Three years ago today (2018), I flew ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐๐จ ๐๐ข๐ซ from Subang to Hat Yai. Malaysians I met in Hat Yai were quite surprised that I opted to fly, rather than drive or take the bus/train, which are the more common modes of transport among us. I wonder when we can fly again. When the time comes, flying won't be cheap. Also, I have a feeling that young children today won't even know what is an aircraft. What a pity. #Travel

4 years ago today (2017) I was on my 3rd beach vacation for the year. Yea, so early in the year already my 3rd beach! You can imagine how tanned I was. Ipoh is well known for its food but this bowl of ๐๐๐ข ๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ง (flat rice noodles soup with shredded chicken) really 'tak boleh' (cannot) in terms of preparation and presentation. Look how it's garnished with burnt fried onions. Supposed to be golden brown. Luckily, the saving grace is its flavour. #Food

Unappealing-looking dimsum of 'siew mai' and fish balls, food court standard, for supper. Dimsum is actually common breakfast food, esepcially among the Cantonese community. I remember some of my rich friends would have dimsum for breakfast before attending morning classes. LOL #Food

What's for supper if not curry noodles? This one is an uncommon preparation as crispy pork lard (chu yau char/ ็ชๆฒนๆธฃ) is added to the curry broth. Strange, huh? It was my first experience with ็ชๆฒนๆธฃ in my curry as well. LOL #Food

Physical body planted at my work station but mind has wandered off to ๐ณ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐. This was 2 years ago (2019) at Cenang Beach. Although I have visited Langkawi multiple times, I always took a flight, flying from Subang Airport. This trip was by bus from Ipoh then ferry from Kuala Perlis. When can we travel again? Went to the bank to deposit a wad of cash via the machine, all the large notes that I had on me. The notes were hardly new, and I thought, whatever that's rejected will be my money for the week. 3 years ago today (30th March, 2018) @ ๐ณ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐๐๐. I remember that it was a luxurious trip, where I stayed at a high-end resort for a couple of nights. A sunset tour on this boat, with sea jacuzzi and dinner on board, was part of the package. Whether one visits Langkawi and splurge or go on a shoe-string budget, there surely are plenty of memories to create and take home. #Travel

Super sleepy, but eat first. This is pork fried noodles, with good 'wok hei' (breath of the wok). As this is a pork dish, it is obviously off limits to Muslims. This is 'wet' popiah. A street food where I come from, Malaysia. This is regularly found at night markets. Stuffed primarily with turnip strips and fried shrimps, it is best eaten as is or with chilli/tomato sauce. The difference betten a good or not so good popiah, in my opinion, is in the thickness of the wrap. This one was just nice. #FoodPhotography
