I’m Engaged! (With Research)
04/18/2022
Today, we were supposed to present our research proposals to our instructor in our research subject. But, unfortunately we weren’t able to present because the time ran out. I think it has its perks because we can prepare more but it’s not good to prolong the agony either.
There were a lot of questions asked and I can't help but think if we'll be able to wing it. But, still we'll do our best.
We made three research proposals so we’ll have back-up in case the other one would be rejected. Here are the research titles we had proposed and presented.
**Implementation and Challenges of Paperless Accounting of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Vigan, Ilocos Sur**
Nowadays, organizations replaced paper-based to paperless accounting because of the latter being more efficient and flexible. Paperless accounting is also one way for organizations to stay at the top of competition. Additionally, the pandemic made paper-based accounting impractical. But, small business les trying to implement paperless accounting face challenges in terms of costs and time.
This research focuses on small business particularly MSMEs since they are the biggest contributors in our economy and it is necessary to address the challenges they face on implementing paperless accounting.
Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the process of implementing paperless accounting among Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, as well as the challenges brought by this method. Specifically, this study will find out what are their steps and procedures of accounting their transactions, how it helped these businesses and the obstacles that arise during the implementation of paperless accounting.
**Perception of Accountancy Students of University of Northern Philippines on their Readiness in Taking Certified Public Accountant Licensure Exam Amidst Online Learning**
Learning accounting requires interpersonal contact so the readiness of accountancy students is affected from remote learning implemented because of the pandemic. Experiences play a role in their learning affected by environment, peers, instructors, and living situations. Such experiences by the students during online set up all influence a student’s outlook on taking the CPA exam. With this, it is important to look into the lived experiences of accountancy students with their perceptions in taking the CPALE amidst the new setup and other factors
This research aims to determine the perception of accountancy students on their readiness in taking the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Exam (CPALE) amidst online learning due to the pandemic. Specifically, this research will seek to know what the accountancy students perceive as the effects of online learning on their readiness to take the CPALE and what factors related to online learning led to such perceptions
**Challenges in Accounting and Reporting Requirements During the Pandemic of Accountants in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur**
New regulations and ongoing changes as the economic environment shifts into a new normal are implemented during the pandemic to adjust to the new setting. Professional accountants, like others in the workforce, are operating within a new context and environment. These changes will have impact on the accountant's practice as they present challenges in accounting and reporting requirements. Thus, this research focuses on such challenges of accountants during the pandemic.
This research aims to determine the challenges in accounting and reporting requirements during the pandemic of accountants. Specifically, this research aims to know the changes in accounting and reporting requirements needed in the new set up and the obstacles they faced while adhering to those requirements.
So those are what we prepared. Hopefully, we’ll be able to present them smoothly. And also, hopefully, our instructor, would agree to one of them. It's really nerve-wracking waiting for our turn but we weren't able to present.
I hope I’ll be able to say “I’m engaged!” if our proposals would be accepted. I really hope so.
Wish me luck!

What I Think on Recent Trending Topics in our Country
There have been countless many issues and topics emerging on the trending lists of every Filipino social media accounts.
I’m not really good at expressing myself in social media. I am that quiet user that likes to observe rather than to participate. It’s not that I’m apathetic. I just have a hard time saying too much on something I may not actually have an expertise with.
First, I try to read more facts about it and other people’s opinion on it. Then I try to participate and voice out when I can or maybe I can just share a post that I agree with.
***It is important to be aware and form a stance on social issues right now because it affects us and the people around us.***
Here are some of the things that have been on my mind lately.
Let the Earth Breathe
This is definitely on the top of everyone’s list right now. But this issue, this call for environment protection have been here for years. We notice it, then after some time, we forget about it because it’s not trending anymore. Therefore, it ***should be our job to make it trending always in our minds.***
This call of letting the Earth breathe started gaining attention again when NASA scientists were arrested their climate change protest. People were moved as they saw how grave our situation right now.
Many kindhearted users in social media shared a lot of tips. Some are:
Delete emails to reduce your carbon footprints.
Plant trees or use webpages that plants a tree when you use them.
Reducing the use of plastic waste.
Save electricity at home.
Use eco-friendly alternatives.
Avail producrs from eco-friendly companies.
These are the things that we, individuals can do. But this is not enough unless the big contributors of climate change will be stopped.
**Corporations exploiting our nature are the ones who should be demanded of letting our Earth breathe.** The scientists went out of their laboratories and protested. But their voices may not be loud enough.
**We must contribute our own voices and demand these big corporations.** Demand governments to stop putting businessmen’s interests first. Demand policies that prioritizes our caring for our nature.
Best Bar Ever
The biggest bar ever resulted to 72.28% high passing rate. This is the biggest bar ever since two batches, 2020 and 2021 have taken it due to the bar exams skipping a year from pandemic.
Such a high passing rate is something we can all be proud of. More lawyers will uphold justice for every people who are deprived.
But, it makes me dream for my future licensure exam which is the CPALE to have such a high passing rate too. If the Bar exams can do it, surely CPALE can too.
Accountancy students are hardworking people that deserves to pass. However, there have been CPAs that demands the exams to be improved as it is simply too hard. I wish for a change.
There was also an opinion that trended for a while recently. It said that we don’t really need more lawyers and we need more scientists, engineers and doctors. That opinion was half-right. We really need more scientists, engineers and doctors. But, having more won’t matter if authorities don’t listen to them.
And we actually need more lawyers because there are a lot of unprivileged people who are experiencing injustice. ***We need more lawyers that will protect them.***
There are still a lot of issues and topics that are worth discussing but it’ll probably take too much of your time to read. Maybe next time we can talk about it? Maybe you can share some trends?

Wanna Play This or That: Fashion Edition?
Surely, many of us have an interest on what we wear and the styles we want to wear. We want to look good, decent and presentable.
I never really had too much interest on fashion. I just wore whatever is comfortable. But during the pandemic, I started buying clothes and started thinking of cute outfits I never wore before. People really change.
There are a lot of trendy outfit styles these days. All of them are good. You just have to find what suits you the best or what you really want to wear.
***Go for it, whatever it is!*** Flaunt that outfit in your social media accounts. What matters is you’re confident and happy about it.
So let’s play a simple game. Let’s play This or That but make it fashion edition. Maybe you can see more of what you want to wear?
Sneakers or Killer heels
This is a no-brainer. I like sneakers more than heels in every parallel universe. I don’t even have a heels. I only have sneakers and I prefer white ones.
Not only is it comfortable, it is also very versatile. You can pair it in almost everything. You can pair it us with any type of jeans, shorts or you can pair it with dresses too. It gives that casual, cool vibe.
I just recently bought a chunky sneakers which kinda shocked me a little. I wasn’t expecting it to be really chunky. Though, it paired pretty well with my straight leg jeans. I’ll try to see if I can pair it up with other outfits too, like body-con dresses.
Wide Leg Jeans or Tailored Trousers
Trousers are too formal and wide legs jeans are too for me. Tailored trousers aren’t bad. They look really cool. I just think tailored trousers don’t really suit me. I like to look more casual. But, you can look casual with trousers, too. Maybe it suits you more than me.
And recently, I’ve bought wide leg jeans like mom jeans and straight leg ones I was worried it wouldn’t really suit me but I think I looked okay.
Hopefully, I can buy more because I really like them. Too bad, I’m broke right now.
Light sundresses or Little black dresses
If you think I’ll choose black dresses then you’re wrong. I really love sundresses. They’re breezy, comfortable and easy to wear. And they look really cute. It gives you that hot girl summer vibes.
It makes you look bright and vibrant. It can make you more youthful too, I think. It’s perfect for beach hang-outs, picnics and maybe even flower field visits.
Ponytails or Cute hair clips
Do you like tying your sir or just clipping it a little to let your hair down? For me, I do both. But if for an outfit, I like hair clips more. Who wouldn’t? There are so many cute designs and styles of clips right now especially in online shops. I’ve been buying a lot during the start of pandemic but I tried to stop myself because it’s too much.
You should choose different clips for different occasions. Choose clips that will suit formal attire, swag outfits, soft girl vibes or anything you want to wear.
Baby Pink Lip Gloss or Bright Red Lipstick
Bright red lipstick is too much for me but maybe not for you so go for it, girl. But I just prefer baby pink on my lips. It makes me look younger. It doesn’t really feel heavy and it does not bring too much attention. It’s more simple so I like it.
Denim Jackets or Knitted Cardigans
Denim jackets look great and I want to try them too. But, I prefer cardigans more. It’s more comfortable and I think it suits me more. I really like having soft girl vibes though I still don’t have much outfits for it.
Knitted cardigans look great when paired with sundresses or any cami dresses. It’s cute with cami tops too paired with jeans or skirts. It’s just really hot here in our country so it’s hard to wear them.
And that’s it! You can add more this or that options when you want to play this!
***Have a nice day everyone ❣️***
I Miss Having A Cat
Do you love having pets? Do you adore cats or dogs?
I do. I love pets. They simply make life wonderful. They give you a sense of purpose.
Pets make you feel that you are capable. It makes you feel things that are so pure like happiness, empathy and affection.
I have a pet dog and he is the best thing ever. Every morning he goes to my bed to make me scratch his belly. Sometimes, he sleeps next to me. He also likes to follow me anywhere.
When I’m having a stressful day, I just go to him and talk to him. Pets may not be able to talk but they surely can listen.
I love my pet dog. But I wish having a pet cat though. I want to have both but it’s impossible for now. They may be hostile towards each other.
When I first had my own pet cat
I once had a pet cat. Some family friend gave it to me. The cat was a little wild and feral at first but I took my time to make it like me. I tried to let it sleep on me even when its claws cling to me a little. It hurt a little but it was worth it in the end.
The cat became sweet and tame overtime. Soon, we were able to sleep and play together. It was wonderful, having a friend that’s always there with you.
When I lost him
Days were happy and it was because of my companion. It’s amazing how one animal that cannot even speak become your family. It’s amazing how it can scar you for a long time too.
I’m not talking about a physical wound. I’m taking about the emotional impact it will give you, especially when you lost them.
I lost my cat soon after. I wish he could’ve grown more. I wish he could’ve gotten older with me. Sadly, life is not easy even for animals.
It was after I went home from school. My mother told me my cat still haven’t gone home and some neighbors have seen it dead. I don’t remember much what exactly my mother said. It was too painful to know.
It was the last time I had my own cat. I want to keep it that way for a longer time.
What I have realized
I had so many regrets. If only I was there, would it have been different? If I’m not still a little kid, would I have the means to take care of it?
I realized I was not in the right circumstances to own a cat. Having a pet is a gift but it is also a responsibility. It was a responsibility that I was not capable of fulfilling yet.
That is why I promised to myself, I will only own a pet when I’m already financially capable and independent. I would want to be a fur-parent that is able to take the responsibility of taking care of the cat.
What I still miss
But, I still miss having a cat. I miss having a constant companion. I miss having a cute, little friend I can play with. I miss having a fluffy pet I can cuddle with.
Cats are wonderful. They are sleeping most of the time but they have their own weird antics too. They can become playful. They also know when to be there for you. Sometimes they know when you’re sad.
I envy those people who have the means to take care of pets. I am hoping soon that I will be one of them. I still have my pet dog, Darky, to be here for me. I wish he could live long and be with my family for a long time.
I want to encourage you to make a good deed. I try to help some volunteer organizations that rescues animals. May be you can too. Help then out financially and through other things 💛

What makes a date special?
No, I’m not talking about dates like MM/DD/YY or anything like that. I’m talking about a date where two people meet up. It’s a date!
Have you ever went on a date? Maybe a date with your loving partner? Or maybe a date with your best friend? Or even a blind date?
If you have, did you ever have a special date? A date so special that you can’t even forget it and you want to do it over and over. A date you’ll miss so much when you go home.
If yes, you may already have your own perspective of what makes a date special. If no, I’ll share you my idea of what makes a date special.
It’s simple really. ***All dates are special when it is with the person you truly love and care for.*** Being with someone whose company is enough to make you feel that your day is already complete – that’s what ultimately makes the date special.
The date will never be so memorable and delightful if you’re not spending it with the right person.
Yes, a date with the right person is always special – it makes you feel something else entirely. Your world becomes more vibrant, soothing and exciting when you let them in.
All the other things that make up a date are just extras and make such a date more special than it already is. Such other things are important so you can make the most out of your date.
Of course, ***a special date won’t be complete without good food***. Maybe choose the food that you’ve been craving for so long. Maybe you can eat both of your comfort foods and be comforted with each other’s presence. Or maybe, try something new and explore adventures.
Good food let’s you enjoy your moment with your date. You may even use it to make your date more exciting by feeding each other.
It is also the ***interesting conversations with random topics or silly jokes*** that makes up a date. The environment that the right person brings you makes you feel free to talk about anything.
A date feels so much more happier when you’re all smiles talking about funny things that happened to you last time. It becomes more cheerful when one narrates little stories from childhood or remarkable experiences from the recent past. Or you can just simply talk about that new knowledge you’ve gain from a video of reputable sources.
The conversations make it special but so do the ***comfortable silence.*** Obviously, you can’t be talking all throughout the date. It is a different type of peace and quiet when you’re with someone without words being spoken. The tranquility you feel is a rare kind of peace.
But, romantic dates are special because of the ***intimacy***. This is rather subjective but it is not worth denying that any sweet and intimate interactions, no matter what kind, allows you to feel so much more than the usual enthusiastic happiness. It gives you that giddy happiness of love that no one can ever give you. Holding hands, hugging, placing arms over the shoulders and kissing all feel special.
But, in the end, it all boils down to who are you having a date with. Good food, meaningful or random conversations, comfortable silence and intimacy are nothing if not with the right person.
Choose someone who makes you feel thankful spending time with them. Choose someone who makes you feel that the date is not time wasted but time well spent. It will all be worth it if we choose someone who we deeply love and who feels the same too.

Academic Break But Make it Self-Care Break
We all wish for a long, long break where we don’t have to worry about our responsibilities. We long for a long vacation where we can escape from reality for a moment.
I am fortunate to have been granted an academic break this week. However, even if the school did not announce such, this week would still be a break for us.
Now is the time where Christians observe holy week. Since we live in a country where majority are Christians, it is natural that these days would be holidays so people would be able to attend this week’s events.
But, of course, the whole week isn’t really for religious activities. Since it is considered as a long break or vacation, we have so much time to spare. It would be a waste not to spend to things we should do.
For this academic break, I plan to make it a self-care break where I would take care of myself.
***These are the things we should do this academic break.***
Clean up our space
Start your break by making sure that your room is clean and organized. It is tiring but self-care does not mean not getting yourself tired. Self-care also means tidying things to make yourself more comfortable. And what would make us more comfortable than cleaning everything in our space? Clean all the dust, organize messy things and change to new bedsheets and it would really feel like a new life.
Have a good sleep
It’s rare for a person these days to have a good sleep schedule. It’s exhausting to be lacking sleep every time. Our body deserve a good rest by not sleeping too late and having enough sleep.
We should grab this opportunity to make the most of our nights a take a good rest. Maybe drink some warm milk before to sleep better. And maybe you can cut off coffee for a little bit, especially at night.
Hang out with your friends
A break wouldn’t be complete without seeing your friends. Don’t be shy and make plans with your friends. Eat out, visit some new places or just have home dates together watching movies.
The happiness our friends give us make us feel thankful for the life we have. It’s a special feeling that we deserve.
**Go out with yourself**
Treat yourself too. Being alone gives us different kind of comfort that we totally need for our self-care. Go to your favorite restaurant, café or shop. Travel alone or watch movies alone. We all need to give ourselves a time to be alone with our thoughts and reconcile with them.
Catch up with your backlogs
You may think “isn’t a break where we won’t have to care about our responsibilities?”. Well, it is a break. But, we can use this time to help ourselves ease the burden and workload of the coming weeks. This doesn’t really mean that you’ll be working all the time. Just lend a little time, maybe an hour everyday, and you’d be making a difference.
Have quality time with your family
It wouldn’t be complete without bonding with your family. Go out for a meal or maybe cook together. Just spend some time together.
Watch some shows from your list
This is already a given, right? Open your streaming accounts and watch that series you’ve been stalling for months.
Write articles for read.cash
We all now have the time to write some articles for our read.cash. Let us use your time wisely.
The most important, however, is make sure ***we had rest and we made ourselves happier and better.***
Good night readcashers ♥️

Five Things I Wish to Change in Our Society
The society is not perfect. And it may never be. There are norms that are not acceptable. Society established things that may not be right for us.
There are some changes, both good and bad. But, ***the things that did not change are the things that should have***.
There are some notions that I hate about our society. The society is not perfect and that’s understandable because we, who are part of it, is not perfect either. However, I do wish that we slowly progress and change the things that should be changed.
After watching Bridgerton, its first season, I have noticed some things that I really hate about society. The series may have a setting that dates a few centuries back, it still relates to the present – the unreasonable things about society.
***These are the things I really want to change about our society.***
Women are for marriage only
The show is about young women coming out to find a husband for themselves. What’s saddening is the series show that finding a husband and building a family is all that a woman should do in its life.
Their duty to have a family is the only reason for their existence. And there are still people right now who thinks women are not capable of more than that.
Women should not only be limited to being a housekeeper or the light of a family. ***There are different places for a woman in the society.*** We strive for fairness and justice, and so we must not prison women into one purpose. I hope all people would come to realize that.
Men have more or better opportunities than women
This is not to say that men do not deserve those opportunities. It is not wrong for men to have such opportunities because everyone deserves them. That is exactly why women deserve equal chances as men. Women always need to prove so much before they can get something, unlike men who only needs so little.
An example are women leaders whom people criticize so much. People would say women cannot be leaders because they are emotional. But, they can’t say that to men even when men are also emotional people. ***We should give women many opportunities as men and we should criticize men as much as we criticize those women.*** Double standards is not pleasant.
Women doesn’t have a right to choice
In the series, the heroine had his brother chose for him, even his partner-to-be. It’s simply because people think lowly of women that they cannot even allow them the liberty to choose.
Women are deemed to be submissive. But, that shouldn’t be. Some people think women are inferior. However, ***women have the freedom and strength to make their own choices.*** It is their life after all.
Having a big flaw makes us unlovable
When we have imperfections, we seem to think that we do not deserve some love. That is because that is how society thinks. The society define people with their flaws. Society deems people less worthy if they are far from perfect.
If someone has a disability, some people in our society think that life has no sense to them. If someone is not conventionally pretty, they think they are less deserving of love.
I do not like such notions. ***I hope we would all appreciate our flaws. I hope we should not think of some things as flaws.*** Even normal things like body hair, skin pigmentation, skin colors and other things become a flaw to judgmental eyes. We should change that.
We must live up to other people’s expectations of us
The society places big expectations to us and we must become just as that. But, that’s really pressuring. It’s suffocating to be someone you’re not.
Some people should stop thinking that they have a say in other people’s lives. They don’t have control over it. ***We must remember that we are the leaders of our life.***
*Our society would only change through us. I hope we’ll be able to change.*
It's raining here. It feels really peaceful. I wish for your peace too.

Be a Journalist: How to Write an Editorial
When I was in elementary and high school, I joined different competitions and one of them are contests in campus journalism. It was one of the most memorable part of my school journey.
I am grateful to have been able to join such events because I made friends and made fun memories. But most of all, I feel lucky that I was able to learn so many things especially in writing.
There were different categories of writing in campus journalism. I tried feature writing, copy reading and headline writing and editorial writing. But, I was more focused on editorials.
***Editorial*** is that long section in the opinion page of newspapers. It presents the newspaper’s stand or opinion on a chosen issue which is usually from current events.
I will be sharing the structure of my editorials based on what I learned from different mentors during press conferences (Professionals participate in the competitions and teach young journalists).
***How I write my editorials***
1. Start with an introduction that presents the main issue and your stand about that issue
Of course, everything starts with an introduction. Editorials however, can start straightforward and direct to the point.
You can ***directly state the main issue***. Place the who, what, where, why and how or the basic details of the issue, preferably in one sentence. Next is to ***state your stance on that issue***. Make that statement of your stance intriguing and appealing so you can catch the reader’s attention.
2. Give background information about the issue
You can put on your next paragraph details about the issue to give background to the readers. You must ***provide context*** so the readers would get what you are talking about.
You need to include or relevant facts, summarize them and make it simple.
3. Present all sides of the story
On your next paragraphs, ***introduce all the points or sides in the issue then prove that your point is right***. For example, if you’re agreeing on an issue, you can place the pros and cons but make sure that you point out that the pros weigh more than the cons.
You can use other ways to prove your opinion like ***making illustrations, analogies and examples***.
However, make sure that your opinion is supported by facts from credible sources. Make sure that you have read all relevant information to make that stand.
4. Conclude your editorial
The last part, of course, is the conclusion. You can summarize all the information you put and emphasize your point. What you have to do here is to make sure that you persuade your reader.
***Convince the readers to believe in your stance.*** Make them think about your points. Make them move. End it with something that will make them remember your editorial.
Those are simple steps that I do when I write.
Here are some tips for you too
• Use simple words. Don’t use deep and complicated words because your target readers are not writers like you. They may be common people and some may have limited vocabulary.
• Don’t use lengthy paragraphs. Two or three sentence a paragraph would be enough. You don’t want to tire your readers out.
• Make an outline so you will organize the flow of your editorial. This would help you be more concise and precise.
That’s it! I hope you learned a lot.
I received a good news today. I have accumulated 323 views in all my articles. Thanks to read.cash, I was able to share my passion in writing to different people. I hope to stay long here and write more.

Small Feats and Little Successes in Life
Life is short. We’re like beings that pass through like a mist. We’re here for a moment and then we’re gone.
But, that doesn’t mean that life has no sense anymore. Rather, the fact that life is short should inspire us to cherish and treasure every moment. We have to make the most out of it. And, we have to value everything that happens, even the small things.
Life is short and so, the little things we get to do in life are much more significant than we think.
***Appreciating every moment in our life means celebrating even the small wins and little victories.***
That is why, I don’t hold myself back from being happy even if my achievements seems relatively small compared to grand successes of billionaires, record-breakers and such.
As long as I am happy with what I have achieved, then that’s enough reason. Right?
***Here are some of my small wins recently.***
*Learned how to crochet*
I’ve always wanted to learn how to do handmade crafts and such. I wanted to learn embroidery, knitting and crochet but I just didn’t have the time and materials.
However, I was able to save up a little and bought my own crochet tools and yarns. Thanks to some tutorials, I already know basic crochet stitches and also made different projects.
I’m just really happy that I was able to learn one of my dream goals. I hope to make more projects. Sadly, I’m a little busy with school.
***Saved a small sum of money as a student***
As a student, making money is not our priority. Studying and learning for our future should be our focus.
But, that shouldn’t be our mindset right?
I started saving up money when I was in high school. But as a teenager, I was more focused of short-term pleasures so the money I saved up gets spent soon after. Though, I don’t regret them that much because I made memories.
However, I started to get serious during college and was able to save up some small amount. I buy some of my necessities from my own pockets and save the money left.
It makes me feel independent even at a young age. So, try to save up a little even when you’re young.
*Treated my mother some food*
It is our parents' obligation to provide for us and we have no obligation to provide for them. Nonetheless, why wouldn’t we give back to them when they have sacrificed so much for us?
I don’t have any job yet so I still have no source of income. But, I want to give back something to them. Good thing, I have saved up some from my read.cash tips and was able to treat my mother when we went out.
It just felt fulfilling. And I was able to enjoy going out with my mama too.
*Made my own read.cash account*
Recently, I made this account in this platform and I’m just so grateful that I did.
I was hesitant at first but after some time, I tried and it’s one of the best things ever. I’m able to interact with different people, read different stories and learn many lessons.
*Made a big achievement in one of my mobile games*
We were playing Mobile Legends a while ago and I made my first “savage” or wiping out the whole enemy team in one clash. It was my first time and it felt really great. I’m adding it to my little victories.
And the list goes on but these are the things I’m going to state for now.
I hope I reminded you not to be ashamed of celebrating small feats in your life. *We must never underrated our own achievements but we should be the first ones to be proud of ourselves.*
Let us also remind ourselves to learn from our small mistakes. ***We’ll be able to have more wins if we learn from our failures.***
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone!

Getting Ready for Face-to-Face Classes
It’s so hard to prepare. We never expected that we’ll have face-to-face (F2F) classes this semester.
And no one would ever expect it because we’re already in the middle of this semester and jumping into a different mode of learning just doesn’t seem right and practicable.
Moreover, the school administration said before the start of the semester that F2F classes would probably next semester. So, who would even expect?
That’s why I was really flustered hearing rumors that we’ll have F2F this month. I was in denial at first. But, now the rumors are getting real. We’re actually having F2F next month.
It’s hard. I have to find a dormitory. I have to buy the things I need. I have to pack up so many things (I have so many books I want to cry). It was really difficult for me to absorb the fact that we’re really going to school in flesh.
But, as I accepted the fact that F2F is real, I got a little excited because I would see my friends again. I can be with boyfriend physically. How fickle, isn’t it? So, I started to prepare for my upcoming school comeback.
***How did I prepare?***
*Look for a place to stay*
The school is in another city 2 hour away from my home so it is more convenient to find a dormitory to stay near the campus. Before the pandemic started, I was living at a dormitory beside the school with my friends. Good thing is they still want us to be together.
One of my friends tried to search for a new dormitory but too bad almost every place are already reserved. We were behind but the dormitory we stayed before has still rooms available so we chose that.
That’s why, college freshmen looking for a place to stay should act fast. The dormitories with better locations, prices and amenities will be reserved by the first people who come too find.
*Bought necessities*
I took advantage of the 4.4 sale and bought things I needed for school. I have been planning to buy new backpack and shoes but I didn’t expect it to be so soon so my finances aren’t that ready.
Good thing I have enough from my scholarship.
So I bought my shoes and backpack at Zalora. I chose a white sneakers because it would look good in any outfit and bought a black bag because I just want to
I never bought something expensive like this so it took me hours before I could press the Place Order button.
I’m also planning to buy my other necessities when I finally go to dormitory so it wouldn’t be hard packing and transporting them.
Aside from my bag and shoes, *its important to buy new bedsheets, plastic containers for food and beverages, storage boxes, bath essentials and kitchen tools and equipment.*
*Sign up for a health insurance*
A health insurance is necessary if we want to join the F2F class, preferably PhilHealth insurance. However, I still don’t have one.
This is one thing that has been stressing me out when I heard the announcement rumors of the F2F classes because it would be too costly to pay for the premium every month.
However, I researched about the insurance and found out that students who are 21 years old and above can apply as an indigent member even they still don’t have a job. They can enjoy the insurance benefits until they have a job. But, if they are still under 21 years old then they can avail the benefits of their parents who have the insurance. So, all is well.
So far, that has been my preparations for now. The days before the date for the scheduled first day of F2F class would be hectic as I would be packing my things and organizing them in my new room. I’m excited but nervous as well. ***Wish me luck!***
I've been feeling really tired these days so it's been hard for me to write. Hopefully, I'll be more active now.

Worth it Purchases from Shein: Fave Finds
Do you also relieve your stress by buying things online? It’s really effective though. The excitement you feel while expecting a package to come is such a great feeling. The pandemic has heightened our anxieties but online shopping was one of the things that made me feel good things. For a while, I could feel something positive besides worries.
I want to share with you the things I bought in one of the online shops I’ve been buying from which is Shein. This is not to promote the shop. If you’re using it like me, maybe I can give you ideas and choices to choose from. Since the shop has so many products to offer, it’s hard to choose. I hope this can also help you if you're new and planning to buy from it
1. Mom Jeans
I just recently bought these pants and they’re so good. I have always bought tight jeans but now I wanted to try wearing loose-fit jeans. I didn’t know if it suited me or not but what matters is they’re comfortable. The quality is really good too. It comes with different colors and sizes also.
And, the measurements indicated in the size chart was true. The shop has different size charts for every item so you have to make sure you get the right one. I have bought tight jeans from the shop before but the waist was a little wide for me (it was still wearable).
It was my fault for not checking my measurements but at least, I have a basis for my next purchases. These mom jeans I have bought was kind of too long for me but I can think of it as a style. And, I’m just really small.
2. Plaid Cami Bodycon Dress
I was really satisfied with this purchase. It fit well to me and the color was really nice. The fabric was good and a little stretchy. The price was worth it as some shops with the same dresses can charge higher yet the quality is not that good.
It can be styled in different ways. I wore this once during a date with my boyfriend and said it looked cute. I wore it with a white short sleeved button down cardigan to look more modest. I think it would also look good with a white shirt underlay or you can pair it up with a pink long sleeves cardigan.
3. Button Front Romper
I also loved this purchase of mine. The size was right for me. I mostly based my size on the waist size and I also check the reviews as well for comparison. The color is actually lighter than the picture probably because of the camera effects or filters.
At first, I didn’t like it so much because the fabric was the wrinkly type. But after a little ironing, it came out really nice. I wore this with a white shirt as underlay on my date with my boyfriend. It looked cute plus it was also comfortable. It was worth it. I hope I can find other ways to style it though.
4. Argyle Print Crop Tee
I was hesitant to buy this at first because I thought I might not look good but I actually liked it. The size was right and I measured my bust size as the main basis because I don’t want it to be too loose on me. The fabric was thinner than I expected but it’s okay since the weather here is hot. I wore it when I met up with my friends. I’m just not used to wearing crop tops so it was a little uncomfortable for me since I’m showing a little skin.
5. Split Front Skort
This is a short and a skirt combined. The size was right even if I only checked the waist size but it would be better if you also check the hip size.
I think this is good for casual hangouts. You can pair it with a pastel top or a dark one, depending on your mood. The color is neutral so anything will do. I wore this on my date with my best friend. It was really comfortable and stylishly simple.
I hope this helped! Make sure to earn points and avail vouchers. If you have recos, feel free to tell me.

Let’s Learn Some Ilocano Words!
Ilocano language is simple. But, there’s fun in learning different and new things. Take some time to enjoy gaining new knowledge about language!
Last time, I posted an article listing some Ilocano phrases for your additional knowledge. https://read.cash/@coffeejelly/ilocano-phrases-for-additional-knowledge-bc318682
I decided to add more so you would know more!
Let’s start!
1. Agyaman nak
These are the words you should use when you want to express your gratitude. The words mean “thank you”. Most Ilocanos don’t really use this anymore and settle for using English words. But, it feels more deep and sincere if you use these.
2. Awan anyaman
As a reply to “agyaman nak”, people say this back. It is equivalent to “you’re welcome” in English but it translates more exactly to “it’s nothing”. It’s like saying that it wasn’t a bother and no need for gratitude, like it was only a simple thing to do. This makes the other party to feel that they do not need to worry about what was given or done to them.
3. Sapay koma
This roughly translates to “I hope so”. It is used to express that you wish for something to happen. For example, if the your teacher says “Nalaka lang exam yo” (which means your exam is easy), you may think to yourself “sapay koma” or you hope so.
You can also use this as “I hope for…” For example, if you wish for rain, you can say “sapay koma ta agtudo” which translates “I hope it will rain (“Agtudo” translates to it will rain and rain is “tudo” in Ilocano).
4. Nagimas datoy nga makan
When you’re eating and you want to appreciate the food you are eating, you can say these words. This means “this food is so delicious”. Food is “makan” and so delicious is “nagimas” in Ilokano. You can substitute “makan’ with a certain food name. For example, you can say “nagimas datoy empanada” when you try Ilocos empanda during your visit.
5. Agannad ka kanayon
If you want to show your concern, tell them this. This means “be careful always” and you can remove the “kanayon” (which means always) if you want. When they go home after your hangout, tell them “agannad ka” before you separate ways. In Filipino, this is “ingat ka”.
6. Awisen ka nga umay
This is the Ilocano for “I invite you to come”. It is an expression to invite someone to go to your home or somewhere you want them to be. If you want to invite them to your home, tell these words “Awisen ka nga umay balay mi” since balay means home in English.
7. Haan ka agulbod
If you want to tell someone to stop telling lies, tell them this. This is translated as “Don’t lie”. Additionally, the word “ulbod” can mean liar.
8. Naragsak dagiti mangted
This suddenly popped out in my head. This translates to “happy are those who give”. Giving our time, material things and effort to somebody makes us happy because we were able to help someone. There is that feeling you get when you see people smile because they are given something good.
9. Nagadu maubra
When your school requirement or office work has piled up, you can say this. It means “there’s so much work to do” and add a tone that denotes frustration. I usually say this because our requirements don’t seem to stop coming.
10. Nagpintas ta isem mo
You can use then when you want to compliment your crush about their smile. It means “your smile is beautiful”. Everyone’s smile is actually beautiful. Happiness makes us more beautiful. I hope we can tell these words to other people more often so they could smile more.
And that’s it. These are simple words to learn. I hope you enjoyed!

What Makes A Best Friend The Best? https://read.cash/@coffeejelly/what-makes-a-best-friend-the-best-ec98a214

What Makes A Best Friend The Best?
*There is that one friend that feels like your soulmate.*
*That one friend that we’ll never feel distant no matter what happens.*
*That one friend that feels like home, a friend that’s more than just one family.*
And I met that one friend of mine today. I had a date with my best friend today.
We met December last year so it’s been long since we have seen each other. But, that’s normal for us. We’re busy in school and our schedules don’t really match. It’s also hard to go out when you have no money. Me and my best friend are always broke so we don’t met up often.
Nonetheless, we’re still good friends. Our relationship is peaceful and no stress. We like to chill together and eat good food but we also get sad together when things are tough.
We’ve been planning to meet today and we almost gave up our plan because it started raining hard. Good thing it ended soon and we were able to go the café we intended.
We had our quality time. And as we go on with our date, I felt grateful to have a friend like her.
I only have a few friends and I consider her as the best friend.
***Every friend is special and the best in their own ways. But, there is that one friend that will make you feel different.***
So, what makes a friend become the best of friends?
*You’ve been friends for a long, long time*
Time may not be a concrete indicator of how strong your relationship is because even if you spent only a short time together, you may have spent that time memorably.
*But, being friends with someone for a long time means having the time to know each other, build trust, make memories and strengthen your bond.*
We’ve known each since we were 4 but we only got close almost 10 years after. We’ve been friends for 8 years. At school, we were always together and we would hangout after school. And at home, we chat to talk about our crushes and school struggles. And we still continue to talk about random things these days.
*You feel free to talk about your thoughts and even your secrets*
If that friend is someone you are so comfortable to even tell your insecurities and weird personality, then he or she might be your best friend.
*A best friend is someone who makes you feel that you can be yourself.*
I can always tell my best friend anything, even the things I should not be telling anyone.
You can only have a friend like that when you have established trust between you. You earn that together by loyalty and proving that everything you talk about is between you only. That is why time is important.
***Always ready to listen and comfort you***
A friend is someone who is there for you during tough times.
*A best friend is someone who never gets tired of being there for you even if it’s the same problems you tell.*
I can always tell my best friend my worries even if I always tell those every day. She always listens and she tells me things too.
We also comfort each other when things get tough. When we went to college, we got separated. We struggled so much and was so busy but we tried our best to motivate each other to keep going.
A best friend is someone who can spend his or her precious time to talk with you. Even when you haven’t seen each for so long, you still have the same bond.
***Knows you too well***
Of course, if your best friend does not even know you so much, maybe you should think of going back to the top and get to know you.
Your best friend knows your usual expressions, mannerisms and reactions.
*Sometimes, they could even predict what you’re going do next and guess what you’re thinking.*
My best friend knows me too much that she doesn’t even get surprised when I do something crazy because I’m like that.
These are the things that you should also have to become the best friend.
There are so much other things that makes a best friend the best. You should do your best to maintain friendships that are worthy of keeping.
**Make sure to build your relationship with respect, trust and love.**
I was actually planning to post this yesterday but I accidentally slept while I was writing 😭
I hope you will rest well this weekend too everyone! Stay safe!

Life Lessons: The More Risks, The More Effort To Exert
Are you taking care of yourself? Let’s play some Self-care Bingo https://read.cash/@coffeejelly/are-you-taking-care-of-yourself-lets-play-some-self-care-bingo-2a4d370f

The More Risks, The More Effort To Exert
*Do you ever have moments during your class when you connect your topics in real-life?*
For example, in your Science class, you are learning about carbon-oxygen cycle. It’s only about how plants give oxygen for animals and animals give plants the carbon dioxide those plants need. But, you can connect it to life.
Have you ever thought during your class that life is give and take like plants and animals? We give a lot for people that we like because we take from them our happiness and hope to go on.
I sometimes wonder during my class how such concepts can be related to life. I don’t only try to understand how theories work but I try to see if it applied in real life so I don’t get too bored during class.
During my Auditing class, we learned about this concept that resonated with me. In all audits, there is always a risk of making the wrong conclusions. For starters, let's define auditing.
What is auditing?
In simple terms, *auditing is the examination of financial information presented by an entity to give an opinion whether it conforms to the related standards or not.*
Audits provide reasonable assurance whether such financial information is free from material misstatements or not.
Audits can only give reasonable assurance, not absolute. Therefore, there is still a risk or uncertainty that audits may come up with an opinion that is inappropriate.
What kind of risk?
There is still this “***audit risk***” or the risk of expressing inappropriate opinion.
For example, the financial statements of a company has significant errors but the audit concluded that it was free of such errors. That means they expressed a wrong opinion.
There will always be such risks in audit because of its inherent limitations, especially because they do not test all transactions and a possibility of human error.
However, auditors try their best to reduce such risk in a low level that is acceptable.
*The lower they can reduce the risks, the more assurance they can give on their opinion.*
To reduce the risk, auditors need to do more work to compensate. They do more extensive audit procedures to ensure that they cover all areas that need to be examined.
Such concept made me realize some things in life.
What are those realizations?
If we make a decision, there is always a risk that we made the wrong choice. We can’t see the future and we can’t control a lot of things. That’s why every choice entails a lot of risks.
But, that does not mean we should be afraid of making choices. We should not hesitate too much because we might waste time and lose some opportunities.
So, just like auditors, we just have to compensate it more hard work and effort. If we make a decision, we should make sure that we have thought it through. We must do research, ask appropriate individuals and examine ourselves if it is something we can do.
And even if we have already made a choice, we should still work hard to make it the right choice.
How to apply in real life?
For example, I chose to study a difficult course which is Accountancy. Before I made a choice, I tried to know about the career it will lead me to and the opportunities that will open up after getting the degree. I researched people who have tried it and asked myself if I can do it.
And, after that I made a decision of taking this course.
So, I did. But, the hard work doesn’t stop there because I made a risky choice that decided where my life goes.
There is the risk that I was wrong and I would just be wasting my time. There is a risk that I cannot pass and graduate and I’d just be wasting money.
***So to reduce the risk, I must continue to make efforts in my studies and try my best to pass***.
To all my fellow students out there, choosing a college course or maybe choosing not to go to college is a decision with a lot of risks. But, we should still be brave to make a choice. We won’t really be sure if our decision is right or wrong. It is actually up to us if it is right or wrong.
But such life lesson doesn’t only apply to student like me.
***It applies to all of us.***
If we decided to start up a business, we must conduct trough planning to reduce the risk of failing.
If we decided to invest in stocks or cryptocurrency, we must make sure we have enough knowledge and continue to be up to date on needed knowledge.
***We always make risky decisions. So, we always need to pair it up with hard work and determination.***
Enjoy your day everyone!

Are you taking care of yourself? Let’s play some Self-care Bingo
I see people who posts bingo cards in their stories and hey seemed so fun. While scrolling through Canva, I saw this self-care bingo card and decided to share it with you. Let's do this!
Self-Care Bingo Card
***Took a shower***
I did after a long day of online classes. The weather is really hot and my body kind of feel sticky because of it so a cold shower feels like heaven. You should not forget to take a shower even if you’re really tired because it’s self-care.
***Got dressed***
If this means dressing up in OOTD-like clothes, well, I didn’t. I just got dressed in my usual comfortable clothes at home. But, I’m window shopping some clothes I can wear for a cute outfit. Self-love is also dressing up yourself.
***Caught up with friends***
I did. Some of my friends aren’t necessarily the clingy type. But, we do talk some times and there’s no awkwardness. I caught up with my best friend, talked about some juicy secrets and we even planned to go out on the next days!
***Processed my feelings***
I’ve been feeling a little frustrated because they’re planning to continue face to face classes in our schools but we haven’t prepared yet. I still haven’t come to terms of how I feel but I hope I can calm a little bit later on. We need to face our emotions and learn to deal with them. We cannot care for ourselves if we let ourselves be overwhelmed by our feelings. Such negative feelings will destroy us from the inside.
***Complimented myself***
I patted myself on the back after being able to finish my quizzes even when they were really difficult. I was also able to post an article despite my schedule.
Complimenting yourself is not arrogance but an act of kindness for yourself. It would be really great for our self-esteem to try and compliment ourselves every day with even in the little things we do. A little “you did great today” or “you look pretty” daily would do.
***Meditated***
I didn’t because I don’t have the time and I don’t really meditate. I should include this to my self-care habits.
***Ate good food***
I did but not fancy foods. I ate instant noodles that I’ve been craving for a while. Good food is relative to the person and it doesn’t have to be expensive. Treat yourself sometimes.
***Listened to my body***
I’m really tired but I just don’t have the luxury to rest yet. I feel sorry for my body for being too much. I promise that I would rest to recover when I have time though. Don’t let your body get drained too much and make time for a rest.
***Had fun***
We had a virtual meeting with some of my friends and it was fun laughing with them. But, I also had fun time alone while watching my favorite series today. Even for a moment, we should have fun with ourselves and with others everyday.
***Asked for help***
I didn’t because I was not any need of help. Though, I know it’s also self-care to rely on others on the things we cannot do.
***Took a much needed break***
I still haven’t. But I’d definitely rest this weekend.
***Drank water***
Of course. Stay hydrated especially now that the weather is so hot. Have your own water container beside you so you can drink your water anytime.
***Take a social media break***
I can’t. There is this *socmed* *detox,* a way to care for mental health, by staying away from all social media accounts to avoid negativities. But I just can’t do it because of school. But you should if you can.
***Treated myself***
Not yet but I’m planning to buy myself shoes. I’m just a little worried of the sizing. But, I want to remind all of you that even when you don’t deserve it, you should still treat yourself of the things you want as long as you can afford to. You don’t always need to have a reason to give yourself some things.
***Complimented someone***
Yes. I complimented my boyfriend for giving a great presentation on his class. Complimenting others makes you feel more positive. Learn to appreciate and be grateful.
***Got 8 hours of sleep.***
Guilty. It’s been so long since I had one.
***Took steps to tame negative thoughts.***
Oops. Maybe next time, I would.
***Hugged my parents***
I don’t hug my parents. I’m not the affectionate type. This actually depends on the person if they are comfortable doing this. Not all families are the same.
***Dropped a habit that is not for me***
I’m still working on my lazy habits.
***Took a mental health day***
As I’ve said, I’m still a little busy with school.
***Spending time with nature***
I don’t even have time to go out. I feel sad thinking about it.
***Decluttered my space.***
Guilty again. My space is still organized but I do need to clean a little.
***Wrote down in my journal***
I’d like to begin in the first day of the year but I wasn’t able to. Guess I’d try again next year. But having your own journal would make a difference. You’ll be able to express how you feel and let it out.
***Practice self-compassion***
I’m being a little hard on myself lately but we should always be kind to ourselves.
***How about you?***
If you’ve crossed out more than me, then that’s great.
I think this isn’t just a game but it actually reminds us things that we should do to care for ourselves. This little steps are little things that will make ourselves feel better and be better. I hope you noted these things done so you can do them regularly.
***Take care of yourselves everyone!***

Pros and Cons of Living Alone
Have you tried living alone or experienced living far away from your parents?
If you have, you know how hard it is. And you know how easy some things can be, too.
I have recently heard rumors about bringing back face to face classes. For two years, we settled on online classes. But since the situation is getting better, schools are planning to open again.
It made me feel both nervous and excited. After all, I have experienced how it is to live alone to study. The rumors made me remember my life, living in a dormitory.
I am a college student in a university two hours away from my home. For convenience, I decided to stay in a dormitory. It felt like living alone like how some adults live.
It gave me an idea how to be independent, with no family to rely on so I kind of know how it is to live alone. If you haven’t tried dorm life, you may be wondering how it is.
Living alone has its own perks, of course. But it also has its own disadvantages. There are always a bright and dark side, right?
So… I’ll tell you a little bit about it by sharing my experience.
Perks of living alone
***• More freedom going out because you don’t have to ask permission from your parents***
If you live with your parents and they can be a little strict, you always have to tell them if you’re going out. They’ll ask you so much questions like where will you go, what will you do or who are your companions. Sometimes, the won’t even allow you to go out. But when you’re alone, you don’t have to tell your parents those things anymore. You can go out anytime and you can come home late without the fear of getting scolded.
***• More motivated to do household chores because no one nags you to do them***
Are you the type of person that when somebody tells you to do something you’re actually planning to do, you’ll lose the will to do them anymore? I’m like that sometimes. I dislike getting nagged and dictated when I’m already planning to do it. Parents are a little too hasty sometimes. When you live alone, you’ll get to do the chores willingly because no one told you to. You’ll be doing it for yourself and it’s really satisfying, being responsible in your own will.
***• Learn how to manage your finances***
This is the good side of living on a budget. You become better on handling your money. Every month or week, you have to make a budget plan and stick to it, or else you won’t have enough money to live on. Living alone teaches us discipline that will help us get through tough times.
***• You can wake up early or late when you have no classes or work***
Have you ever woke up because your parents have been bugging you to wake up, on a weekend, when you have no work or class? You know it’s really the worst way to start a day. But when you’re all alone, you can enjoy your sleep and make up for what you have lost during the past days.
***• You'll have more peace***
No one will make unnecessary noise at home because it’s only you. If you’re uncomfortable with slight noise, it feels really relieving live by yourself.
Disadvantages of living alone
***• You have no one to help you in some chores when it gets busy***
I struggled living in my dormitory when I got busy at school during exams as we’re too occupied with requirements and tests. You just have no time to cook for yourself or wash your clothes. You will wish that you have someone with you to help you with some chores but.. sadly, you live away from your parents.
***• You may get short on your budget***
Necessities are so expensive. It’s hard to handle some expenses. And there will be times when you won’t have enough and it is really hard to ask someone else for money.
***• You’ll miss home cooked meals***
I don’t know how to cook that much and I don’t have the time most of the time do it was really hard to have a proper meal. I got used to eating instant foods. I really missed home cooked meals when I was in dorm.
***• You have no one to care for you when you’re sick***
There were days when I felt unwell and I wished I had someone to cook meals for me, do some chores for me. Too bad, I was alone.
This is only my experience and some people may have had it harder or easier. Bottom line, there are good and bad things in everything. I hope we will always overcome the bad part.

Why You Should Try Putting Up an Online Business and How?
I have always wanted to have my own business in the future. But, this pandemic kind of changed my perception a little bit. Online businesses became famous and it made me think of having one too because it seemed more suitable for the current situation.
Now, I am interested engaging in online business. Why?
Unlike traditional businesses, there is no need to put up physical stores. Constructing or renting would be too costly while doing online business only requires putting up a website or even using established e-commerce platforms that provides avenue for online business owners. Some even use social media like Facebook and Instagram to transact.
Putting up branches as a physical store would need a lot of legal fees as there would be different business regulations and permits that we need to comply. It’s also hard to find and secure a location for your shop. While online business have lesser restrictions and promoting online business would also be less expensive with the use of social media platforms.
Moreover, the benefit of online business is its convenience. It is easier to transact with customers through online messaging. There is also flexibility in working hours. There would be no need to wake up everyday, prepare products and maintain any physical store.
***Yes, online business is cheaper and more convenient than putting up physical stores.***
I prefer to put up an online business because of lesser cost. With the money I will earn from my online business, I would then have the capability to establish branches.
Additionally, at this present time, we are still in a pandemic. It would not be advisable to put up a store, considering health restrictions. Even in the future, we would still have these health protocols to prevent another pandemic. Thus, it is better to conduct an online business to limit physical interactions and follow health standards.
But what should you do first before starting up one?
***Before entering online business, decide first of what business you want.***
Formulate business ideas through observations, inquiries and research of your market. Narrow the ideas on what is more convenient for you. Check the feasibility of your business through research and survey. Make sure you choose the right product to offer.
***After finalizing your business idea, make a business plan.***
Planning is very important in starting up a business to avoid failure. Plan your operations, your initial capital and expected expenses. This business plan would also include your marketing and advertising plan. A well-planned promotion strategy is very important. You should make sure that you are well-versed in social media platforms and make use of them.
***Take necessary actions, especially legal and financial matters.***
Secure your funding and spend according to your budget in your business plan. See if there are needed state requirements to ensure that your business is lawful.
***Set up a website. You can also make use of e-commerce platforms for convenience.***
You can also start in social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Make sure you have an attractive logo design, business name and layouts which you have already established in your business plan. Make your business attractive and appealing.
***Connect with and attract potential customers.***
Ask your friends to share your business to their friends. This way, your business will spread.
Overall, planning is the key.
In your business plan, you would have laid out everything you need – business name, logo, operations, finances, budgets, promotions and maintenance. The execution would be smoother if the plan is comprehensive and well-prepared.
This is only to give you an idea. There are still more preparations that you need so research well! Ask people who have tried online business and learn from them. I hope that you will succeed!

Never Have I Ever: Girls Edition
I am jumping on the bandwagon of this Never Have I Ever game. I recently saw templates of this game in Canva and I thought it would make a fun article.
I have chosen this Girls Night edition because it seems so cute.
So… without further ado, let’s answer some never have I ever juicy questions.
***Never have I ever asked someone out***
***Never***.
I never asked someone to date me. Before, I never thought that dating was for me. I was content with feeling giddy and in-love with my favorite couples in dramas and anime.
But, I did try to confess to some of my crushes but not with the intent of dating them. I just wanted to move on from it. It’s better to say it than wonder if he or she likes you back, you know. The moment you get a response, whether acceptance or rejection, it would be easier for you to move forward with no what ifs.
***Never have I ever broken up with someone***
***Never.***
I’m still together with my first boyfriend and we’ll always stay together. But, before we were official, we almost stopped talking because of a big misunderstanding. We worked it out and learned so much from it. We became better from those mistakes.
Breaking up is not always the solution. Sometimes, it is if the relationship gets toxic. But there are things that can be fixed once we communicate with humility and kindness.
You are in a relationship to grow together with someone you love. That means you have to let go of toxic traits, slowly but surely, to make your relationship work out. You should not say the words “let’s just break up” so easily. Communicate first.
***Never have I ever talked with a stranger online***
***I have.***
When I was in 8th grade, a game called Clash of Clans got famous and I went along with the trend. You can talk to people within the same server and you can join clans. There is a chat section for the clan and I sometimes talk to my clanmates. I exchanged Facebook names with some of them. But, I only got close to one of them. It was a girl a little older than me. We kind of have the same vibes and we talked about the guys we like and the people we hate. Until now, we still talk about our love lives. She’s the only online friend I have.
***Never have I ever embarrassed myself in front of my crush***
***I have.***
In my 7th grade, after my surgical operation, I went to school for my exams. I was still a little weak and unable to walk fast. I went out of my classroom to review outside. I walked past my crush’s classroom and we made eye contact. My heart beat so fast and I tried to walk away fast but I’m still too weak so I blacked out a little bit and tripped. That was really embarrassing, tripping in front of your crush while all my classmates could see.
***Never have I ever gone on two dates in a day***
***I have.***
But, with the same person. My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship so when we go out for dates, we try to do multiple dates. We’ll have pizza date, coffee date, pasta date and other things we want to (a little tip for LDR couples out there).
***Never have I ever lied to my parents about where I was going***
***I have.***
I had a rebellious phase too. I went drinking with my friends without telling them a few times. But I never did it again since then. It was really just a phase. (Don't do it kids. Be responsible or you'll regret it later on)
I hope you had fun! You can share your experiences too.

What is It Like to Be in College: A Day in a Life of an Accountancy Student
We spend six years in elementary education, then another six years in secondary education. And then additional four years or more for tertiary education. Yes, almost half of our lives are spent on becoming student.
It is tiring sometimes, it feels like we just keep repeating things over and over. Sometimes, I say “*I’m so done with this!*” in my mind when all I am doing are school requirements every day. But, after high school, I still opted to go into college. After suffering so much in high school, I still had the guts to enter college.
High school was stressful but that did not stop me from being a student again in college. Why? Why did I sign up myself for extra years of studying? Well, I need to. If I will not study, I may not get a job that will support me. I am doing this for myself and my family. So, I braved another years of misery. I know some of you can relate with this but some cannot.
You may be thinking how it is. How is it to become a college student? What does a college student do?
***Well, I’ll give you a glimpse by showing you my daily life.***
If you have read my past article, I have said that I am an Accountancy student already in third year. I never really dreamed of becoming one. When we were young, our dreams change as times pass by. I wanted to become a nurse at first and even dreamt of becoming a fashion designer. I didn’t even know accountants exist. When I discovered it, I got interested and then I got into a college course for. https://read.cash/@coffeejelly/10-facts-about-me-a-writer-wannabe-83c31197
***So here it goes… a day in the life of an accountancy student.***
My body clock wakes me up at 6 AM but I still try to sleep for 30 minutes more because I usually sleep at midnight, studying. Since our class starts at 7:30 and we’re still having online classes, I don’t need to prepare much. I try to have quality time with my boyfriend in the morning and then go to breakfast. My mom prepares breakfast a little late so I join our virtual class meetings while eating.
So, an accountancy student starts her day with virtual class at 7:30 AM. Don’t worry, it gets worse.
After a draining synchronous virtual class, I try to rest for a little bit because we have an hour and a half vacant time before our next class. But, a vacant time is not really vacant. I use it to review for my upcoming class. I try to study again the activities we answered because we will sure get asked by that. You would not want to be grilled by your instructor during class.
After that, we’ll have our lunch break for a little bit then I have another vacant for more than an hour. But then again, free time does not mean freedom. I review our next topic so I would get ready for the lecture. Instructors usually call you to recite and if you’re not prepared, your grades will suffer.
My study habits includes making notes of the topic so I can really remember what I studied for.
***Reading is not enough***.
You have to understand it by putting what you’ve learned in a way that it is easier to understand. I write notes to make wordy discussions a little simpler and for additional information I have researched.
Then, I’ll go to class again. I listen really well and try to recite. You need to let your instructors know you and know that you are capable. You have to give them an idea that you are a good student by being prepared of recitation.
After another draining class, I’ll finally finish my day schedule. Unlike high school students, we only have like three or four classes a day but each of them demand so much of your attention. We have a lot of free time but we use it to prepare. A tiring day every day.
At night, I need to do some activities for tomorrow class. I answer some exercises and review to prepare for tomorrow. I usually sleep late because of it. If there is no exercises, sometimes, I need to review for an upcoming quiz.
College life is non-stop hustle and hassle.
Sometimes we have freer schedule but most of the time, we are cramming.
But all of this hard work is an effort to build a better future. I do my best to study hard to not waste my parents sacrifices and not compromise my future.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to post much these past days. I was busy doing school works. I'll definitely be active this weekend. I hope you're all doing well!

Shopee Finds: My Fave Purchases so Far
These days, people are into retail therapy where they shop a lot to make themselves feel better. Others are just impulsive buyers who add to cart items that caught their interest. With the emergence of online shops, shopping became more accessible and easier and it has become a trend to haul from online shops
I’m not a shopaholic like most people these days. I don't do hauls and such. I usually just buy books in the e-commerce platform, Shopee and other needs. But these past months, I’ve made purchases that aren’t actually necessities. I just bought them because I wanted them with the justification that I deserved those things.
And here are my favorite ones…
***1. Vintage Envelope with Letter Paper***
I wanted to write a letter for my boyfriend so I tried to find cute stationeries online. But, I figured that I’d like a vintage design more. I searched in Shopee and there are only few choices. I came across this product with 5 stars as rating, however, only few have bought it so it was a little of a risk. But, I really wanted the design so I bought it.
It turned out really good and the item was in good condition when it arrived even when it was from abroad. The packaged contained two envelopes, four letter papers, a tie and a cute medallion-like pieces which is part of the design. It just took its time to be delivered but that’s understandable because it’s an international purchase.
The item has a good quality. My boyfriend like the letter and was giddy about it.
***2. Cute animal ears headband***
This is really cute and useful! I have a lot of baby hairs that gets in my way when I’m studying. So, I needed a headband and then I found this cute little ones.
It’s price were good for the product. I’ve been using it for a long time now and it’s still good as new. Just wash it, though.
We bought matching ones with my boyfriend so I think it’s also a cute gift idea for your loved ones.
The hairclip was cute too and with good quality. I’ve only bought one because I have already bought too many clips and I need to calm down. It was just too cute so it was hard to resist.
***3. Phone cases***
I bought these two phone cases and honestly, no regrets. The actual products are same as the picture. It’s the hard type of cases and the quality is good. They both serves their purpose of protecting the phone
Many shops offer different designs. Just choose a good shop by looking its ratings and reviews.
I’d definitely buy more if I’ll need it again. It just took its time to arrive but it’s worth it. I think phone cases in physical stores are much more expensive, with limited designs. You’ll also take a lot of time inside their shop, choosing for the best design. Online shopping is more convenient.
***4. Pleated Skirt***
I wanted to gift myself something. I’ve been wanting to buy skirts like this because it’s giving soft girl vibes. This type of skirt can also be styled in different ways. I think it is flexible.
The ratings and reviews were generally good. You just have to make sure you pick the right size. Look at the reviews for reference. It arrived in good condition with no damages. The skirt has safety shorts connected to it so you’ll feel secured even when it’s a little short in length. One of my favorite purchases really.
Online shopping is really addicting. That’s why we need a lot of self-control. I know it makes us feel better when we shop. The feeling of waiting something that’s meant for you is really exciting. It makes us feel happy when we’re all caged inside our homes.
But, we should always remind ourselves not to waste money and time. Let us be smart in our purchases. We should buy from shops with good ratings and good reviews with reasonable prices. We should also make use of vouchers.
***We can only enjoy things if we’re not compromising too much. Happy shopping, everyone!***

Life Lessons: How we Make Failures as our Strength
*There are some things that we don’t realize until said to us. There are some lessons that we don’t learn until we experience things that will teach us.*
We still have a lot to learn in this life. But, life is too short to learn even half of the things that we should. We don’t always get opportunities in life. And so, we are ignorant to so many things.
But, thanks to films. We realize things even if we never experience what it takes to have those realizations. Thanks to movies, series, TV shows and books that we are able to learn so much in this short lives we have.
I think one of the things that helped me mature are the books and films that I have read and watched. They just teach you so much more than what is seen in the surface. It helps us widen our perspective. Even when I’m busy as a college student, I make time to watch, especially Korean dramas.
Every weekend, I spend some time watching Twenty-five Twenty-one. It’s a Korean Drama that depicts a story of five characters during 1998-2021. It started at a time when Korea faced a crisis and dreams were shattered for two of the characters but they began to stand back up again because of each other. Honestly, it’s just so good. It will make you laugh, cry and all other emotions in one episode. It’s a roller coaster ride.
But more than that, it teaches you so much about life.
***“Sometimes, saying that we can do something can be more discouraging. We haven’t learned about an world in which we don’t have to do well and can fail. Still, let’s do the most we can. But, I still hope that even if we fail, we’ll be strong enough to get back up again."***
***- Baek Yijin***
These are the lines of the main character in the movie and it just hits you in the heart.
You may think, how can we get discouraged if we’re actually saying that we can do something? Isn't that actually an encouragement?
That may be an encouragement. But, the more we remind ourselves that we can do it, the more we may actually be pressuring ourselves. We put so much expectations of ourselves with no room for failure. The more we try to force ourselves that we can do it, the more we prison our own selves inside our expectations. And that’s not right and will not help us do well. That’s why we should be kind to ourselves and make room for us to breathe.
***It is okay not to be able to do well sometimes.***
What’s heartbreaking, though, is that our world does not give space for mistakes. We have to do well or else we’ll lose opportunities. We always have to accomplish something or else we’ll be wasting our time. We always need to have a goal, or else we’ll have no purpose in life.
We may not be able to make a world where we can fail and there are no consequences, but we still have to do our best.
Those lines reminded me that even with the expectation of failing, I should still do my best. Not because I am pressured but because I want to do it for myself. If I fail, that’s okay for me, even if the world is not okay of that. I will learn from that failure and use that lesson as a strength to get back up again.
***Our failures become our strength.***
Failing is not defeat. Failing is a step to being able to achieve what we want. The fear of failing may scare us and pressure us but we should always remind ourselves that it is part of doing our best. We can only do our best when we have learned from our failures. The world may think of failures as a loss of worth, but we can change that. Slowly but surely.
*I really hope that we will all be patient of our own progress. The world is changing fast and we may not be able to keep up but let us learn in our own pace. This is our life and we should live for ourselves and for the things love.*

10 Facts About Me, a Writer Wannabe
Every book has a simple introduction about its author. It tells you who the author is, what did he or she achieved and other things so you could get to know the author more.
As a wannabe writer here, I also want to let you know who am I. I’m not really the type to approach you and introduce myself but I feel really free in this writing community.
So here it is…
***1. I am a third year Accountancy student***
Yep, brave of me to take such a hard course. Sometimes, I regret being here but I’m already in my third year (which is actually a great feat and I don’t really know how I did it) so I might as well continue this wild ride.
But, I chose to take this course because I wanted to be a professional accountant. I expected to have a lot of job opportunities in this field which I think is a great assurance in this day where unemployment rate is really low.
***2. I used to be in our school paper publication***
Schools have their own newspaper publication. Most schools here issue a school news paper every school year. I was a part of the staff and was actually in the top positions for years. It is something I’m really proud of. It was a part of my high school that gave me so much memories.
My experience in our school pub helped me loved writing more and improve it. I used to join competitions on editorial writing so I kind of have serious tones in my writing. I really wish I could continue being in a school publication this college but I’m afraid I won’t have the time.
***3. I love cats and dogs but I’m too scared to have a cat again***
I love pets and I dream of being a fur-mom in the future. We have a dog in our home and I really love him (His name is Darky). I once had a pet cat but one day I got home from school and my mother told me he was dead. I never had one since, but I plan to have one in the future.
***4. I’m an avid fan of anime since I was a child with 1-digit age***
Part of a Filipino kid childhood is watching dubbed anime on TV like SlamDunk, Dragonball, Naruto, Bleach and others. I started watching anime on TV as a kid then when we switched to PC, I became more hooked and watched more anime. From a kid watching so many anime on her desktop computer, I'm now a young adult who still loves anime but struggles to finish one due to busy schedule.
***5. I don’t know how to ride a bike.***
It is really a life skill I never learned. I tried but it was too late. I guess I’m gonna spend my life using public transport. But, that’s not really a bad idea cause I don’t want to contribute to more traffics and accidents (because I’m clumsy).
***6. I’m learning how to crochet but I ran out of yarn as of this moment***
I’ve always wanted to learn how to crochet and I’ve only started a few months ago because I saved up enough to buy my materials. Thanks to YouTube tutorials, I was able to finish some cute projects. But, I need more yarns and I don’t have any budget for it now. Hopefully, I could gain a lot here.
***7. I have a boyfriend uwu flex***
We became together just recently after a taking our time getting to know each other more. He’s my first boyfriend and definitely the last. He’s more than I could ever ask for. We’re really happy but I hope the restrictions end so we can meet more frequently.
***8. I don’t have any fashion sense***
I’m used to only wearing a simple shirt and jeans. I have only started showing interest in the clothes I wear recently. And I’m really struggling choosing outfits and styles. (Suggestions are appreciated)
***9. I love Percy Jackson Series and Magnus Chase***
If you haven’t read this, you’re really missing out. It’s a really fun take about Greek and Norse mythology. You’ll see yourself getting attached to the characters. It’s humorous but teaches you about love, friendship and family.
***10. I once had a surgical operation***
I had appendicitis when I was 13. It was my first time getting hospitalized. It really hurt but I’m better now since it's been years. I'm turning 21 this year already. Time flies so fast.
`I hope you knew more about me. And I hope to interact more with all of you here.`
Ilocano Phrases for Additional Knowledge
Philippines has a variety of languages and dialects in every region. Being an archipelago, people were separated before. There were different tribes and each of them has a different language
Ilocano is one of the languages here in the Philippines. It is spoken in the northern region by the Ilocano people. You may not have a concrete reason to learn it if you’re not leaving in the north. But it would be nice to know a little about it, right?
So here it is . . .
***1. Naimbag nga bigat/ Naimbag nga aldaw/ Naimbag nga rabii***
This means “**Good morning/Good day/ Good evening**”, respectively. This is a basic greeting for the day. It feels kind of formal. Most Ilocanos do not really greet each other like this. But, in formal occasions, this is used.
***2. Mangan tayo pay***
This means, “**Let’s eat first**.” The word “mangan” means eat. When a visitor came in a house while the family is eating, the family would say this for courtesy. It is an invitation for courtesy and the visitor don’t actually eat with them.
***3. Ay-ayaten ka***
This means, “**I love you**”. If you want to be romantic, you can use this to express your love. For some Ilocanos, this feels really deep and saying this feels that you love that person deeply and truly.
***4. Nagpintas ka***
You say this to appreciate the beauty of a person. It means “**You are so beautiful**” and is usually said to women. You tell this to a person when you think she really is undeniably pretty.
***5. Kasano nga ubraen daytoy?***
This is a question and it means “**How do you do this?**”. If you want someone to teach you, tell them this politely. “Daytoy” is a pronoun so make sure you point out what you’re referring to.
***6. Sadino ayan na daytoy?***
This means “**Where is this?**”. If you want to find something or someplace, you can ask this someone. If you’re a tourist, you can ask this to a resident and make sure to point out what you’re referring to.
***7. Mapan nak diay***
If you want to go somewhere else, say this. “Mapan nak diay” means **“I will go there**”. You can include where you want to go, too. For example, “mapan nak diay palengke” which means “I will go to the market”.
***8. Awan kwartakon***
This is a phrase fitting for my situation right now. This means “**I have no money**.” You can say this to express your frustrations of being broke. This is an expression I’ve been using the most recently.
***9. Mabisin nak***
Other than the phrase above, I’ve been usually saying this. It means “**I’m hungry.**” Tell this when you’re hungry and want something to eat. If you’re parched or dehydrated, say “makain-inum nak”.
***10. Makapaladingit ti napasamak***
This means, “**What happened is so saddening**.” You say this when something bad happened. But, this phrase is really deep and only the older generation would be able to say this.
***11. Haan ko maawatan***
When you’re in class and can’t absorb anything, say this. This means “**I can’t understand**.” I’ve been saying this a lot because I can’t understand what I’m studying anymore. Pray for me (In Ilokano, this is “ikararagan dak”).
***12. Nagpudot tatta nga aldaw***
“**Today is so ho**t” is the meaning of this phrase. Since it is summer now, we really do say this a lot. Saying this won’t actually make it colder but the weather is really frustrating.
We do not really have anything in our language to denote respect, unlike in Filipino so make sure your tone is really polite. I hoped you learned something here.
Languages are beautiful in their own ways and I wish you appreciate the Ilocano language too.
Love During the Pandemic: A Love Story
`Is it possible to love someone when you’re far apart? Can you get close to someone miles away from you? The pandemic made us ask this questions. But, it is up to us to answer them whether love is really possible.`
The pandemic have started so long ago but I still remember how it started because it was also the time when my love story started.
It was a busy night. I was rushing one of my school requirements for tomorrow class in my dorm. It was the usual night for a college student like me and never did I imagine that would be my last time in my dorm. That night they announced a month-long lockdown due to the pandemic.
I was ecstatic, of course. That meant I won’t need to finish my school requirement and I can finally go home. It was vacation in my mind. I immediately went to my bed and celebrated with my classmates in our group chat. And one of my classmates is someone I secretly have a crush on. We were in the same group of friends but it was only recently that we started talking in private chats.
That night I was joking about wanting to say something to him. He might have thought I wasn’t serious but I actually had thoughts of confessing that I have a crush on him. But, I was really, really scared because I know I’m not going to receive a positive response.
Yet, the pandemic happened. My hesitations was slowly fading. I’ve thought to myself that I should just confess because I wouldn’t see him for a long time. And I’d have enough time to move on. We chatted away and my urge to confess just kept growing.
Then, I did. I told him I like him and he doesn’t really need to respond. He was shocked. And I was really nervous that time. I once proved again that I am such an impulsive person. Though, I really wanted to confess so I would get rejected and moved on from it. For me, it is better to tell my feelings rather than hoping for nothing.
But, I didn’t get rejected. He didn’t pushed me away. We actually got closer. During the lockdown, we chatted everyday. We shared memes, talked about random things and made corny jokes with each other. We comforted each other and made each other laugh. We grew more attached.
I was happy but a part of me was worried because I never expected us to be so close. We became too close that we began to get sweet and a little romantic with each other. Little by little, I felt that he liked me too.
But I didn’t want to be so sure. When I confessed, I wasn’t too scared of rejection. But when we got closer, I was more scared to know how really felt. I was scared that our connection would end if I bring up our feelings. We didn’t really talked that much about how we felt towards each other in romantic sense.
Yet, what’s bound to happen will happen. We ended up talking about how we felt. And finally, it ended.
Our connection ended but started anew. He confessed that he liked me, too. It was the start of a romantic connection between us. We became more sweeter with each other. We took our time knowing more of each other’s personalities.
Even when we’re far apart, it felt like we were so close to each other. We had constant communication. We made sure that we make each other feel loved through our consistent reminder to take care of ourselves, to eat well and to sleep well. We made sure to start our day together and end the night together.
We took our time. We didn’t become an official couple immediately. We were in a relationship with no label but we were both committed. We wanted to be officially together when the pandemic is over so we can have the freedom to be with each other.
But, the pandemic was too long. So it really took longer for us to be together officially.
However, we did not let the pandemic stop us from making our love grow. We had our first date when I needed companion for one of our projects. We met, had lunch together and talked like usual. But it felt different having him with physically. And we were really nervous so we couldn’t get too intimate at first. But our next dates became much more comfortable. We held hands, hugged and cling with each other.
After some time, he asked me the question and we became together officially. Now, we’re happy like we have always been with or with no label. What is really important is you are truly committed with each other.
The pandemic helped us start our love story . But, the pandemic also delayed it.
However, we did not let it become a hindrance. We let our love grow and nurtured it with our love, trust and open communication.
***Our love stories starts in different ways and some are unexpected. But all love stories should end the same way – a happily ever after.***
