FOODlog #317: High School Friend's Wedding
Had a friend from high school get married the other day. Attended his weeding with some other friends and got to see lots of high school friends that I haven't seen in a long time. Managed to catch up and chat with a few of them which was really great.
It was a beautiful wedding with lots of laughter and celebration. The door gift was a really nice piece of artistic touch. It was a medieval looking key with a nice note on it and a box of chocolates.
The food was also amazing especially the starter which had prawns, fish, and a sausage like scotch egg but the yolk was a salted egg yolk which was super savory and packed full of umami flavors.
Another dish that was really good were the iberico barbecue pork ribs. Not a common dish at weddings but this guy made it happen and everybody seemed to be happy getting their hands dirty even all dressed up for a wedding. It did come with a pair of plastic glove each for everyone so that was really thoughtful and practical.
There was also fried rice which was cooked perfectly. I always admire people who cook fried rice especially in massive batches as I know how difficult it is to pull off a seemingly simple dish.
Had a really great time being a part of the wedding and to many more years of good happenings for the couple 🙌
Congrats to the newly wed.
