FOODlog #162: Chicken Rice & Roasted Pork Rice
There was a public holiday last Friday here in Malaysia, so me and my friends went to play badminton together at a local badminton court. After playing we went for lunch together.
We ate a hawker stall area nearby where I live. There weren't many stalls open maybe due to the public holiday so I ordered for myself and my son food from the chicken rice stall.
I ordered for myself roasted pork and barbecue pork with rice (Siew Yuk & Char Siew). The roasted pork was tasty and the skin crispy and the barbecue pork was also tender and had a nice sweet barbecue glaze on it. It's sliced into bite size pieces and comes with a plate or rice and a side of chicken soup.
The chicken soup was also really nice. The chicken flavor was very prominent and the soup was clear and really refreshing. They also serve the meal with a dipping sauce of a sourish chili sauce which pairs really nicely with the meat.
For my son I ordered him a plate of chicken rice. It's the same as my meal except instead of pork, it's chicken. The chicken was very tender and flavorful. He managed to finish almost the whole meal by himself.
What a wonderful day spent with my son and our friends.
