How to protect yourself against Covid-19

Before writing about how to protect yourself against Covid-19, it is very important to first write about Covid-19 in general.

What is Covid-19?

Covid-19 means Corona virus disease 2019. Why Corona virus is a large family of virus like severe acute respiratory syndrom (SARS), middle East respiratory syndrom ( MERS) and Corona virus disease 2019 (Covid-19) and it's a disease that affect the respiratory system of humans.

Symptom of covid-19

There are various symptoms of the disease according to World Health Organisation (WHO) and they are;

1. Dry cough

2. Difficulty in breathing

3. Shivering/shaking

4. Body pain

5. Headache

6. Sore throat

7. Fever

8. Diarrhoea/abdominal pain

9. Running nose/catarrh

10. Fatigue

How to protect yourself from Covid-19

According to World Health Organisation, the following are ways to protect yourself against Covid-19 and they are:

1. Avoid touching your face

2. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing

3. Stay home if you feel unwell

4. Wear face mask in public

5. Maintain at least 1 metre distance between you and people coughing/sneezing

6. Wash your hands regularly with soap and running water or clean them with alcohol base hand wash

If the above are adhere to by citizens of various countries, the rate of spreading the disease will be low and as such, this will also better the health of everybody in the society and it may also interest you to note that the government of the country also have major role to play in cubbing the spread of the virus by sensitising their citizens and also provide palliative to citizens considering the fact that majority of people will loose their jobs during this pandemic period. To also reduce job loss, some industries will also integrate in IT where their workers can work remotely from home so as to reduce unemployment and also reduce public gatherings.
