Don't Quit your Job!
"No one makes history by working for others".
"Show me an employee among the top 10 richest people in the world".
"You can't achieve your potential working a 9 to 5 job".
Bla bla bla.
We have heard these and more from different motivational speakers. According to them, working as an employee limits your potentials and will bring you a fixed and relatively low income compared to running your own business.
Well, first and foremost, don't quit your job. Or if you must, at least not until you get a few things right.
The truth is, not everyone can be a successful business owner. As we have people that are very good in business, so also we have people that are very good at working for others and also help their organizations reach their potential.
If a survey is carried out, about 70 percent of the world's population will say they want to have their one business and be their own boss, but in reality that is not the case. For one reason or another, many people have to settle as an employee and this does not mean they are not doing well (financially).
And let us be realistic, going by that logic if almost everyone wants to have their own business entity then who will work for who? 🤷
We also have the ones that took the leap, so to speak by quitting their work to become self-employed. Well it worked out for some, for reasons we will eventually discuss; others failed miserably.
This article is not to discourage anyone from starting their own business. But to emphasize that you being an employee does not mean a lesser potential, impact and accomplishment.
Discover yourself and know what you can excel in. Don't force what you are not, and don't be easily influenced by the media and the society. As we have many business tycoons doing better than employees, so also we have employees doing better than business owners.
Now, you have made the decision. You really want to quit your job and start your dream business. There are some questions you have to answer first before making the big jump.
Do you have the business all planned out?
Do you have enough capital to start the business?
Do you have your target audience ready and a means of creating enough awareness for your business?
Do you have money saved that can sustain you till the business starts making good profits?
If you can answer yes to these questions, then you are good to go.
Besides, instead of quitting, why not do both? It is referred to as Hybrid Entrepreneurship.
Hybrid Entrepreneurship simply means starting a business while retaining your job. Research has shown that starting a side business while still having your full time job is the best path to success in the long run. It is said the the average millionaire has 5 sources of income. Don't focus on one, diversify your sources of income. But if you are not the business type, fine.
The purpose of this article is to assure you that you are doing well in your job, don't let anyone intimidate you. As long as your income is above your expenses and you have good money management, then you are doing great.
Don't quit your job in search of greener pastures. The grass is greener on the other side because someone is taking care of it. Pay attention to your own side too. Put in your very best in what you do, strive for excellence and see the amazing results.

You have a point my friend. Not everyone would be a business owner and not all would be a forever employee. Being an employee doesn't limit your potentials neither does it makes you less of yourself. You can be an employee and still succeed in it if you are passionate and making use of your ideas in the right way.
