“A Quick Day Out”
Oh, how time flies so fast, I didn’t notice it’s almost a week now after my last blog.
This article for today is kinda late already since what I will share with you today is about our quick day out last Friday.
Last Friday, we had an unexpected day out, after receiving a message regarding the National ID registration for 5 years old and above, we decided to have our eldest son, Near, to get register. Since it was the last day of filling too, we went there a little late in the morning.
My cousin, who’s a secretary in our barangay accompanied us so she could see if she could help up if ever we lack some documents for the requirements, that’s how supportive she is as my best friend/ sister/ cousin.
Before going to the venue which is on the astrodome located at the hometown’s plaza, we decided to bring my youngest too. My husband was there to take care of Damien and the day serves as our little bonding time too after being locked up in our gates due to the scare of Covid.
Surprisingly, as we arrived at the location, we saw the local firefighters in the vicinity. We thought the registration for the National ID was canceled. But before concluding, we checked inside the astrodome first and we were wrong. Near and I with my cousin went inside and Damien and his father were left to watch over the Firefighters.
We were giggling as we saw how Damien’s face turned so happy as he saw face-to-face his idols, the firemen, and the firetruck.
I honestly feel sorry about this little boy, since he was born a year before Covid, he was locked at home and didn’t experience strolling around the parks or malls for a longer period. He wasn’t able to enjoy traveling and having fun in the outside world, outside the fence of our compound freely.
But last Friday, destiny made its way to make this little boy happy.
The registration was a little quick to finish since it was the last day, only a few unregistered people came by to fill up. But before leaving the plaza, we first walked and gazed at the peaceful place.
It was so different from the scenes I witnessed in the plaza before the Covid-scare arises. Unlike before where it was full of people hanging out with their friends, I only saw a few, and most of them have transactions on the venue.
Some spots were full of fallen dried leaves, and all I can do was to take shots of the view before leaving.
And of course, Damien took the opportunity to be pictured with the firetruck, and now he keeps on saying that he wants to be a fireman someday, that he will kill the fire with water too.
And on that day, it wasn’t a just simple meet of the firefighters, because on that day, they held a fire drill simulation and Damien had witnessed them all. That’s why he was aware that firefighters are killing fire by water because he saw how they do it face-to-face.
During the registration of Near, I let my husband take my phone and told him to capture some shots if something is interesting so I could put it here.
And look, here’s what our little Damien had witnessed.
He was so happy that day and I am sure of it. And as we saw some of the firefighters at the seminar we attended the last time in the Daycare’s mini-tour, they recognized us and greeted us cheerfully too, and waved goodbye.
However, as we ride to the tricycle, my cousin suddenly told the driver to take us to the “New Market”. We were full of questions why?
And we dropped by on that mobile. Yes, you’re seeing it right, we have Jollibee on wheels here in our hometown, finally!
She gave us a treat, we had a yum burger and fries for the kids, it was almost noontime when we got there and it was so hot due to the weather.
But it was all worth it, we truly miss the ‘langhap sarap’ feels of Jollibee.
But when we take an order, we heard the staff talking about their last day. We were unsure if the Jollibee on wheels was having its last day last Friday. If it was true, we’re lucky we have bought before they leave.
Honestly, I have had this article in my drafts for three days now, but I can’t find time to finish it quickly. I am occupied the past few days, and I am grateful I was able to take a break.
Despite the tiring day, we had last Friday, we were just fortunate to make memories on that simple day out, it was unexpected, unplanned but everything fell into its place.
Near got registered and will just wait for his ID, while Damien saw his idols in person that made him even happy and cheerful!
Sometimes great things and moments indeed happen unexpectedly and why it happens is because it gives us moments to cherish and be thankful for.
Thank you for reading, may you have a wonderful time!
