FOODlog #178: Cakes & Drinks

The perks of working in a cafe is that you're never short of food. Not only that but you get to eat cakes that are pass the dates to serve customers which are perfectly fine actually but to paying customers we always ensure they get the best, leaving us with lots of cake to eat.

Another thing we get to have a lot are drinks. We get to have at least 2 cups of either coffee, tea, or chocolate per day which I normally only have like 1-2 cups of chocolate per week. Since I don't drink coffee, I guess I'm not utilising this perk fully but glad I get to have hot or iced chocolate whenever I feel like it 😊

Some other free desserts I got to take home so far are their cream puffs. I got to bring them home for my wife and mum and they loved their matcha cream puff and chocolate cream puff. They were really rich and delicious to eat.

Cakes that I've tried so far and also got to take home 2 slices of cake last week for my friends to try were banana and peanut butter cake and a chocolate cake. Another one I've tried here is the Earl Grey and lychee flavor which is not so sweet and a nice mild flavored cake.

Some other drinks I've tried are their in-house made combucha. It's my first time trying combucha and I get why it's such a popular drink. Taste like sparkling wine, very refreshing.

I've also got to try a drink called hojicha which is roasted matcha leaves. An interesting drink and especially delicious when it's warm.

Lots of yummy and new things to try which I'm sure I'll get sick of it as time goes by 😂
