One of my favorite dishes that my Mum makes from time to time is this steamed pork belly slices with salted fish and ginger. It is a popular Chinese dish that is not only delicious to eat but easy to make.

You only need 4 ingredients to make this dish which is pork belly, salted fish, ginger, and sesame oil.

First you'll need to fry the salted fish and ginger in some oil. Thinly sliced ginger is added into a wok/pan with some heated oil along with the slices of salted fish. Fry these 2 ingredients on medium low hear for a couple of minutes until fragrant and aromatic then remove them from the heat and set aside for later.

Next, season the pork belly with some salt and let it marinade for about 10-15 minutes. Be sparing with the salt as there will be the salted fish added to the dish later which will make the dish have enough salt.

Slice the pork belly thinly about a centimeter thick or if you can cut even thinner then do so. In a tray or any serving dish, fan out a layer of pork belly on the tray. After which, spread a layer of the ginger and salted fish on top of the pork belly and repeat doing so as if you were making a lasagna.

Cook it in steamer for 10-12 minutes and you're done. Serve this dish with white steamed rice and enjoy. Super delicious and an authentic Chinese Malaysian dish that's a crowd favorite.
