It is the inner voice that tells you'what to do,or nags you when you did something contrary to your beliefs or convictions.Remember that while it is the true that giving in to temptation leads to a dishonorable life, it is also true that it gives a person the opportunity to do right. Consistently choosing to do what is right leads to a life of honor and integrity.Since people face temptations everyday and at the least expected moments,here are some strategies to employ for winning this battle.
Expect Temptation
Since people embrace different beliefs, expect to face views that run opposite yours. Sometimes friends or classmates will force you to do something that is against the rules. You will be pressured to give in for the sake of friendship or belongingness. This is very difficult, especially for most teenagers who feel an intense need for acceptance. But being aware that the compromising situations can confront you anytime, you can plan ahead, you can seek ways to deal with possibilities in advance so that, when you finally face them,you at least have a battle plan.
Seek Help
Foremost is to seek God's help through prayer. The Bible tells us that He is an ever present help in times of trouble. Christians are urge to resist temptations by doing what the Lord Jesus did when He was tempted: He used the Word of God,which is also called the Sword of the Spirit, a weapon for a battle such as this, The result?The enemy stopped tempting Him and fled.
Going to trusted adults for counselor actual urgent physical help is also a wise option. Remember that the primary responsibility of a adults (like parents and teachers) is to secure you or keep you from harm. Do not attempt to deal with difficult situations alone. Flee Away
A wise people recognize that there are times when retreat is the best option.Get out of the scene fast. Mark twain said that the surest protection against temptation is cowardice. In the Old testament,when Joseph wass educed by the wife of his master Potiphar, he did what a real man should do-he fled! ( Men of weaker disposition would easily give in to such temptation)If you already know the people and place that would compromise the honorable life that you want to lead, stay away from them. It will help you resolve to do what is right by not getting your self into the same path as the troublemakers
Just say 'No"
This is difficult at times, especially when we rack our brains trying to come up with explanation to our refusal to do something or somebody urges you to do wrong, refusal needs no explanation.Just say "No" and walkaway . It is the shortest, safest and most convenient word you can utter.
