Hello guys. My mother keeps telling me to drink warm water first thing in the morning and before going to bed. She said it is good for me cause it has many benefits. So I wonder, what are those benefits that I can get when I drink warm or hot water? That is why I did a little research and I am really amazed by what I discovered. That is why I made this article and hope to share it with you.

We all know that water is very essential to our everyday lives. We know that drinking water holds our bodies healthy and hydrated.

But did you know that drinking warm water is more beneficial compared to cold water? Let's tackle about the benefits of drinking warm water one by one.

1. Relieves Nasal Congestion

Whilst drinking warm water, you take in vapor, which can help relax the congestion in your nasal passageway. Moreover, the warm water you drink will provide warmth to the mucus membranes and helps heal a sore throat.

2. Aids Digestion

Hot or warm water helps break down the foods quicker than cold water. It helps cure bloating, acidity and gas. Hence, drinking warm water before or after a meal makes digestion quicker.

3. Helps relieve constipation

Drinking warm water may help your intestines contract in which the food waste in your intestines can be able to run out of your body. Regularly drinking warm water may help you to sustain a regular bowel movement.

4. Improves Nervous system and can help lessen stress levels

Not getting adequate water can reduce the feelings of satisfaction, calmness and positive emotions. It can induce negative effects on our nervous system.

Drinking warm water helps boost our moods, brain function and relaxation levels.

(Achalasia is a condition in which your esophagus is having trouble moving down the food you eat into your stomach.)

It eases the symptoms of achalasia since it helps dissolving food particles, especially oily and fatty foods. It helps us swallow and digest foods better.

To be honest the only benefit I read is it might influence the digestion (stomach, intestines are part of that system). Might doesn't mean it helps. The rest you describes are results of a bad digestion which has nothing to do with drinking warm water.

I am not so sure drinking after a meal will help. Before it might make you eat not as much because the brain got the message you "ate". I assume warm water is better for the stomach than cold but some say it's the same if it comes too food.

Unfortunately, warm water never solved my observation problems. I wish it was true.

Thanks for dropping by and sharing your opinions. I haven't tried it yet but I think when you drink warm water after a meal, it might also help absorb the food we eat more quickly. Some say don't drink cold water after you eat greasy foods 'cause the oil will build up in the intestines, so instead of cold water drink tepid or warm water.
