FOODlog #144: Nasi Kandar Malaysia
Last Saturday me and some of my friends went for basketball. It's been quite some time since we last went for basketball due to busy schedules as well as terrible weather in the evenings.
After basketball we went for dinner at our go-to place we usually head to after playing. I really love their 'Nasi Kandar' which is an assortment of curry and dishes you can choose from to have together with rice. They serve really good curry that's flavorful and well balanced in terms of their spices and also the spiciness level of their curry suits my tastebuds.
I order what I usually order when I go there which was their 'Ayam Bawang' which is onions cooked down to a delicious sweet paste together with various Indian spices and cooked together with chicken.
The side of vegetable I got was stir-fried cabbage with turmeric and I topped my rice with a mix of their curries which is about 6-7 of their curries including fish base curry, mutton curry, chicken curry, and other type of curries. They have sweet and savory types of curries and all of the mix into the rice is absolutely amazing!
They also serve other types of food and my wife order their Malay Thai stir fry of 'Daging Padprik' which is beef cooked with vegetables and chili with a sweet, savory, and spicy gravy. She said it was really delicious and the beef was nice and tender.
Super delicious and satisfying meal that hugs you from the inside out. Love that we have access to delicious and affordable curry here in Malaysia.
