FOODlog #265: Spicy Dumplings & Rice Vermicelli Noodles

After having rice for lunch fit do many days, my Filipino colleague cooked some noodles. He made a stir fried rice vermicelli (mihun) dish that was super delicious.

It had chicken slices, cabbage, and carrots. I'm not too sure what else he added but it tasted like the seasonings had soy sauce and oyster sauce in it. There was also fresh coriander in it which I don't really like but overall the dish was so good that I ignored the coriander taste.

It was savory from the chicken and sweetness came from the cabbage and carrots. The noodles were perfectly cooked; not crunchy or mushy.

He also cooked some frozen dumplings on the flat top making it crispy and chewy at the same time. There were two flavors, shrimp dumplings and kimchi dumplings. Both were really nice. He topped it with a chili and shrimp oil and garnished it with chopped coriander giving it a nice freshness.

We had the fried rice vermicelli and dumplings together and the chili oil made the whole meal very appetising and delicious.
