How Selling NFTs can be Side Hustle
NFTs are being sold like a hot cake. Like every day I read about someone who sold NFTs and get out of their debt.
Some of the people are continued to sell what they had 1 year back.
Like this you can imagine NFTs are being sold in the market where they can earn recurring way. This is possible thanks to the improvements in the blockchain tech.
Imagine you are a digital artist or even the paper sketcher or artist who wants to sell his art on the web. And making NFT out of such art is going to be making more money for you.
If you make 10 copies of your art and make it rare. You get to sell them in the marketplace. Imagine if the new buyer wants to buy and then later sell that art. As you can see even the resold art would earn you some percentages in marketplace.
If this is how the market works and it earns the artists for their hard work and skills, why not start selling the NFTs as a side hustle?
Let's talk about it how and what type of NFTs can be sold.
Selling Art NFTs
Market is flooded with bad art. I know art is subjective but the monkey, cats, pixelated avatars are boring and have zero value in my eyes.
So how about we present better art? You have skills to make the art. So if you can put on that art into the marketplace. You can easily sell it online.
If you have digital art skills, making an art and then converting into the NFT would be even more easier. In case of paper art, that would require scan and then converting to NFT a bit more time.
But if you can sell your art online then you can turn the image into NFT and then sell on marketplaces like Opensea, Solana market, Oasis etc. You name the blockchain and there is going to be marketplace for NFTs.
Selling such NFTs may not happen overnight. You have to wait for buyers and their preference for the art. You just have to experiment with what can be sold.
Game Characters or Items as an NFT
These days a lot of blockchain games are coming out. They allow you to buy rare game characters option. You can also customize in game characters and turn them into NFT.
Adding the attributes, winning ratio and the performance stats to these character NFTs make them more powerful. And then they can be sold in internal marketplace.
This is the future of many online games in near future. You can't create them but you can work on existing of those items and sell them after some time. This is one of the way you can make money.
Though this is volatile market, you have to take actions at the right time and find the balance on when to make and sell these items.
Selling Audio & Video Files as NFT
As of now there are not many marketplaces for the audio and video NFT but there is going to be soon. You would find that voices and videos of celebrities are going to be rare as we all age and die some day.
So having the means to turn the content of those formats into NFT and making it limited items to be sold, that can make up a lot of values. You can think of it like antique market price segment like this.
This is yet to be explored industry which would soon expand and this could make you a good amount of money. I'd recommend you to check this space and see if in near future it can make you money.
Access as NFT
Do you have access to certain things? Like say you have rented place for 1 day a week? You can turn such type of things into NFT too. You would get people who would want such things.
This is like renting car as an NFT or room or even the various types of the access limited spaces which can be sold for the NFTs.
This space too is not yet explored much but the govt, museum and many places are thinking of this as making the most out of such places and wish to earn from them in these NFTs.
I am going to keep an eye on this as it gets more profitable and who knows I may be able to afford this.
What do you think?
Side hustle requires a lot of work to earn money. But NFTs are something you can make by investing once or twice and then they can generate more money as time goes on.
I wonder what is your opinion on using NFTs as a side hustle?
I'd appreciate your comments. :)
