Highlighters
Sitting in front of my lil device thinking what to write, what to share, I saw my highlighters on the table and my fingers started moving. Hoping to write something people will enjoy reading without thinking they're just wasting their time. Why do you write? To express? to share? earn, inspire or motivate? Whom do you write for?
Writer's greatest treasure is their readers. Sometimes because of the pressure to impress our readers, we tend to write things that is not actually from our hearts, or share a content we don't really enjoy. It feels we're oblige to express something because that's what people want which is the opposite to what we believe.
Whom do you write for?
We write for a certain group of people. Sometimes it is for the youth, or the politicians, the poor and powerless, or sometimes for everyone who's interested with a certain topic. Of course we are writing for people. Still, I hope we do not forget that we are writing to express but not to impress. Stay real and true, express yourself in a way you are not being rude and dishonest. Influence people based on facts, inspire people based on your experience or beliefs. There will always be someone who will disagree with you (even with me at this very moment), readers may hate, bash, or stop loving your works but don't let this be the reason for you to write the things you do not want to. People will hate but never do things that will make you hate yourself.
You may be fond of writing stories and some will find it boring, that is actually fine. I, as a reader sometimes find other books boring but still finish it and reflect what I can get from the story. There will aways be room for improvement. Who knows, maybe the plot is boring because the reader just don't get the story as it holds deep meaning. Write every inch of ideas that pops out, after you finish it, polish it. Delete. Add. Revise. Polish. Then, study the feedbacks- positive or negative, weigh it both then decide. I am not always motivated to write, but I never quit.
Writing using English language is sometimes scary as there are readers who will correct every misused or misspelled words, and grammatically incorrect stuffs. Writing is an exercise to our brain so as reading.
Write something not just for people's satisfaction, but to yours as well.
Did you know?
That highlighters are originated from Japan?
Japanese inventor named Yukio Horie created a felt tip pen for the Tokyo Stationery Company, it is not the typical markers that we use today but it is the basis and inspiration of the variety of highlighters.
Write something that will interest people in a way that you yourself is excited to share it. Highlight things that are important, useful, and interesting.

Hello, Charrr! :) Akala ko naka-sub na ako sa'yo, ayun pala hindi. Kaya 'di ko nakikita mga published articles mo sa notifs ko. 😅
Ayun, can't help but to agree with you. In my case, I just don't write for my readers but to lessen the ideas in my mind thru expressing it in a piece of writing. Feeling ko kasi, they will burst when I just let them stay in my mind for too long.
