A mother silent scream Being a housewife and at the same time, a stay at home Mom without a maid nor a helper is really stressing. Let us all be honest with the fact that, yes, being married and having kids are one of happiest moments of our lives yet we cannot hide the fact that we tend to tell ourselves 'I'm tired and I badly needed a rest" while reminiscing all the things we used to do and enjoy. If you see a Mother in social media posting some pictures of her outside all by herself, be able to work out, having a decent meal and being able to go to spas and salons. Believe me, that Mother has a village!  How about us who are less privilege having no back up? Its far different, It is not the same as the situation of the fortunate ones, only the moment when our kids are at deep slumber, that's the only time we get to have time, alone. But, instead of resting and getting some fresh air, we are going to take that opportunity to do some chores. In short, we have no time for ourselves.  It is so fulfilling to be a mother. The joy that the kids bring are priceless. The smiles they flashes melt our hearts and gives us motivation and hope. It is something a mother will not trade for something. However, even if we tend to enjoy  taking care of the kids 24/7, it doesn't mean that we are deprived on having a good sleep. Even if we made parenting easy, it doesn't imply that we do not have our own needs. We are separate individuals. We have our own needs also. We need our own time.  This is the saddest thing about being a Mom. You are married, but you are raising your kids alone. From the moment you wake up, up to the moment you'll about to take a sleep, it always MOM. A break is erased from a mother's vocabulary, meaning there is no break at all. When times you wanted to go out, you have no choice but to take the kids with you. You wanted to go out alone but you can't, because of guilt. There's something at the back of her head saying that if you leave them alone and unattended, it would be a disaster and a complete negligence of a mom's duty. Married but raising the kids alone is completely one sided. That's even worse than being a single parent. Atleast if you're a single parent, you knew that you're in this situation, alone. But if you're married, you expect that it should be the two of you, you and your husband. But why are you doing it all by yourself? Mothers need time for themselves, too. We enjoy motherhood, that's 101% accurate. But being stuck in a situation where you have no time looking for youself and giving yourself peace, that's completely unfair and unjust. A mother and a father should be equal when raising the kids. They have both responsibility to the children. I'm aware to the fact that a mother carries the child on her womb for nine months but the father carries his child on her mind lifelong. Then, it is about cooperation. It shouldn't end as an argument to whom the child should be comforted to. But most cases that I sees and I observes, it is always the mother who needed to take care of the child, because as to the norms, it is a Mom's duty to look for their children. If the mother is tired and badly needed a rest, then it should be the time for the father to take over and vice versa. You as a parent shouldn't choose your time on taking your part, you shouldn't look after your kid only when you are convenient. Do your part as a parent.  We don't need to constantly remind dads that its your time. Be sensitive to your wife's needs. Be sensitive to her emotions. Look at her, does she still blooms? Does she have still energy? Does she need time to sleep? Is she tired?  Yes, Mom is tired, really really tired.  She's screaming inside, "I'm tired! I wanted to be alone! I wanted to unwind! I needed a time out. I'm tired! Help me" These are things you cannot hear coming out from her mouth but a Mother Silent Scream are her tears.

Life: precious as it is *"Regrets never comes first".* There are lot of people I know who are living their lives to the fullest to the extent that they overdo everything. Although, it's not bad to enjoy life, to have fun and all, but we must bear in mind its consequences. Instances like youths over-using illegal drugs, smokes as if there's no tomorrow, drinks alcoholic beverages beyond one's limit. Does this really means being free? And enjoying life? I bet it's not. It's crystal clear the effect of too much intake of vices to human health. It's like cremating yourself or digging up your own grave. A concrete example of which, a man in his 20's driving along the busy road of Candon City, Ilocos Sur with the spirit of drugs and alcohol. While on his way home, he didn't notice the truck parked on the left shoulder of the highway when he suddenly drove faster towards the said shoulder. Bumped behind the truck. Suffered not just a small bone crack, but his head were even torn into pieces. Now let me ask you, Is that the way you wanted to die? Not having a decent death? Dying on the cold road with a crushed face? Leaving your family with a heavy heart? Not even thanking them for raising a child like you? Certainly, there are lot of people who values you, who loves you, and there you are, wasting your life to unworthy things. Remember how your mother carried you in his womb for nine months. Remember how your father carried you in his mind since the day you were born and took responsibilities to raised you well. How your family, dressed you, feed you, sent you to school to give you brighter future, but there you are, throwing and dumping life in the garbage bin. You may not realize the essence of your life but your family do, your parents do. See how parents grieve when there child dies? How they stay up all night crying and blaming themselves? That's how essential we, their kids, mean to them. So, isn't it fulfilling to see yourself in the near future finishing school, getting a professional license, building your own home and having cars, being successful in your chosen career, and most importantly seeing your proud parents smiling at you and saying "job well done my son/my daughter" Our parents treat us as if we were the most fragile thing alive. So, who are we to just dump our life ourselves? Who are we not to consider how essential we mean to our family? "Live while you're young". Self-contentment is where happiness starts. And living the life while we were young doesn't mean living a life doing insignificant things. It is not bad to relax, to chill, to hang out with acquaintances however we must know how to control ourselves and be mindful of our limits. My friend, do not ever take life for granted. Cherish it. Treasure it. Take care of it Remember that our time here in this world is limited. No one can foresee when will we die aside from God above. So while we are alive, we must to cherish ourselves as much as we treasure our loved ones.

If it's meant to be...it'll be *"Retreating is not a coward act, rather it portrays how brave you are to cease fire when its time"* Many of us believe in the power of luck but some don't. Many of us argue that fortune tellers really sees our future but some oppose it. Lotto winners think it likely that the prize they got from the lottery game were destined to them, for them, but some says that, it was just a piece of luck. So where must our future lie? Should we just depend it in luck? Great thing about being futuristic is that we tend to imagine a much comfortable life with our treasures, our loved ones for sure. In my point of view, I do not want to be that super rich, I just wanted a comfortable life where I can provide for my kids, for my family, for my parents and ofcourse, for myself. At some point, I even imagined myself being satisfied with foods I do not usually eat but is indeed in my bucketlist, then traveling for some business matters, giving hope also to those in need especially for students applying for financial assistance like I do, buying my kids shoes and clothes, and stuffs like that. How satisfying it is! It's making me jump over time again. So much for that, there's this saying that I often think about, *"If it's meant to be... It'll be - J.M Barrie".* And as defined, *if something is meant to be, it seems certain to happen, usually because it has been decided by God or other forces that people believe cannot be controlled.* In short, if its for you, it'll be for you, if not, it's not for you. Like I mentioned in my previous article I'm currently taking up the course Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. And to tell you honestly, I am really struggling not just a bit, but a way lot more, most especially to our new setting. Online class makes it even more hard to learn accounting. However, still grateful for some of my friends who stood up and are still standing beside me and are willing to lend me a helping hand and shoulders to lean on. I owe you a lot guys. I wouldn't be as confident as I am now without you. Thank you for pushing me and believing that I can. Before, I really pushed myself to study and study and study and study beyond my capabilities. To the extent that I even forget to eat, to sleep, to take a nap and rest. But there's this someone that made me realize that it's not bad to exert effort on studies but as human being, we all deserve a break. That we should learn to cease fire. That we should learn the concept of balancing. Studying harder and setting aside your health is like killing yourself softly. He then left something ,"Ourselves are the most precious thing, and therefore, we must take care of it above anything" and as the common saying goes, "health is wealth". God knows how I wanted to have that PRC license. It's indeed my dream to become professional which I wanted to turn into reality. A dream that would give me hope in this world full of negativities and doubts. I do not know what the future holds but I am willing to take risks. But if being a CPA it's not really for me, then it'll be time to embrace it wholeheartedly. *I believe that God has a better plan.* He is whom we should hold unto, not just on mere LUCK. He will never leave us hanging, instead, He'll lead our path and give us direction to what road we should take. CPA or not, i will not stay as a disappointment but, I WILL BRING HONOR TO MY FAMILY, whatever it takes.

Sea captains "How do you see yourself 10 years from now?" This is a common question yet so hard to answer. It's like picking up the appropriate piece to place in a jigsaw puzzle in a jar filled with thousands of choices. However, at the end of the day, you'll still find yourself looking for that piece, desperately. There are times that we get confuse on what path should we take. Things like who should we become, or to what career we should take. Here in the Philippines, higher educational attainment is the most powerful criterion you must have when applying for a job. Meaning, if you have finished a degree, then there's a higher probability of being hired. On the other hand, if you are not a degree holder, then I'm certain, there's a lower chance of having that position you're applying for. That's the reality people usually know... As for me, It is not bad to be born poor, we shouldn't be ashamed of that fact, but if you die poor, then, you're the problem. This life isn't as stable as you thought it to be. It's like riding on a roller coaster, no matter how many turns you take, once you'll find enjoyment, it'll be fun. And as the common phrase goes, "Life is like a wheel", you may be at bottom right now, but with perseverance and hard work, there's a greater chance of reaching the top in no time. Take the story of Henry Sy, the owner of SM, as an inspiration. Before he became one of the richest people alive, he started from the bottom. He used to clean, polish shoes. Despite having a hard life, he didn't stop there, he worked hard to escape to the mud he was placed on. And look how successful he became. The SM is one of the successful malls we have now. It's a clearer picture of how life turns around at some point in time. Let's cut the mentality that if you are born poor, you'll destined to die poor. "Goals are meant to be reached". Being positive is what we ought to be. People who have the courage to take risks just to reach the goal and have fighting spirits, tend to have a brighter future ahead compare to those individuals who do nothing to attain life improvement. Professionals or not, we all wanted to become successful in the near future. But the road to gain the title is a bit rocky and somewhat steep. As what we have been told, life will never be easy to deal with. Probably, some of our plans, most of it rather, might not go along the way we wished it to be. That's life. It'll challenge us until we learn how to manage those dares and turn it into stepping stone towards our goals. As per the cartoon movie Boss Baby, "The path to success isn’t a straight line, but rather like a wild ride, like a ship at sea, and you’re a sea captain taming a turbulent ocean." Let's claim it. *10 years from now, we will all become successful*!

Taking up the rough road... "Isang kahig, isang tuka" kung ilarawan ang buhay namin. I belong to a lower class family. My father is a farmer, and i am so proud of him beyond words. This is the reason why I hate this someone who do not have mercy on farmers. Imagine isang kilo ng palay gustong gawin 5 pesos lang?. To tell you honestly, halos walang pahinga yung tatay ko. Ni halos hindi sya kumakain para lang mapalaki yung mga palay na tinanim niya. Hindi basta basta ang trabaho po sa bukid. I witnessed how he cried nung nasalanta tayo ng bagyo. Imagined sampung sakong palay lang po ang naani nya at ikakasya namin yun sa isang taon. That's how hard our life is. But what can I do? I'm just 19 years old, jobless thus penniless. Walang magawa to help my parents aside from helping them sa bukid. That's all I can do. However, my father makes sure that I'll do not end up having a hard life as what they have experienced since the day they were born. So he sent me to school. And here I am now, a second year student taking up the course Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and striving to have that CPA title. I even remember how i made a promise to my grandmother to treat her to a classy restaurant when I'll graduate college, unfortunately, she passed away 2 years ago before I finished my senior high school. Sad, isn't it? She always told me how she suffered from abusive people. How rich people maltreated her. And that's what's makes me even mad to some wealthy ones who do not know how to treat poor people like us, how to be nice perhaps. But what's more amazing is not only the fact that my grandma endured all those hurtful words thrown to her, that is, she never planted any hate deep down into her heart to people who belittled her. Her teaching is "to forgive people even if they do not ask for forgiveness, that way you can live a peaceful life, without anything burdens you". Gosh. Im literally crying right now. *Deep sigh. Ganun talaga ang buhay e, the rich becomes richer and the poor becomes poorer. Yet, di naman talaga masamang maging mahirap. Life is not a race, and therefore, you must grab all the opportunities before its too late. Like what im doing right now, trying and doing anything to make some money to support my studies. May god bless us all. Ps: sorry sa grammar ko po. Hehe
