Litecoin
Litecoin was released via an open-source client on GitHub on October 7, 2011 by Charlie Lee, a Google employee and former Engineering Director at Coinbase. The Litecoin network went live on October 13, 2011.
If we come to the litecoin, There is a strong community base for litecoin first which supports litecoin in a major way, unlike other cryptos. The second reason is from what I know is Litecoin is the go to coin for most crypto beginners.
Ethereum classic
Ethereum Classic maintains the original, unaltered history of the Ethereum network. The Ethereum project's mainnet initially released via Frontier on 30 July 2015. However, due to a hack of a third-party project, the Ethereum Foundation created a new version of the Ethereum mainnet on 20 July 2016 with an irregular state change implemented that erased The DAO theft from the Ethereum blockchain history.
The Ethereum Foundation applied their trademark to the new, altered version of the Ethereum blockchain; Ethereum (ticker: ETH). The older, unaltered version of Ethereum was renamed and continued on as Ethereum Classic
Ethereum Classic Vs Litecoin
Just so u know even a coin is in the top 100 in market cap, it doesn't mean that it is worth buying. All that market cap shows is the price of the coin multiplied by the number of coins. I think that the No 35 on coinmarketcap.com that ethereum classic should not mean anything to u and the rank will be challenged sooner.
If u look at ethereum classic it is just an abandoned product of the main ethereum community due to a hardfork issue and was launched in 2016. Most of the developers and users have stayed on the main ethereum network. Ethereum classic has no growing developers to significantly improve its software. I don't perceive any motivation to think it has long haul potential. I never encourage anybody to put resources into this coin; simply purchase Ethereum and spare yourself a wide range of issues. Also due to the low volume of users and miners Ethereum Classic has been hacked a lot compared to other blockchain it was already hacked 2 or more times in 2020 alone.
It is an entirely different ball game when it is litecoin. It is seen as a store of value as such bitcoin. If bitcoin is gold litecoin is silver. Litecoin also has a large community of miners and users following it which makes it very hard to hack. In the event that anything Litecoin's principle rival is Bitcoin Cash yet its locale is by all accounts less poisonous. Litecoin's advancement isn't as dynamic as Bitcoin's nevertheless it has a functioning designer network and has a lot of clients. Litecoin is also used for payments because it has less transaction cost and faster transaction speed when compared to ethereum classic.
There may be better coins in the crypto market than litecoin but it's good to have litecoin in your portfolio if u look at the ongoing bull market Litecoin is making silent waves by holding value when bitcoin has been dumped in the market like crazy in the past 4 days.
