FOODlog #177: Spicy Ramyeon
I think I'm gaining weight after these few weeks of working in a kitchen brigade again. Our lunches have been the time we look forward to coz we get to cook and eat stuff that we like and enjoy.
One of the meals, my Filipino colleague cooked some spicy Ramyeon noodles and used whatever was in the cafe for the rest of the dish. It turned out to be such a pretty ensemble of ingredients all in one bowl.
He cooked some grilled broccoli which gave it a nice char flavor as well as a bright green color for the dish. Some fried mandu (dumplings) which were frozen so not from scratch coz that'll take the whole day to make.
We also got a poached egg and grilled chicken thigh which both ingredients are served at the cafe.
Its then topped with some fresh spring onions and then its ready to serve and eaten.
The noodles and broth were instant ramyeon so all it needed was some hot boiling water and the seasoning packet from the instant noodles pack.
It was a delicious bowl of noodles. Warm and spicy which was especially nice since it has been a cold and rainy season.
