Things I do When I get Sad

Sadness is something that comes to you without your permission. Unlike happiness you get the sadness as an uninvited guest. And you have no idea on how to get rid of the sadness.

I thought I should be writing some article on how I deal with the sadness or how I handle the sadness with various activities that keeps me engaged. So I hope people find the below content useful to tackle their own sadness.

Here are some of the things that I do when I get sad.

Write

You may feel that writing is boring. But writing works. You are forced to write what you feel into the words. And this habit in itself is going to make it easy for you to have control over your thought horse which is out of your control.

Your writing would give you means to control the thoughts and the feelings that leads to more sadness. You write them down and get them out of the memory. This habit or say this approach in itself can be very useful when dealing with your own therapy.

Writing works not just to get rid of sadness but it can also help those who are depressed and can't think of channeling their thoughts. So you can find the writing helping you to set a mood for yourself in the long run. This also helps you move ahead from your past problems.

In short, writing works, and you have to start writing.

Movement

When you are moving your body is producing the chemicals that helps you get rid of various brain toxins and the toxins that are found within the body to reduce the strain. So in case of stress the best thing you can do is keep moving.

Make sure to walk as much as you can. Make sure to also run if your body allows. When you do those movements you get to make better health variables favoring your mood. And this in turn gets you out of the sadness that you are going to be dealing with in long term.

Do you like walking in the park? If yes, do so. And you would love to go for trekking solo? You should do that too. This way you would have something for your mind to go over. So always have some sort of the movement.

If you lack movement you are going to get struggled with the stagnant mind and the body.

Help Others

Sometimes you end up in endless loop of your own problems. And you don't see much future in your own actions. And in such case it's always a better idea to just learn to help others. A lot of people can tell you that by helping other people life gives you meaning to forget your own problems.

Sometimes you don't have to drag your own story when it has reached it's point. But you can help someone else have some meaning in their own story. Find yourself as a catalyst and understand that you have a place in this world you just have to go with the flow.

Helping others does not mean forgetting your own life. It just means you have to learn to draw the line on how much to help and then within that limit you choose to help.

Do Things Without Calculating it's Output

A lot of times frustration and the sadness is because we have a lot of expectations. Just because we do things we expect the outcome out of it as well. Which is something we are not supposed to go all the time.

You have to continue to do things and make sure that you don't struggle with the feeling of not getting output. So make sure to don't do things by calculating it's output.

Get A Hobby

As you move ahead with the age you need some sort of hobby. And it's always a good idea to have hobby that can scale. I personally prefer to spend time doing the sketches and some of the time I prefer to post those sketches on social media. Having hobby definitely helps long term. It gets you out of the sadness and depression.

Life gives you sadness when you have expectations. Just have dreams and work for those dreams. You would not be spending time in depression and sad feelings.

Conclusion

Never spend time ruminating on the past. Make sure to keep yourself so much engaged that you would have no reason to stay depression or spending time in the sadness. Just keep moving, no matter what.
