FOODlog #142: Japanese Curry with Chicken & Potatoes
Mum cooked some delicious Japanese curry last week. She cooks for the family Japenese curry every now and then coz we love it and it's fairly inexpensive to make since we get a ready made Japanese curry stock block and all you need to do is adding in water and other ingredients you like.
For this round she cooked the curry with chicken, potatoes, carrots, and onions. I do make this dish too with the exact same ingredients but for some reason when my Mum cooks it, it taste better than when I cook it. She also adds some salt to taste to the dish although the curry is already very tasty but sometimes it needs a little extra salt.
The chicken were tender and flavorful from all the stewing in the curry. The vegetables like the carrots and potatoes were soft and tender. The curry was so yummy and we ate this with white steamed rice.
We also had some stir fried vegetables with garlic and oyster sauce.
I really love the Japanese culture everything from their food, the way they design their homes, their video games, anime, and their lifestyle. It's one of the cultures I really admire and try to adopt some of their approach to life especially their cleanliness, organizing of their homes, everything seems to have a purpose when it comes to their lifestyle.
