Something new is brewing...
Saturday, 27th of August 2022
How does the end of the summer make you feel guys? For me it’s a bitter-sweet kind of feeling. The days in Northern hemisphere are getting shorter since the longest day of the year in late June and having spent most of my working life in industrial environments with no daylight, I grew to appreciate the daylight more than anything. Shorter days mean less exposure to daylight after a day spent at work. Luckily for me, my desk in the new job is located right by the window and I count it as one of many blessings of my new job. So, the bitterness of end of the summer is not so heavy for me this year.
Colder days? Well, this part doesn’t seem to apply to 2022 either. August in my country has been the hottest in many years and even as I write this (at 3pm) it is 26 degrees outside – hotter than most other summer days I have experienced here since 2005. In fact in July we had a new record - 40.3 degrees. Previous highest temperature was recorded in 2019 at 38.7 degrees. Welcome to global warming – it has some perks too.
The sweet part of bitter-sweet feeling is the coming back to school. Back when I was a child I never really looked forward to it. After fun filled summer which child wants to go back to responsibility of attending classes and doing homework? Not many, and I wasn’t the exception. There was a part that I did look forward to ever since I remember. That’s stationery shopping! New pens, pencils, notebooks and books always made me super excited and @emily2u has reminded me of it in one of her recent articles.
These days I might be an adult, but the feeling of going back to school stayed. The shelves in markets fill up with stationery and the feeling of excitement comes back too. I am a forever scholar. I hear many people complaining about how difficult it is for them to change job and learn all about the new job role and company. On the contrary, this is where I thrive. Learning new things, getting to know new people and their stories is what I love the most. I’m not that keen on meeting new people in general. My introverted part feels safer with the people I already know. New workplace is where I am forced to meet new people though and I like it. Buying new clothes doesn’t make me nowhere nearly as excited as learning new things.
In my adult life I often find myself starting something new around September time. I even stubbornly buy academic diary almost every year. Some old habits never die. There is no need for them to die either ;)
What will I be learning this year? Looks like I will be back into cryptoverse. For starters I will be discovering all about new chain – dogechain evm that launched in early August 2022.
Thanks to some crypto connections I kept alive even during my quiet online months I have just found out that some of our most loved crypto projects on currently troubled SmartBCH have or soon will lounch on dogechain!
Which projects are they?
@kasumi , the dev behind the MistSwap have already launched:
new dex - Doge Money
domain naming services - DNS on dogechain.
I have joined the Dogmoney TG and I invite you guys to join too. For more info about the new products head over to:
https://docs.dogmoney.money/tokenomics/
Those of you, who still hold Mist tokens, here is something for you:
https://docs.dogmoney.money/#mistswap-users-welcome
At the moment the interface for swapping is not yet ready, but we can swap Mist for Dogemoney directly with Kasumi.
Jay, who developed smartscan.cash for SmartBCH, as well as 1st and most popular marketplace on SmartBCH will soon launch Oasis on dogechain too. He has some nice surprises for us in the making too!
Edit [28/08/2022] Oasis Marketplace has launched on dogechain yesterday evening. Here are the links to the Telegram Group and Website. Come say hello guys!
I hear that NFTC team is also planning to release their newest collection on dogechain rather than previously considered Polygon.
Hearing the news, my excitement about going back to school has sparked again. This weekend most of my local salsa pals are off to Berlin for a salsa congress. I was already worrying what will I be doing with myself while everyone is away. Well, it looks like I have my weekend planned. I will be reading, learning and writing! Oh… and some yoga on the paddle boards in between 😉
Watch this space guys! I will be sharing all that I have learned about dogechain and its project in my future articles.
Until next time 💙
End of summer is a bit sad for me. As an island girl I do love the sun and sea. Thankfully it seems that despite the rains coming in, Mr. Sun is still here to play for a bit. I am making the most of the remaining sunny days for banking on my tan.
