After everything we were able to swim back to shore and after freshening up, I asked Dan why he didn't bother to survive but held on to me all through the strong wave.
*Please I need your attention here, what he said that day really got me thinking and remembering it now I feel like sharing it to whoever is interested in my story.*
*He said and I quote, *I held on to you because you are tall, and I know your leg will reach the ground before me and you are holding on to Bob-G because he is fat and he will be our weight so the wave won't throw us about like the other groups, the worst can only happen to me if you are tall for nothing and Bob-G is fat for nothing.**
He is a a funny guy, but the last line of his statement caught my attention, in life there will surely be trials and tribulations, I mean real life challenges that you don't know what to do or where to go, who do you hold on to?
We have a God, if you don't know him you have heard about him, hold on to him tight and trust not in another, except if the God you call is useless which I'm sure he isn't, he will surely deliver you out.
And while I personally don't believe in dropping everything to God's feet and staying idle, who do have in your circle, who are your friends, if they are useless please dump them and pick new ones who will walk in line with your dream and purpose.
Sweet Poison
*She was a fruit of temptation*
*A forbidden fruit of death*
*Sweet outside, toxic inside*
*A soothing balm, a fiery potion*
*Her eyes shone with undiluted passion*
*I drowned in them with no caution*
*Her smile a deadly hypnotist*
*Sucking me in with all my secrets*
*Dark and beautiful;*
*Standing tall*
*Like a deadly avenger of love*
*Her appearance was as calm as the ocean*
*On the inside she was a rumbling stream*
*she brought a puncture to my heart*
*A blow to my peace of mind*
*For her I'd be a snivelling worm*
*I do not seek survival*
*My survival is my eternity with her*
*She is toxic for my heart*
*She kills me slowly; but sweetly*
