"Regrets never comes first".
There are lot of people I know who are living their lives to the fullest to the extent that they overdo everything. Although, it's not bad to enjoy life, to have fun and all, but we must bear in mind its consequences.
Instances like youths over-using illegal drugs, smokes as if there's no tomorrow, drinks alcoholic beverages beyond one's limit. Does this really means being free? And enjoying life? I bet it's not.
It's crystal clear the effect of too much intake of vices to human health. It's like cremating yourself or digging up your own grave.
A concrete example of which, a man in his 20's driving along the busy road of Candon City, Ilocos Sur with the spirit of drugs and alcohol. While on his way home, he didn't notice the truck parked on the left shoulder of the highway when he suddenly drove faster towards the said shoulder. Bumped behind the truck. Suffered not just a small bone crack, but his head were even torn into pieces.
Now let me ask you, Is that the way you wanted to die? Not having a decent death? Dying on the cold road with a crushed face? Leaving your family with a heavy heart? Not even thanking them for raising a child like you?
Certainly, there are lot of people who values you, who loves you, and there you are, wasting your life to unworthy things.
Remember how your mother carried you in his womb for nine months. Remember how your father carried you in his mind since the day you were born and took responsibilities to raised you well. How your family, dressed you, feed you, sent you to school to give you brighter future, but there you are, throwing and dumping life in the garbage bin.
You may not realize the essence of your life but your family do, your parents do.
See how parents grieve when there child dies? How they stay up all night crying and blaming themselves?
That's how essential we, their kids, mean to them.
So, isn't it fulfilling to see yourself in the near future finishing school, getting a professional license, building your own home and having cars, being successful in your chosen career, and most importantly seeing your proud parents smiling at you and saying "job well done my son/my daughter"
Our parents treat us as if we were the most fragile thing alive. So, who are we to just dump our life ourselves? Who are we not to consider how essential we mean to our family?
"Live while you're young". Self-contentment is where happiness starts. And living the life while we were young doesn't mean living a life doing insignificant things. It is not bad to relax, to chill, to hang out with acquaintances however we must know how to control ourselves and be mindful of our limits.
My friend, do not ever take life for granted. Cherish it. Treasure it. Take care of it
Remember that our time here in this world is limited. No one can foresee when will we die aside from God above. So while we are alive, we must to cherish ourselves as much as we treasure our loved ones.
