Hmmm...
I don't know which day is the worst Happy Father's day or Happy Valentine's day. Ironically turns out to be a so-not-happy-day for most of the lots, a day where babymamas get reminded of the fact that the swimsuit donor ain't around? Or the day where single moms get the bitter-sweet memories of they divorce? Or a day where the heartbroken, once-upon-a-time helpless romantics are constantly reminded of the love lost.
The days are far sped off behind, but still the black eyes and mascara stained cheeks drifts to a forever reflection of the present.
Hollow hearts housing resentments, vacant of love. Where darkness puts the do not disturb sign, chasing off excitement and creativity.
Where the pen says to paper, within lies so many thoughts but i can't find ink to put in the right words. Where the heart screams for inspiration but the brain is just about ready to retire.
Have you ever felt uninspired to write? But yet you know you have to, because a part of your dream's marathon lies along your race track to accomplishing your goals.
Been looking around this beautiful beautiful creative community and i tend to think a lot of people are not as overly pumped as usual with that creative juice to draw up a mindblowing or brain shattering piece.
There are numerous reasons why this could be...could it be that you still trying to recover from the grief memory of this great month of love (as it is so eloquently put)?
Well if you in that showboat, you probably not paddling alone. But here is a quick way to get back to the harbour.
Find the passion that got you to write in the first place. I'm not trying to call the kettle black, but let's face it, majority of the reason why we want to write in this platform in the first place, was to be able to round up some bit of earnings on the side to assist with our day jobs, to get by the day or just as a source to create passive income for ourselves.
Those are just summed up surface meanings undercovering the real WHY(s) which have a whole lot of sentimental values to ourselves. It could be a college student trying to get extra money to take care of his or her college prerequisites, a single mom trying to put food on the table and a smile on a kid's face, a father trying to get the stage props to play his role or just someone trying to get financial freedom.
Let your WHY ignite a spark and rekindle the fire within you to find the passion you need to get that boost again. Like a fat kid loves cake, fall back in love with your passion.
If it's your passion to write, the words will definitely walk down the isle, jump the broom stick and come back to you, but if writing wasn't your passion in the first place and was just in only for the potential possibility of earning money, then you need a rehab.
I say rehab in the sense of, you may need to go back into the foetus and be reborn, you need to go on a self finding journey to learn to redirect your passion to writing.
You need to be passionate about writing first in other to get through to the bag. Or you might as well had already put a gag in it before even starting.
What are the chances that you overpressuring yourself?
Do you give yourself a deadline and a to-do list of atleast 2-3 posts a day? If you do, then the chances that you overpressuring yourself is yes.
I know what it's like to set a deadline to complete a task. You get all pressured up to conjur out of the blue new ideas every ticking seconds, with every tick sounding like a countdown to a you-are-fired time bomb.
Setting a goal to write one or two articles a day it's totally amazing, but it doesn't come without pressure. It's definitely a very demanding task which will demand a lot of creativity from you. The brain is a-okay but damn it can't be smart all the time without a few shotdowns.
Such actions will lead to overthinking everything and clogging your brains with too much information. Too much information is brain cells going kabloom, and all of that implosion leads to stress. Stress and creativity don't go together, and nothing astounding will come from it.
Take sometime off, watch a movie, listen to music, jog a lap, take a walk and let your mind breathe.
Meditate, clear your mind...easier said than done, but with practice it's possible.
Ever heard of the saying, a good writer does more reading than writing?
Do a few light reading and some brilliance might just struck.
Still having difficulty?
Do you have sorta little short lived memoirs of brilliance? What if i told you, you could put all of those beautiful thoughts into a finished master print.
Write down every little bit of wonky, plain stupid or good idea into a journal. And after awhile (probably at night or the next day), skim through and you might be able to scrabble up some sense out of the rubic cube.
Often times than most, the topic makes the first form but still the body of the content is still opaque and unknown (probably every writer's nightmare). Build a structure of linking ideas into paragraphs themed with specific purposes and you got a finished piece.
Let's suppose you intend on writing a how to post, you do have to think of a catchy topic phrase, arraign an arch-structure of a content rich summary of the DIY problem in question, identify the problem (or perceived problem) in question, apply some real life applications to the problem in question and you recommend a possible list of solutions. And boom you have an article.
Another joy kill to getting your passion back to writing is when you too much in pursuit for an SEO rich-google page ranking-keyword densed content, it takes out the fun and just leaves the shell of a mechanical bot in it's place. knocking out the fun, creativity and the excitement begins to crawl off little by little. And before you know it, you lose all sense of passion.
The key is to remember your WHY, and to bring your A-game determination and commitment to the table. Don't be the barbeque grill chef who tolls all day for the perfect thanksgiving turkey and ends up missing out on the dinner.
Remember to have fun.
