Iloilo is also called the “Heart of the Philippines” because of its geographical features. Iloilo province is a part of Panay Island, a heart-shaped island found right in the middle of the Philippines.

Let's talk about Food

Iloilo has a lot of delicious dishes and delicacies, but the most well known that's originally made in Iloilo is the Lapaz Batchoy.

This Ilonggo delicacy is typically made with miki noodles, pork meat and innards, beef loin, crushed chicharon, and toasted garlic. Every sip of the hot, slightly oily soup brings feelings of nativeness, warmth, and rustic comfort.

It is recommended that if you visit Iloilo City you must try this savory dish.

Let's talk about the Festival

Iloilo has a well known festival too. Dinagyang Festival is one of the Philippines’ biggest religious and cultural festivals that transforms Iloilo City into one big venue for spectacle and merry making.

Dinagyang is a Hiligaynon word that means “merrymaking.”

The Esplanade is a promenade along the Iloilo river. Here you’ll see the joggers, bikers, or simply walking to enjoy the outdoors and the views. 

Walk in Iloilo's Esplanade where you can see the beauty of Iloilo river beside. The best time to start your walk along this landscaped promenade is during late afternoons to catch the beautiful sunset view.

Nightlife in the City

Smallville Complex is Iloilo's nightlife capital and a popular dining and entertainment hub where Ilonggos and visitors go to eat, drink, and spend a fun night out in the city. It is located along Diversion Road in Mandurriao District, Iloilo City.

Iloilo is a livable city to live. It has a lot to offer to the tourists. The lifestyle in Iloilo is like living the blend of old and contemporary way.
