Hello, my friends, this morning, I just read a short story in a group on Facebook, the short story tells about a person who claims to be God until in the end he was killed by a group of religious fanatics. I think the short story has a deep meaning. On the previous day, I had also pondered about the purpose of life, then an answer crossed my mind. My goal in life is to experience God so that I can find true happiness. True happiness never changes nor is it disturbed by the changing world. In fact, we long for God, whether we realize it or not, God is like a real home that will make us feel at home and comfortable when we are in it.
As we know that religion aims to guide humans towards God, the purpose of religion is very noble. Religion was formed by humans with noble hearts to free humans from suffering and ignorance, but now the purpose of religion has been forgotten, religion is no longer a guide for mankind towards God, but religion has now become God, religion has become a goal worshiped by humans.
In the end, religion has become corrupted, religion has been ridden and used by a group of people for personal gain so that religion becomes a tool to divide society, religion is also often used to oppress and fool its adherents, Religion has become a place to show off worship, and even in some regions, religion also destroys culture.
Even so, Man must long for the true God, there is a great sense of desire to return to God. In a situation that is quite severe like this, many people, especially young people, are not satisfied with the teachings and religious formulas about God, they want to experience God directly. They want to free themselves from oppressive and stupid religious teachings, they are tired of meaningless rituals, they are tired of formulas and concepts that make their heads spin, they need to go home (back to God)
It is time for them to experience God firsthand with the Zen method. Yes, I say this because I have experienced it firsthand. Zen is the path to and experiencing God, meaning that we will be led to the source of everything. Experiencing God is experiencing our true selves, our true selves are completely clear and peaceful, beyond religious barriers and as vast as the universe.
What are our true selves like? our true self is God. It existed before concepts and theories, beyond the dualism of language, fully existed and merged with everything. Our true self is before the mind, this is a pure form of consciousness even though it has no name.
Our true self is infinite, as vast as the universe, formless but filling everything, This is the true cosmic. With the Zen method, we will experience our true self, we will experience God directly, uncomplicated, and very simple.
What are the characteristics of our true selves?
Our true self is empty, devoid of concepts and words, nor identity, but leaves room for all kinds of thoughts and emotions. With that emptiness, then we are very wide open, all things can arise and also disappear.
Our true selves are fully alive and aware, capable of perceiving the world. Without concepts, the true self can touch the world as it really is. Our true self is infinite, with its awareness, we can build a universe within us which is vast. So, empty, vast, conscious, and infinite are the characteristics of the true self. It existed before thought and language were spoken.
So, our true Self is God who is vast and not limited to personality, our true self is the universe. This is known as panpsychism in philosophy. By applying the Zen method, God is no longer a concept created by religious leaders, God becomes a real experience that can change our lives.
In that way, we too will experience liberation, becoming one unit of the universe. This can be called Yoga in Indian tradition, which is the pinnacle of purpose in life. When experiencing God, it feels like returning home, we feel comfortable and at peace. The True Home never leaves us, it's just that we often forget about it all. thank you
