What I Did For our Arts Subject
During our mid-year semester, we had an Arts Appreciation subject and we did a lot of things to apply what we have learned.
Improving our Home While Applying Principles of Design
This plant stand was in my mother’s gardening area. She got into gardening when it was a trend. But, these days she got really busy so she couldn’t take care of her plants that much anymore. I happen to see it and took it the opportunity to try improving it.
The plants grew too tall and they don’t look good anymore. There was no organization on the placement of the plants – some plants were too short and beside them were plants that were too tall. There was no sense of uniformity too. The overall look of the plant stand were dull and empty.
Hoping to make it look better, I started by cleaning the place. I relocated the plants that do not suit the plant stand. I could not replace the plant stand to a better one because we do not have anything else. It was only a makeshift plant stand made from residual materials. I tried to find plants that are smaller to replace the old ones.
I placed the new tall plants away from each other. Between them, I placed smaller plants. I tried to place similar looking plants because I didn’t have two plants of the same kind. I tried to make the volume of the leaves of the plants in the two sides similar. With this, I achieved a sense of uniformity and balance. It had more harmony by having plants and pots with the same colors. By having the pattern of tall plants then small plants in between, I created rhythm in it.
I placed empty pots in between in order to avoid making it look too crowded. Having so many plants and leaves in this small plant stand is too much. But, in order not to make the sides too empty either I placed another tall plants on the sides under the plant stand. Looking at it overall, there is proportion achieved.
It was tiring to carry pots all by myself but it was satisfying to see what I worked hard for. I hope to learn more about designing different things. This art activity was a good opportunity.
I Am an ART - Representing Myself Through an Artwork
This is a simple crochet art I made. This is only a simple garden with some flowers and butterflies. In the past, I have always liked to compare myself to a butterfly. Butterflies look fragile and small but they are incredible creatures who can travel far and long. I may be weak in some things but I have the capability to endure the long and difficult path of life I have taken, especially in my course BSA. Like butterflies with different prints, I like to think that everyone is unique. I am different with other people in some aspects but that does not make me weird. It makes us all beautiful.
But, at present I have realized that I am not just a butterfly. I can compare myaelf to a whole garden. After time, I have grown. I have widened my perspective in some things. I have learned to be betterat expressing myself. Like a garden where flowers grow, I have become a person that let parts of me to grow.
As you can see, this is only a simple garden with not so much plants going on. That's because, just like it, I am still growing. I am still improving myself. But this also shows that I am just a simple person.
Lastly, I am the one who crochets my life. I made myself better through the inspiration of the people around me. But, there are some parts of me that aren't the same as others like how the grass is a different material but it's okay to be a little different.
Those are the little things I have made for our subject. I am not an artist so thet weren't really wonderful but I'm proud to have accomplished something.

A Narrow Path Towards Endless Possibilities
It was during our past small trip with my friends that I took this shot. While we were strolling around, looking at the wonderful sea of San Esteban, Ilocos Sur, I came across this beautiful sight. It looked like a deep, beautiful trench. The water between the rocks was so clear. It captivated me so much that I tried to take a picture using my cellphone camera. I may not have captured its complete beauty with my beginner skills, I am glad I was able to store this beautiful memory of mine.
When I don't really feel like doing anything, I scroll through my phone gallery. Every time I encounter this picture, it reminds me of that little fun trip we had. Photographs are really amazing. They freeze time, store that memory and so when the time comes that we want to relive that moment, we can just look at that photo again.
I think these photographs is not just a representation of a beautiful memory, but something that tells us a story - something that we can relate to our lives
This sight made me reminisce about how my life went. My life may not be as hard as
others, but it does not mean it was easy. I had my share of hardships and struggles. My family is not well-off. We were really in a tight financial situation and it was harder during the time before I had to go to college. We did not have a stable income.
Nevertheless, my parents wanted me to study so I can have a bright future. But, I know I cannot be selfish in choosing a degree and university that are too expensive. I did not have any passion and neither did I have that much choice for my future. It was only my duty to continue my studies so I can provide for my family and myself in the future. That's why, I went to college without much thought.
I chose this current course of mine because it was not as costly as taking science courses and I would have a lot of opportunities after I graduated. I was already in a narrow path before I started this course but the road to college was a lot narrower. This picture represents the path my life has directed me.
The space is a tight path that gets tighter the more you go into it. The more I sail into these unfamiliar waters, the more I struggle. I feel more stuck the more I move. But, this narrow path will lead me somewhere. I will continue my path, trusting that my choice will lead me to a sea of opportunities to make my life better. Our life takes us to different places. But, taking the wrong path will not make us lost. Life has its own way of redirecting us to the path we need to be.
My life may have gone into a rocky, narrow path that I did not choose freely, I am sure that my life will redirect me to somewhere I need to be. I am the sailor of my own life and I will make sure that I will pass over this rocky obstacle of mine. The more that I progress in this difficult path, the more that I gain confidence that I can get through it towards the end. The struggles may have wounded me but it made me tougher and stronger. This shot that I took is a representation of what I have come to and what I will achieve.
I hope I will look into this photo in the future and tell myself that I was right to believe in the path I have taken.

My Perception of Life and Art
We all view things differently. We may have similarities, but I still think we have unique perspectives.
I am to share my own outlook about art and life.
What is art for me?
***Art is how we answer to the questions that the world puts in front of us.***
When faced with challenges, we use different materials available and accessible to us. Using these materials, we make new things that will help us handle these challenges that we face. That is how we make art. That is how artists used their creativity to make art that have helped our society develop.
Through art, we can give responses to the things that life throws at us. We become artists when we make art when we experiences different emotions due to our surroundings.
When we are overwhelmed with our feelings, we respond through drawing, painting, composing songs and writing. Art are the things we make to deal with the things we encounter everyday.
In my own experience, art is truly my response to my life experiences.
When everything surrounds me feels suffocating and pressure, I get my pencil and paper and sketch to ease my mind. When I crave for peace and solace, I get my hook and my yarns to crochet cute things. When I was heartbroken and lonely, I made poems. I wrote my pain in paper to face the emotions that taking over me. It helped me not lose myself.
***Art was my answer when life throws unanswerable questions to me.***
Even when I was experiencing happiness and love, art was still my response. I wrote poems and letters, hoping to materialize those beautiful feelings I was experiencing. Without art, I would not be able to deal with those different experiences.
What is my concept of a good life?
My concept of good life is a simple life of happiness. Good life does not have to be sophisticated. I do not need to be rich like a billionaire. I only need enough.
Good life is where I can live with comfort and where I am contented. I can say I am living a good life as long as I am contented and comfortable of the way I live.
In a clip from the movie, Little Forest, the female lead came back to her hometown. We can see that it was not as industrialized as the cities. The place is rural. All you see are green fields and verdant trees. She cooks her own meal from the vegetables she herself grew. She has also a dog that serves as her best friend. I think the life she has is the good life I aspire to have.
Life becomes more comfortable when we are close to nature. Living in a place filled with trees and green sceneries is refreshing. The cool breeze and clean air soothes the soul.
Growing your own food makes us independent. It makes us more thankful to the things that we have because we know it is us that worked hard for it. We can have any food we want because we can make it. We have enough. Having these simple things is contentment for me.
Seeing the woman, smiling while riding her bicycle made me think that she is really living the best life she can. I think the same too.
Someday, I will find a home close to nature, having my own garden that my family and I have grown. We will have pets we can play around. We will spend our days cooking the food we want and doing the things we want.
I have been resting during these days. Thanks to read.cash, I have an outliet of these thoughts that run through my head.
Good days ahead, everyone.

A Question Our Teacher Once Asked Us
One of our subject teachers gave us an activity, which is to answer these question:
***Who or what is your happiness? Why it brings happiness to your life?***
I immediately thought of my boyfriend. It was one of the easiest question to answer for me because my boyfriend is the person who gives me the most happiness. I am happy on my own but, he makes me much more happier when we're together.
**This is how I answered that question.**
*I have always thought that happiness was a fleeting moment. It is a feeling that you experience for a little while but fades away instantly. Sadness will always find its way to creep into our happiness and loneliness is always in the corner to haunt us. That was how I’ve always thought before, but not until I found him, my soulmate.*
*He’s my soulmate and my partner in life. He is someone who makes me feel happy, not just for a fleeting moment. He makes me happy every day, every hour and every moment. That is why I don’t believe that happiness easily fades anymore. Happiness stays.*
*He gives me happiness in our morning talks. It makes me happy that the first we thing we do in the morning is greet each other and the last thing we do for the day is bid each other good night. Even when we’re far, he makes me feel that he is always here for me. His presence gives me joy that makes me think my bad days become good. He shares fun things he encounters throughout the day with me. He tells me corny jokes. He makes me laugh at his silly antics. I find delight in our random conversation. He engages in my weird topics. I just feel happy being with him.*
*Those are just simple, little things, right? I have always thought that happiness was all about grand gestures. But, with him, I have felt happy in the trivial little things. He makes me happy with the little things. That’s why I learned that happiness come from how we make the simple things matter in our lives. Our happiness will not fade away if we always try to see the good in the little things.*
*He made me appreciate myself more and that is why I am happier than ever. I was someone who cannot appreciate myself. I have tried loving myself but it was hard doing alone. But, he made it easier for me. He tells me I’m pretty even when I look a mess in the morning. He tells me he loves my smile, my eyes and everything about me. He always cares for me. He listens when there’s something bothering me. He is always proud of me.*
*He gives me happiness because he loves me the way I am. He loves me in the best way he can. He loves me in the way I deserve. It also gives me happiness because I am able to love him the way he should be loved. There is more joy in giving love than receiving. Seeing him happy is a reason of my happiness too. Our love and care for each other gives me happiness that will last. Having someone that is always there for you gives us joy that will never fade away. He is my soulmate, my solace. I am happy before but he made me happier now and in the future.*
I think my answer to that question would not change throughout my life. He will always be my constant. He is a permanent person in my life and I would do my best to keep him happy, as much as he makes me happy too. I think I would even try to make him happier than he makes me.
***I hope you'll also find that person that will be your constant - someone who will not leave you and someone who will stay and make you happy everyday.***

*Walang lugar at walang kapayapaan*
*Wala akong kasalanan ngunit tinuturing akong kriminal dito*
*Walang kalayaan at walang karapatan*
*Pinagkakakitaan ngunit pinapabayaan*

What If We Make Bitter Gourds Sweet?
I was not fond of eating bitter gourd, or commonly known as ampalaya. This vegetable is bitter, true to its name. But, because of the nutrients and health benefits it provides, I still tried to eat it. I have only liked it when it was cooked as an omelette. Yet, most of the time I try to avoid it when served at home. Unfortunately, I did not know how hard it was to grow ampalaya in our locality.
Bitter gourd or ampalaya are a favorite host of fruit flies and worms. Farmers struggle to grow bitter gourds as they are susceptible to pests. They usually protect the fruits by bagging them with plastic bag or newspapers. However, using plastic bag would make the fruit curl while using newspaper would not fully cover the whole fruit. This also requires them more work.
Therefore, I thought of having ampalaya genetically modified to be resistant to pests and fruit flies. Cotton and corn are Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) that are resistant to insects, by having the Bacillus thuringiensis engineered into them. Bitter gourd should also be modified to be pest-resistant by engineering this Bt toxin to them.
Additionally, many people does not appreciate ampalaya even if it has a lot of benefits. One characteristic of this GMO bitter gourd is that it is a lot sweeter and delicious than the common ones. With this, more people would patronize bitter gourds.
In what ways do you think this GMO can positively impact society?
There are a lot of farmers that grow and sell bitter gourds. However, because of the damages their crops suffer, they also suffer a lot of losses financially. Creating a crop that does not get affected by pests will lead them to more profits. Farmers enjoying the fruit of their hard work will benefit their family and community. Additionally, ampalaya farming constitute a profitable livelihood option for the society.
Making bitter gourds easier to grow and appetizing to eat will add more to our viable food supply. Since people would me more willing to it bitter gourds and farmers ensure its supply, this GMO will ensure food security more. Bitter gourds, known for its nutrition benefits will also make people of our society healthier and less susceptible to diseases like diabetes.
What ethical issues or concerns arise as a result of this GMO?
One ethical issue of this GMO bitter gourd is its potential danger to the environment. Making it resistant to pests may cause other insects to be harmed because of its modified characteristics. It may pose a danger to insects that do not damage the fruits. This will cause harm to the environment because it affects things that should not have been affected.
Another issue is the possibility that it may harm human health in the long run. The modification of bitter gourds may have an impact on human health that is not evident immediately.
Developers of this GMO may exploit farmers by making it too expensive for them to buy. Big companies that will distribute this crop may not sell it cheap to local farmers. Farmers not having access to this GMO will settle for the non-GMO bitter gourd. However, the companies that will sell this better tasting bitter gourd may monopolize the market, causing losses to the farmers.
But, this is only an imagination of mine. I am not a scientist so I would not know if this is really possible. Yet, it's fun to think that there is a possibility to modify bitter gourds. As we all know, the only permanent thing in this world is change.

Society Cannot Live Without Biodiversity
Ever since the world began, nature has provided us everything we need. Every breath we take, every drop we drink, every bite we eat - it all comes from nature. Our nature's biodiversity is what has kept us alive all these times.
Biodiversity refers to the variety of life on Earth - from humans, plants, animals and to organisms we know little about, such as microbes and fungi. This comprises the diversity of the ecosystem, genes, and cultures, as well as the relationships between these and all other species.
The different life forms in our environment makes our world more beautiful. Take a look around you.
See the wonder of our verdant and wide plains, tall and majestic trees, infinite and glistening seas as well as different animals with their own unique beauty.
***Isn't it incredible that we are a part of this beautiful diversity?***
We, humans, are interconnected with the biodiversity around us. Human actions, beliefs, and knowledge influence, and in turn are influenced, by the natural systems of which human communities are a part of. This connection makes all biodiversity and cultural ties to the places we inhabit, whether nearby or in other countries, important to our wellbeing since they all contribute to preserving a planet that is diverse and healthy.
***Human society was able to emerge because of our rich biodiversity. Like a car without its key, there is no society.***
Our societal needs have been provided by nature around us such as food, fuel, shelter, and medicine. The different plants that we grow, such as rice, vegetables and fruits provide us with nutrients that keep us healthy. The trees provide shade for us and also become wood for our homes and furniture. Those diseases and sickness that appear have been cured by medicines derived from our biodiversity. With our biodiversity supporting our basic societal needs, we become a healthy society that progresses smoothly without worrying about our fundamental necessities.
We rely on nature wherever we live, whether in a city, town, or village. Every individual needs healthy and prosperous economies that are supported by biodiversity. The decisions we make today as consumers, businesses, governments, and a society are affected by biodiversity.
***Without biodiversity, we cannot function as a human society.***
Last but not least, we can also view the importance of biodiversity through the prism of the connections we create and pursue with one another and the rest of nature. We may appreciate biodiversity because it influences societal norms, our sense of self, and our interactions with others. These relational values are part of peoples’ individual or collective sense of wellbeing, accountability for, and relationship with the environment. The various values associated with biodiversity are significant because they can affect the daily choices our society makes.
Thus, we must take active part in this endeavor by identifying and conserving vanishing plant and animal species.
However, humans have been causing massive and rapid loss of biodiversity on our planet. Growing human population, overconsumption and destructive industrialization constitute the underlying reasons of biodiversity loss. Habitat loss and fragmentation, unsustainable resource use, invasive species, pollution, and global climate change are all caused by our carelessness. Even though we cannot live without our nature's biodiversity, we are the ones who bring its ruin and cause it's discontinuity.
Before it is too late, we must act to protect our biodiversity. Before we regret everything, we must do what we can do.
We are the threat to our own environment when all our environment has done was keep us alive.

Why Kids Should be Restricted in Using the Internet
Our way of living have changed because of technology. We have become dependent on gadgets and appliances that made our lives easier. Most of all, our lives have greatly changed because of the Internet, where social media sites have emerged. Social media totally shifted the way we lived our lives. Almost every hour, we use them. We get access to information and we communicate with different people using those sites. However, not everyone should be completely allowed to use social media.
**The Issue**
As the pictures shows, it obviously tells us that kids should be kept out from social media. Social media is a big help. It’s an entertainment, a medium of communication and a source of information. Nevertheless, the issue is that kids are not yet mature and responsible to use social media sites. They do not have that much experiences that will help them handle what social media offers. They get access to explicit content and bad influence. They can talk to strangers who can expose them to danger. They need guidance and restrictions when using social media, which right now are not given to them. The lack of this guidance has become a problem for this growing kids.
The Impact
Kids having access to social media at a young age would not do our society any good. Social media does not filter violence that much. Young minds can view violent content freely. This will lead them to try such things as they will think it is okay, which in turn will result to more juvenile crimes. They become violent in the way the act and the way they speak. Children have it easy to say bad words and hurt others. Other than that, it can be traumatic for some children to watch violence at an early age. Moreover, children who use social media become victims of sexual crimes. They are more gullible and easy to manipulate. Evil people try to use social media to prey on children. Because of children having freely access to social media, they are exposed to violence, which results to society where crimes are prevalent.
Children also become victims of addiction to social media. They become lazy. They do not learn how to be responsible. If the young ones right now do not learn how to live their lives, they become adults who are immature. They become adults who will not be able to become independent enough.
Rather than experiencing the outside world to discover more about the real things, they depend more on social media to learn which is dangerous. Children get influenced by false information which are easily spread in social media. Wrong ideologies are fed to children at young age They easily believe false history and harmful fake new that corrupt their minds. Kids who grow up without being taught how to discern the truth are harmful to our society. They become adults who cannot respect because they are fed with false beliefs.
The youth is our future. The kids brings hope for a brighter tomorrow. However, if this kids are corrupted because of social media, will we still have that hope? Our humanity should protect kids from harm and danger. Our well-being would not continue to prosper if we expose our kids to bad influence. Parents and adults should guide children on how they use social media so they would turn out to be adults who have good behavior.
The Response
To bring light to such different issues in our society brought about by technology, we must study and learn technology in social contexts. It allows us to learn how science and technology affects our society in different aspects. We must know how to handle the changes that we go through because of advancement of science and technology.
As technologies develop, we experience a lot of advantages. We are benefitted by these advancements because it enhances our standard of living. Our society improves because of it. That is why, we should learn more about it so we can fully utilize those benefits in our lives.
On the other hand, the progress of our society due to science and technology is accompanied by some harmful disadvantages. New scientific knowledge can be use to harm other people. Advanced technology can lead people to unfamiliar dangers. Which is why, it is really important for us to address this disadvantages. Issues and problems arise because of modern science and technology we should view them in a wider perspective.
As stated, an issue connected here is the lack of guidance and restriction regarding children using social media sites and Internet. This is one of the visible problems our society goes through because of improvement of technology. We should create an avenue to research and resolve problems that emerged due to technologies. Without research, we cannot bring these issues in the eyes of people who have the academic capability to provide solutions.

It's raining a lot here in our place 😔 Let's all stay safe everyone
A World of Blue Waiting For Me
*Music is art.*
This song titled “Blue” is a piece of art by Japanese music duo Yoasobi. This is actually the English version of their song “Gunjou”. Even if I cannot understand the Japanese language, I felt the song in my heart. I first fell in love with the Japanese version and it made me happy that they made an English version so people like me would better understand their work of art.
This song is based on a Japanese manga or comics, Blue Period. It is a story about a high school student who is popular in their school and has good grades, despite being a delinquent with a carefree attitude.
However, deep inside, he battles with feelings of emptiness. Even when he hangs out with his friends, he feels that he wants something more fulfilling in his life. While mulling over his confusion, he finds himself staring at the vibrant blue landscape in their city.
When he visited his school’s art club, that is when he was inspired to pursue art. He felt a different kind of emotion while he put his all in painting that blue landscape he always sees. This is where his journey of pursuing art started. The song is based on his story. It talks about finding our passion and the struggles that come with pursuing it.
I felt a connection with this song because I can relate to what it wants to express. I was also a good student when I was in high school. I had fairly good grades. I have friends I hang out with which made my daily life fun and exciting.
*However, I always felt that I had no purpose.*
I was just going along with my life without thinking where it takes me. That is why, I had no idea what I should do after high school. At 16, I had to decide what career path I should take.
Like the song, I always felt that an emptiness surrounds me. I may have been good at studying, but I felt lost because I had no passion. It was pressuring. I chose Accountancy as my career path even when I did not really like it. I worked hard, expecting myself to eventually find my passion in this path I have taken.
*I hope that was the case, but I just found it harder and harder to go on.* ***Yet, I still kept moving forward.***
The song resonated something in me. Pretending that I want this will not help me. I don’t have to force myself to have passion for something I don’t really enjoy. I always thought I had no choice but to accept that I had no passion or any direction in life. But, the song taught me, it’s always there waiting for me. Maybe for now, I still can’t see it. What matters is that I have hope. I am still young. I have decided that I shall continue this path I have taken and used what I have learned to be independent enough to look for what I have been searching for.
There will be a world of blue waiting for me.
Finding my passion is scary. It can be confusing. It is risky. Being able to find what I really want is not the ending. It would be just the beginning of my real life journey. There will be struggles, as the song says. I would find myself lagging behind. I foresee myself hesitating because of my lack of confidence.
But, when that time comes, I would turn again to art, to this song, for me to find the strength to keep going. It will be alright. My life may take a rock path. I may even go to the wrong places. I may have a slower pace than everybody else. But, that is how life is. The song teaches me that all I can really do is to have the fun even when the path is painful.
In times of loneliness, we turn to art. Songs like this are works of art that soothes our soul. We can all find comfort in art. This should also remind us that differences in languages should not be an obstacle for us to appreciate art. When we overcome that language barrier, we can open a new door full of wonders that will make our life more colorful.
This is only a life reflection of mine. I'm not promoting anything for monetary purposes.

Fun Things To Do With Friends
*No man is an island, they say.*
I agree.
What is life when you won’t spend it with fun people you’re comfortable with? What is life when you have no one else to share your joys and sadness with? What is life when you live on your own with no one to rely when you’re in need?
Indeed, we have to be independent in life. We should be able to stand alone. People may be temporary and the world is changing. So we must be able to live without being reliant on other people. We have to train ourselves to be strong on our own.
And we may have taught ourselves to strong and independent, however, this should not keep us from letting people in our lives. We should only make ourselves tough but not aloof.
That’s why it’s really important to have friends. Friends give so much music and color in our lives. They make our worlds more cheerful and bright. And I hope that no matter where life takes us, we always make friends that will stay with us for life.
Because friends helps you live a fun life. Our time on Earth is short and being with friends make it really worthwhile.
There are a lot of fun things to do with our friends. Every group of friends have their own preferences. We like to store different memories to remember later. Here’s what we usually do when we have the time.
Eat good food together after tiring classes and hard exams
Before the pandemic, it was easier to cope with disappointments in our studies because we had friends to hang out with after exams. After our classes, we wind up by finding new things eat. We usually eat at fast food and talk about fun things there. We let out our regrets, our sadness and everything. It’s just good to vent out with people who are going through the same things.
And eating really good food lifts up your mood. Sad? Have ice cream. Regretful? Eat chicken. And it’s really much more fun when you do it with your friends.
Share memes everyday
I think every friends have their own group chats. And if you still have not made one, you’re really missing out. In group chats, you can greet each other everyday even if you’re not together. Though, group chats are not really filled with greetings and such. It’s filled with memes.
Every funny picture we find on any social media site is sent to the group chat. And friends would react a laughing emoji. It’s just a tiny thing, sending memes, but it shows that we’re the people they want to share fun things with. It’s also really funny especially when they share weird memes.
Drink together
Sometimes, we just go out to drink milk tea and nothing more. Then we spend our time relaxing on milk tea shops because they are cold and quiet. My friends really love milk tea and I would still go with them even if I’m not really a fan of milk tea. It’s the companionship that counts. Being in the comforts of your friends’ presence feels really soothing.
But, other than milk tea, it’s a fun thing to drink something harder than milk tea. We’re adults and we can’t help but also try a little beer. But, not to get drunk though. It’s just nice to sit in a circle together and laugh at each others funny antics.
Those are just some of the few things we do with friends. Sad times, fun times and quiet times are better spent with people we love. Let us not take our life for granted. We should live to experience the world with people other than ourselves. Let us open ourselves to people we can depend and trust.
It's good to be back again! Have a good day

How Accountants Struggled during the Pandemic
Accounting is relevant in all ways of life, especially in the field of business. The business world needs information that will help decision-makers make informed choices. The objective of accounting is to provide that useful information.
The contribution of accounting in the business world is vital. It is essential because without it, people in business would struggle to plan and strategize their next course of action, affecting many of us.
Accounting and its flexibility
Accounting, being connected to our lives, changes when ways of life change. As much as accounting has an impact in our life, it is also affected by the shifts that our lives undergo.
As the world becomes more complex, accounting has to keep up to continuously provide the needs of the users of accounting information. Accounting evolved through the years and continuously evolves in response to the developments of our society and economy. Consequently, the accountants, skills and capabilities have intensely changed through the years.
However, adjusting with the changes can prove to be difficult when a global crisis hits unexpectedly. When the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed a global pandemic, major proportion of the world's countries was forced to adopt emergency measures.
How the pandemic shook the accounting world
Businesses suffered lost profits, while financial markets are volatile and restless. Global supply chains experience instability which exposed the weaknesses of organizations. During such unprecedented times, where disruptions and changes in businesses arise, immediate action and adaptive measures are demanded from the accounting field.
Businesses are in the risk of bankruptcy. Professional accountants' roles and abilities must adapt in response to the demands of the external environment, as they provide strategic advice to help businesses stay afloat and ensure their going concern. Changes during the pandemic require new considerations and adjustments on the side of the accountants.
Accountants in the new normal
The pandemic changed significant aspects in our lives. In order to stop the virus from spreading further, governments around the world have devised and implemented measures, especially lockdowns and curfews. Accountants and the organizations they belong to must adapt quickly. Every employee, even accountants, started the work from home set-up. The accountant’s home became their workplace instead of their desks or offices in their company building.
The accountant’s workplace is considered to be the most digitized in businesses nowadays. It has computer, and software items for easier accounting work automation. However, some businesses would still rely on traditional, manual accounting because of the cost. These businesses who still rely on manual systems would need to develop new approach. Further, accountants who used to conduct in-person client services have to settle with alternatives due to remote working.
Additionally, governments have also established contingency plans and put in place support measures to minimize and mitigate the destructive impact of pandemic in civilians, businesses and economies, in general. Such measures have definitely affected the work of accountants, particularly in accounting and financial reporting requirements.
Accountants should reconsider and assess how they can stay relevant and adapt to new conditions and situations in order to be properly prepared for uncertainties. However, questions arise whether accountants can keep up with the abrupt changes during unexpected situations. Professionals are required to be flexible, especially for accountants to fit with the changing business world. Yet, accountants are challenged with the sudden shift of the requirements of their work due to the pandemic.
Why is it important to consider such struggles
Given the changes in the accounting and reporting requirements, it is important to study the situation of accountants during the pandemic. This is to help professional accountants focus on their weaknesses and enhance their productivity. This will give insight to managers and business to help them take action on assisting accountants during this unprecedented times. For authorities regulating the profession, this will give them the basis to make resolutions. For accountancy students, this study will help them know what to expect on the future profession and this will also help the academe to possibly integrating the changes during the pandemic to the accountancy education. Overall, this study will provide benefit to the society as accountants have a big role in keeping it going.

Hello everyone! Academics and other life to-do's have been taking my time lately. I'm hoping to be back later on. Wish me luck on my exams 💛
Disappointments and Disbelief: What Elections Made me Realize
Democracy is wasted when people are brimming with ignorance and idiocy.
Democracy is nothing but a curse when citizens do not have a single care on knowing who to choose. Democracy is just a blackhole when all we do is give positions to the undeserving ones.
Democracy could have been a gift, a blessing, for us to choose the right people to lead us. We could have chosen the people who have clean hands and concrete plans. We could have chosen those who have high credentials and education. But, all we do is put questionable people in position.
Democracy gives us chances to have good governance, an administration that puts the citizen’s sake first. But, all we have done is vote for people who just ran for their self-interests.
This elections have been nothing but a disappointment. We proved to be a country, undeserving of the blessing of democracy. We proved ourselves to be the ruiners of our own futures
Imagine, we could have candidates who have served the public with compassion throughout the years, but all we have chosen are candidates who already have famous names. And these famous names have no good reputation and qualifications accompanying it.
Hearts are broken. Hope has dimmed. The things that the youth have fought for were just trashed and crumpled by the older generations who are victims and willing prey of misinformation.
Is it so hard to look at credible sources and know what there is to know of a candidate? Is it so hard not to rely solely on posts on social media platforms but look for more contexts and details? Is it so hard to know more about the truth?
Maybe, it’s really hard when the truth is just negativity we must ignore. We are so desperate for a positive change that we overlook the stinking truth of these undeserving candidates. But, that’s just toxic and maybe, ignorant.
We are so known of our resilience that we have continuously depend on our resilience to suffer the consequences of our decisions. We are in an abusive relationship with our government. We keep getting hurt, violated and treated poorly, yet we keep on electing back these officials. We keep voting for them and just rely on our so-called resilience.
We wish for change, but we don’t work for it. We wish for a bright future, but we don’t care about our present.
Our decisions now are made for maybe a single minute of shading ballots. But, our decisions now affect more than our present. It affects our future. It affects the next six years. Truth to be told, it affects our life more than six years from now. It has a long term impact, affecting our sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters.
Are we too lazy to realize our dream of a bright future? Are we too prideful to change our stance once we are proven wrong?
When you have voted for an undeserving person and they have won, do not feel victorious. Do not celebrate. It is only them who have won. And, we citizens, like always, are on the losing side.
We have the power to change the people who would lead us, but that power is wasted on us when we keep on messing up.
Another coming years of hardships awaits us. It is such a shame to waste once in a lifetime candidates because we keep fooling ourselves. We don’t know how worse the next few years will be.
It was wistful thinking to wish we’re already tired of the same politics. It was too much expectation that we won’t let ourselves be fooled by what is spread on the Internet.
After we have already come from a term of disappointment, we are nearing another one.

Happy 5.5 Sale: Perfect Time to Buy Gifts!
It’s that time of the month again where discounts are everywhere, vouchers are overflowing and the urge to buy is peaking. Yes, it’s that time every month where online shops collectively offer sales discounts and free shipping fees.
Every month when the month and date are the same number, shops offer a lot of discount coupons and free shipping vouchers. For this month of May, that day falls on May 5 or the 5.5 sale.
As someone who is careful with her finances, I tried my best to ignore the vouchers notifying me and continue my day. But, some things sre hard to resist. So, I justified to myself that I can buy something then I can earn that money back. I sure hope that I’ll be able, too.
***So, here are the few purchases I made yesterday.***
Tala by Kyla Heedo’s Diary Inspired Collection: Injeolmi Rose
As a fan of Twenty-five, Twenty-one, I was really excited that they released a collecton inspired by it. And the pendants are so pretty too.
There’s a locket designed with Heedo’s diary. You can customize the picture you want to put inside the locket. There’s also Na Heedo’s keyring attached on her bag in the Korean drama. But, I chose the Injeolmi rose, which is the yellow rose brought by Heedo and Yurim when they tried to meet each other.
But, I did not buy it for myself though. I bought it as a gift for my dear friend whose birthday is in days.
It was really hard choosing a gift for her since she has everything already. But, then I remembered she started wearing necklace, which she said she didn’t really like wearing before. So, I brought her one and let her choose what she wants.
It was difficult to choose since the designs in the shop were limited. But, when I showed her the picture of the rose, she told me she liked it. So, I did not wait any longer and checked it out.
The seller sent a picture before shipping the necklace out. It was really beautiful.
Tala by Kyla Goddess Collection: Goddess of the Moon
After checking out the necklace I’m giving as a gift, I had the urge to buy one for myself too. I’ve always wanted to buy myself my own necklace.
The necklace I’ve been wearing is a gift from my boyfriend. It’s a butterfly necklace, his birthday gift for me last year. It was really special since it’s the first necklace I’ve received from someone as a gift. He also gifted me beaded necklace which I wear when I think is fitting for my outfit.
But, I really want to gift myself too. After scrolling through the shop, I found the Goddess collection. The pendants were beautiful and looked magical.
At first, I wanted the Goddess of the Sea design (the blue circle on the right) because it reminds me of my favorite book series, Percy Jackson. Then, I saw the Goddess of the Moon, which reminded me of the Hunters of Artemis in the book series. I’ve always wanted a moon necklace so I felt conflicted.
But, after considerations and consultation from my friends, I decided to order the Goddess of the Moon. Isn’t it so pretty?
Candy Hair clips
I was planning to buy this from a shop in Facebook. I personally know the seller so I brought it from her shop. Too bad, the seller isn’t still replying. I can understand though since, the seller is busy with something I’m aware of.
Those arw my purchases yesterday. Now, I’m broke. But, I’m not too worried thanks to read.cash. Because of this platform, I am able to earn small amounts even when I’m still a student.
`Disclaimer: This is not a paid promotion. I am not in any way marketing the product. I am mere sharing my experiences and perspectives.`

Election Anxiety: Fearing the Future
Our country is nearing towards its elections. After 5 days, we’ll be able to change our president, vice president and senators. The elections is only for a day. Citizens will fill up their ballots and go home. It’s such a simple event.
***But, why is it so important?***
Elections are more than just shading ballots. ***The election is a chance for a new administration, a new government. It is our way to change our future.***
It is the peak of our freedom as a citizen of our democratic country to choose the people who will serve us. By exercising our right to vote, we’ll create a future better than what others have imagined.
*What people think of the election*
Some of us might not be thinking too much about the elections. It might be because they’re apolitical. They don’t really have to care about politics because they wouldn’t be affected. They are privileged enough to live the same even when corrupt officials get seated.
But, there are some who doesn’t care simply because they think it’s already hopeless. So many leaders have been elected, carrying their promises but never fulfilling them. These citizens who trusted these leaders have been betrayed so many times that they stopped depending on elections. For them, everything would be the same. Poverty will still pull them down.
Yet, there are those who sees hope in the upcoming elections. ***They see the elections as a light at the end of the dark tunnel.*** And, it is understandable why they feel this way. Promising leaders with the best qualifications have joined the race. It would really be a waste not to give them the chance to change our country for the better.
*What a lot of people did for the election*
Many of us, especially the youth who aspires for a bright future, have moved mountains just to make sure the elections will not be another door for corrupt officials to enter. I know so many people who went beyond.
They did their own research
They did their best to know their candidates, researching all their credentials, issues and track record just to determine whether they fit the high standards appropriate for a president, vice president and senators.
**They spread the information they knew**
Infographics, sentimental posts and even memes filled up my social media feed for the past month, all for the sake of disseminating true information about the candidates to make people aware.
They encourage others to choose based on facts and morals
Social media and even personal campaigning just to help others choose the right people were done by the youth. They went great lengths just to make sure that their fellow youths and the adults they learn from help them build the future they deserve.
What elections make us feel
All the efforts many of us have done are proof that we are desperate for a new government. These efforts should make us proud of ourselves, knowing that we have truly proven our love for the country.
Yet, our great efforts can be wasted. There is the fear that the lengths we went to would not be enough.
***The fact that we have done so much makes us more anxious of the results.*** We’re scared that no matter how much effort we have exerted, the enemy can just trample it down.
I’ve seen a lot of my friends having “***election anxiety***”. And I can understand why they feel that.
There is a big chance that the elections would be manipulated by the evil who has the power and greed to do so. There is a big chance that the undecided will opt for the selfish and liars.
The future is at stake and we can’t help but fear that what awaits us is another dark path.
Yet, I wish that our hope would not be dimmed. Let us trust our efforts and let us trust our fellow citizens who also wish for a great country.
***Let us also remind ourselves that the elections isn’t the end, but just the beginning.*** It would really be delightful to elect the best candidate. But, whoever is elected, we still have the power to shape our future.
It would be our job after this election to see how the new officials would do. It is our right to criticize them, help them make decisions that will benefit us.
There is still so much to do, even after elections.

What to Prepare For College Dorm Life?
Next week, it’s back to school again! Our semester have already started. We also began our school activities.
But, after more than 2 years of online classes, I’ll be going back to school physically. I’ll be stepping in the campus grounds, opening the door to my classroom and sit for a day. Not really exciting, isn’t it?
Yet, I can’t help but feel kind of excited not because I’ll be studying physically in the classroom, but because I’ll be living far away from home again. Yes, I’m back to dorm life after two years of being a homebody at our house.
Before the pandemic, I lived in a dormitory near the school because our residence is too far from my university. So for convenience, I lived away from my parents. It was also necessary so I can train myself to be an independent adult.
There are hardships, living away from comfort, but they help you become better.
Next week, I’ll be transferring to my dormitory and live there temporarily. I need to prepare a lot of things.
***What did I prepare before entering my dorm life?***
Secure transportation
Transferring to dormitory is bringing your home in another place. And that’s a lot of work. You’d also need a vehicle that would fit all your baggages.
But, we don’t have that kind of vehicle. We only have a small tricycle which cannot travel to my dormitory as it is too far and it cannot fit all the things I need.
It would also be inconvenient to commute through utility vans and local bus lines. We can’t be too sure if everything will fit in the space provided. There’s also a chance of losing your things.
So, you really need to secure how will you transport all your things to your new place. You can rent a car or borrow from someone you know.
Lucky for me, I was able to ask my friend to ride with their vehicle since we’ll be living in the same dorm. We’ll certainly have more space to put our bags and there’d be lesser passengers compared to public transportation.
Shop all your necessities
Today was a national holiday so I took the chance of buying what I need. I went out with my mother to look for the things I’d be using in my dorm.
I could just buy online, I know you’ll think that because it’s a hassle to go out, but it maybe too late for that. I wouldn’t be sure where should I address the package.
Today, we bought a laundry basket because I don’t have one yet. I also bought a storage box for my books since the shelf in our dorm wouldn’t be enough to fit them. I also bought containers for coffee and milk. I wasn’t able to buy a basket for my bath essentials but I think I’ll just be buying online. We weren’t able to find a good one in the stores. I still need to buy pillows and umbrella but that will be settled soon.
For the groceries, it would be more practical to buy at the stores near my dormitory so I wouldn’t need to transport so much. It’s important to choose the ways that are more practical and convenient.
**Pack all necessary things**
Of course, we have to bring out the baga and fit whatever we need. Since we planned to travel during weekend, packing is not still urgent. But, I scheduled it at a time where we are more free. I asked my mother to help me (I also bribed her a little with halo-halo and siopao).
That’s all for now. I hope I won’t encounter that much problem in my dorm life. Good luck to me!

Typical Filipino Handaan: What to expect?
Have you ever tried eating together with Filipino families? Have you experienced joining their salo-salos and handaans? If you did, then you experienced a culture and tradition. Lucky you!
Before the pandemic, I remember going into our family friends’ having get-together parties with them without any reason. I remember getting excited for gatherings because some families I know will celebrate their sons’ and daughters’ graduation.
But, then pandemic happened. Gatherings weren’t allowed anymore. Filipinos, being known for their culture of having close family ties are totally affected.
That’s why when the restrictions have eased, so many Filipino families have started the tradition once again. My social media feed was filled with it.
And as a Filipino I had my fair share with family gatherings these days. Our relatives had a handaan or a feast yesterday, a small one though, and last week I went to another salo-salo with the other family friends. This week, a feast is waiting again. But, I am not complaining because free food.
***Now, what do you expect in a typical Filipino Handaan?***
**Filipino favorite dishes**
Of course, Filipino dishes are the star. And a lot of them are mostly meat dishes. Most Filipinos would eat vegetables at their homes so if you want to throw a feast then make sure you serve meat dishes since most of them don’t really eat it at home.
Usually, the one who throws a feast use a whole pig or a whole goat for it. In my hometown in Ilocos, there is this famous meat dish called igado. It’s famous because it’s always served in celebrations. People would jokingly say “paigado ka met” (Serve us some igado then!) when there’s something to celebrate.
And, lumpiang shanghai or pork spring rolls would always be present. It is a crowd favorite. Pancit would always be served and if the family has more budget then there would be spaghetti too. Some parties would have desserts in a small plastic cup to make sure everyone would have an equal share.
Take-home food
Then after the feast, when there’s still some food left, the guests would sometimes pack those food to take home. The one who threw the feast would give them plastic bags to put the leftover food. It’s typical for Filipinos to bring home food in plastic container after a feast.
It would be a waste not to give food to take home especially when there’s too many food left. And Filipinos do not like the idea of wasting food.
Karaoke
Filipinos are singers. And even those who do not really have good voices confindently sing their hearts out during celebrations. A group of mama’s and aunties would sing old songs. And the group of tipsy dads and uncles would sing party songs. Some even dance waltz and so much more.
Gossips
Sometimes, the guests naturally divide themselves in groups. There would be a group of old ladies talking about their past experiences when they were younger. They would talk about who just died, who’s going to die soon and who’s still surprisingly alive.
There’d be group of middle-aged women, mostly mothers that would talk about gossps in town. They’d talk about any issues that’s been recently circulating. Sometimes you’d notice them talk in lower volume.
Then, the men would talk about random things. I don’t really listen to them but they’d probably talk about politics.
I hope you understood what I was saying. And some things aren’t really clear to you, then experience would be the best teacher. Our country are known for its wonderful, hospitable people.
And, if you’re a Filipino too, I hope I got all these things right. We may have different traditions since every region has unique ones.
I want to express my gratitude to @Talecharm, my new sponsor. Thank you for recognizing and appreciating my articles. I will do better to post more content ❣️ Thank you for the support.

Found Love in City Pop Music
Music makes our life better.
When you’re doing something, you’ll likely enjoy it more while you’re listening to music. When you’re not doing anything, you’ll feel more relaxed while listening to music.
Whatever you do, music can have a part of it too.
I really like listening to music. ***One of the best things I experience is finding a song I really like***. It’s like finding a rare gem in the rocky mines.
And once you find a song that gives you that special feeling, it will be hard to stop listening from it. Then maybe you’ll be like me, a person who keeps repeating the same songs over and over again for a day, a week, a month or more.
These days, I’ve been listening to this one genre of music called ***City Pop***. It’s a genre of music popular in Japan before. It’s the kind of songs that you’ll love to listen while you’re driving in the night road. It just helps me feel at ease but it feels enjoyable too.
***These are some of the songs I’ve found love with.***
Stay With Me – Miki Matsubara
It is a song about asking the person you love to stay but that person already wants to leave. It’s such a sad song but you can’t help but get attached to it.
This song makes you feel nostalgic. Even when you do not have someone you want to ask to stay, it makes you feel that something is missing. It makes you long for something and you’re not really sure what that is. I hope you also like listening to this song.
**Midnight Pretenders – Tomoko** Aran
This song is such a masterpiece. I’ve read some posts saying its about a woman getting cheated on but still wanting the man who fooled her. That’s really painful and the song makes you feel that sadness.
Yet, I can imagine myself walking in the city at night with the lights and signs illuminating my path while listening to this song. It is City Pop for a reason.
I was really glad I found it. Thanks to the Out of Time by The Weeknd. He sampled this song and it’s also such a masterpiece. I’ve been listening to it for days. I liked one cover of this song by xoos. Hope you give it a chance!
Plastic Love – Mariya Takeuchi
Plastic love is a song about a person who only thinks that love is a game. It’s just fake love and shouldn’t be taken seriously. So, if you’re a player, maybe you’ll like this.
But, this is such a chill song. It feels good listening to this while busy doing something. It kinda relaxes me but that’s just my opinion. Maybe try it too?
September – Mariya Takeuchi
It’s a livelier song than Plastic Love and I kind of like it more. It’s a fun song to listen too. But, its lyrics are a little sad so don’t be fooled by the beat. As I understand the meaning of the lyrics, I came to a realization that it’s actually about cheating. The person caught her love meeting someone but she just chooses to hide. It’s such a wonderful song but with sad lyrics. Yet, that adds more spice to the song.
Let me add more to the list:
***Fantasy - Meiko Nakahara***
***Flyday Chinatown - Yasuha***
As you can see, these songs are all Japanese (except for Out of Time which I mentioned). But, let’s not restrict ourselves with the language barrier. If we try to be more open to songs in another language, we’ll find so much treasure! There are so many beautiful Japanese songs in different genres. And, when you get to know the real meaning of the lyrics, you’ll be more amazed!
I wasn’t able to post the past days because I focused on my midterm exams. I’ll be more active now though. Good day everyone. Happy weekend!

Mini Q&A Session: What’s the weirdest thing you believed as a child?
04/25/2022
Do you know that in auditing, there is a procedure called inquiry wherein auditors would ask relevant people to obtain information? Asking people is really important because we can learn a lot of things.
That’s why I got interested on the question and answer article of @Rose.artsss and thought I should do it too!
***Here is my take of Q&A session. Let’s start!***
Do you have any weird or pointless talents?
I don’t know if you can call it a talent or a skill. But, I can touch my little finger using my index finger. I’ll show you how it is like.
I consider it as a talent because not many people can do it. I sometimes show this to my friends and they get really surprised about it. And ***it’s really amazing to be able to do things others cannot***.
What part of your body you can live without?
This is an easy question. I can live without my appendix. Well, I’ve been living without it for 8 years, after all. I was 13 years old when I had it removed because I was sick with appendicitis.
It was really hard at first because I felt so weak after the surgery. I had to go to school to take my exams. I don’t know what came to my mind to go to school after a week of my operations. I even joined a math contest.
But after all these years, I don’t really see that much difference before and after I had my appendix removed. Yet, ***it still reminds me to take care of my own body.*** We don’t want to lose any more body parts.
What’s the craziest thing you believed as a child?
When we were young, we were naïve and innocent. We almost believed everything those adults told us. And some of those adults fool us for fun and maybe to scare us from doing bad or dangerous things.
In my childhood, I remember getting told by my aunts that I shouldn’t eat the seeds of the fruit. The reason is the seed will go into a seedling and then it’ll turn into a tree on our stomach. I was always scared that a tree will grow inside me if I ate seeds.
But, thinking back, it was actually ridiculous. Now, whenever I accidentally eat the seeds, I don’t get worried anymore.
Will I also do that to children now that I have grown up? I’m not really sure but I’m not passing down that knowledge yet.
Have you ever imagined your own wedding?
This question is from @Rose.artsss article. And I want to answer it too.
I have never really imagined my wedding when I was a child like others do. I didn’t really see myself having my own family. In fact, my Plan A when I get older is to become that rich, single tita who is a strong, independent woman and Plan B is to have a family when I found the love of my life.
My Plan A was going well till I found the love of my life, my boyfriend. I am now starting to imagine a wedding I would like to have.
***I want to have a simple, intimate wedding.*** I would only like to invite my family and close friends. I haven’t really thought of a concept yet but I think a minimalistic concept would be really cute. I’m thinking of having a garden wedding.
I don’t want a grand wedding where we would splurge money. ***It is enough that we can share the moment with our loved ones who supported us throughout our relationship.***
So, I was planning to have a modest wedding gown that isn’t too expensive. Though, I think my boyfriend would agree that the food would have the biggest budget. Since we’ll only have few guests then it wouldn’t be too much if we’ll spend more on food. I kind of like to have a chocolate fountain for dessert and some baked goods like cookies, mini cakes and muffins.
But, we’ll make sure that we wouldn’t spend so much on the wedding because the most important of all is the marriage itself.
***It’s nice to plan about the wedding but it’s nicer to think what kind of marriage you would have.*** And, without much doubt, we will make sure that we’ll have a healthy marriage where we can both grow and be happy.
I hope you enjoyed this question and answer portion of mine! Feel free to do your own version.

Random This or That: What I Prefer More
Today is a rest day but that does not mean I should forego writing am article for my read.cash.
But I don’t really have much to talk about these days. I’m going to be busier these week since it’s our midterm week. Pray for me.
For today, let’s play another This or That game. I saw this template from @McJulez and thought it seemed fun.
With no more further ado, let’s start this simple game. Let’s see if we prefer the same things and maybe, for the same reasons too!
Coffee or Tea
Coffee is my choice in all parallel universe. I can’t live without coffee. It’s one of the things that keeps me alive and sane. As a college student, I need to sleep late so I can finish my school requirements. But, I’m a sleepyhead so I really to drink coffee to stay awake.
Though, I don’t only drink coffee when I need to. I prefer coffee because I really like it. I feel peaceful while I sip my coffee during mornings. ***It’s like a little self-care I do everyday.***
I like tea too but not the plain tea. I like milk tea and iced tea but not too much. Drinking too much milk tea can be unhealthy too. Coffee can be dangerous also because it’s a little acidic. Be careful.
Breakfast or Brunch
I don’t do brunch. I do breakfast. Most people don’t eat breakfast because they don’t have time or some because of health reasons. But, I like having breakfast because I’ll get hungry and get weak when I don’t.
I prefer a heavy breakfast then the next meals would be in smaller portions. ***Breakfast is the first meal of the day so it is important to be full so you’ll have a lot of energy.*** Breakfast meals are also suitable to my tastes. I like fried rice, toasted brea, and pancakes so much.
Savory or Sweet
This is a hard choice. But, after thinking, I like sweet more. I really love eating dessert. I can eat more of the dessert rather than the main meal itself.
***Desserts make you create more happy hormones so eating them really reduces your stress.*** I love a lot of dessert like sweet and creamy macaroni salad, mango graham cake, coffee jelly, halo-halo and ice cream. As of present, I’m really craving for the dark chocolate cake I ate last time.
Mountain or Beach
I’ve always liked mountains. Even though I haven’t gone to mountains that much, I much prefer it more than beaches that I have gone to countless times.
Beaches are just too hot. I love the sunsets on the beach. But, I dream of experiencing sunrises and sunsets on the mountains. I dream of having a little cottage house, surrounded by trees and filled with cool breeze. I prefer mountain not because I want to hike but because ***I want to experience a life away from the city and close to nature.***
**Movie or Series**
I like both but I like series more. I watch series more often than movies. I prefer being able to watch more scenes of a show that I really like.
I have read once that most people prefer to watch series than movies because in series, the story is divided in many parts. That way, we can absorb little by little the details of the story. Movies, however, are nonstop and continuous. You don’t really know where to stop when you have something to do. It can be very taxing watching long movies too.
***Series divides the story in episodes. It leaves us wanting more.*** You can also stop watching after an episode when you’re busy and continue after some time. And there are really a lot of amazing series these days.
That’s it everyone! It was really fun doing this and sharing a part of myself. I hope you find the time to do this too.

Bingo Game Introvert Edition: Have You Ever?
Introverts are everywhere. For many, introverts are people who are usually quiet and prefers to be alone. I think that is because introverts are people who are more comfortable with being with themselves and alone with their thoughts.
I consider myself an introvert. Do you consider yourself as such too?
Well then, let’s see by playing this little bingo game car.
***Have you ever? (Introvert Edition)***
Cancelled plans
I do cancel my own plans. Sometimes, I plan to go out for the day but later that day, I don’t want to go anymore. Just thinking about going out makes e tired already. People’s presence is kind of draining. Though, I’m not brave enough to cancel plans I made with other people.
Stayed indoors for the **day**
Yes, definitely. During the pandemic, this is an everyday thing. But, even before the pandemic, I’m already a homebody so the lockdowns did not really bore me that much. I love staying in my room and doing my own thing.
Avoided eye contact while talking to someone
When I’m talking with someone I barely know, I feel awkward so I can’t really look at them in the eye. But, I do try when I’m talking to someone I’m close with. It may also be uncomfortable to other person if you’re looking at them in the eye.
Excused yourself for some “Quiet **time**”
I like to have quiet time or my alone time. We all need to. So, don’t feel bad to be alone to enjoy your own peace. It helps you reduce some stress. For mental health, everything is understandable.
Ordered online to avoid going **outside**
This is me most of the time right now. Even those school supplies that I usually buy outside, I try to purchase them in online shops. It’s much cheaper and you don’t have to worry about talking to the shop clerk where can you find what you’re meaning to buy.
Snuck out of a party **early**
Even if I want to sometimes, I can’t. Most social gatherings I went to are with family friends so I’m there with my family. I can’t really snuck out or else I’ll get scolded. Though, what I do is that I go to a quiet place away from them and be peaceful.
Worn headphones in public
When I travel with public transportation, I wear my headphones. It feels like I have my own world even if I’m surrounded with people. But, if I’m with my friends and we’re hanging out, I don’t do it because it may seem rude.
Responded to conversations with a smile and a nod
I do. When my social battery runs out, I just politely respond but not with so much words. I also do this when I’m talking to people I don’t know or I’m not comfortable with.
Stayed up all night to finish reading a book
Of course. Back when I was obsessed with Wattpad stories, this is an easy thing. I have also binge-read Percy Jackson series. When a story gets interesting, it’s really hard to stop you know.
“Missed” a phone call
I sometimes deliberately not answer a phone call, especially when I just don’t have an energy for it. I also don’t like answering calls when it’s not really urgent and when I’m having my “me time”.
Lied that you “had other plans” to **get** out of a date
Sometimes, I tell my friends I have something to do at home so I won’t go with them when they plan to hang out. I don’t really have something to do. I just wanted to rest.
Hung out with just a small **circle** of friends
I literally only have small circle of friends. But, I have more than enough fun with them. I am comfortable with their presence. It’s also tiring when there’s too much people.
Spent majority of your evenings at **home**
I don’t really go out. Evenings are beautiful even when you’re inside your home. Though, I do still go to family/friend gatherings at night. I even went to some events before.
Changed your route to avoid a **crowd**
I avoid people I know on the street because I don’t know and I don’t want to make small talks. I’m doing it for our own sake. It would be really awkward. I also don’t like passing by crowds because I feel their gaze on me.
Texted or emailed someone when **they** asked you to call
I haven’t done this yet because no one really asks me to call. Except for my boyfriend but I love having calls with him.
Woken up early to enjoy the silence
I woke up at 4 AM sometimes because it’s more peaceful. Sometimes, I study during those times too.
Ended up binge-watching past midnight
I just did this recently when I was watching Bridgerton and I have done this countless times. I would do it again if I really like the show. One night sleep is a small sacrifice.
Napped for an entire **afternoon**
Tired college kids nap all the time when there’s an opportunity. And I’m a tired college kid.
Noticed you were **overthinking**
I sometimes overthink when I’m having an argument with my boyfriend. I always think he’ll get tired of me when I’m being too stubborn. I also overthink a lot before and after my exams and quizzes.
Had a deep, philosophical **conversation** with friend
When I have the energy, I do this. Back when my boyfriend and I were still getting to know each other, we had late night talks a lot. I also talk about life with some of my close friends when they tell me things about their life.
Hope you had fun! Maybe you should try this too.

Summer Tips: How to Beat the Heat
Summer is fun, isn’t it? The sunlight makes everything brighter. During the summer, you go to the beach and have fun.
But, summer is not fun when you’re cooped up at home having online classes. It’s boring and lifeless.
The worst of all is that the weather is so hot. Our country, Philippines is incredibly hot that you’ll keep sweating throughout the day.
The heat is so uncomfortable. I keep sweating during my classes because I have to wear shirts with sleeves. The supposedly cool air from fans become hot too. It’s like you’re being punished the whole day.
It’s like the heat is the one beating me and not the other way around.
***But, there are ways to beat the heat. Here are some ways I’m thinking:***
Eat cold foods and cool beverages
Summer would not be complete if you won’t be able to eat something iced. Switch from your usual hot coffees to iced ones. Put some ice on your chocolate drink or maybe make some choco shake.
And, of course, don’t forget ice cream! In our place, there are those who drive around and sell ice cream, but technically it’s more like a sorbet. Ice cream sundaes from fast food chains and convenience store is a treat too.
In our country, we have delicious treat called halo-halo. Filipino summer is not fun without being able to eat them. It’s a delicacy usually placed on a long plastic cup with the mixed sweet ingredients on the bottom half then filled with ice on the upper half. It’s creamed and sweetened with evaporated milk and sugar. On the bottom ingredients are usually sweetened bananas, sweet potatoes, sago’t gulaman, sweet beans, langka/ jackfruit, melon, pinipig and even coconut. It’s not a complete halo-halo without the ube halaya. Some make it more special by putting leche flan on it.
**Stay** **hydrated**
Drink water! Drink enough water everyday especially when it’s hot. Since you keep sweating, you need more liquids in your body. So, don’t be lazy. Get up and drink some water.
Wear light clothes
If possible, wear clothes with thinner fabric and with shorter sleeves. If appropriate, you can wear shorter shorts too. Since many of us are only at home, we can reduced the clothing we wear.
Swimming
Hot weather isn’t too bad when you have the chance to go to swimming pools and beaches. But, swimming during the day does not seem great for me. I may get sunburn. So, I would prefer night swimming. It’s been so long since I’ve done it.
Go to a cool place
If you’re in a city with not so much trees, the only cool place you can have are cafes and any air-conditioned public place. IF you can afford it then maybe you can lounge o those plaes.
But, if you’re in a place of you with lots of trees or you’re near in such places, you’re lucky. Such places are cooler with better breeze. Rather than caging yourself at home, find peace under the trees.
Take care of our nature
This hot weather serves as reminders that we need more trees to let our Earth breathe. Be part of the movement. That’s actually the best way to beat the heat. Do the ways that help our nature. This hot weather is the result of the destructive man-made activities.
We already know what to do because the call for protecting the environment has been here since time immemorial. We should start and maintain such actions.
I hope that we can all realize how much our home, Earth, has changed for the worse. And it is us, right now, that are reaping its effects.
Let’s make summer fun by making our Earth breathe better. Let’s make the sunlight not too bright that it burns.
Words of Affirmation: What to Say to the People You Love
Are you familiar with the five love languages? And do you know your love language? Maybe, you do. After all, love language is how we want to be loved and how we show our love.
They say, there are five languages, namely, words of affirmation, quality time, physical touch, acts of service and receiving gifts. One can have one, two, three or all of these love languages. We may want to be loved in all these ways.
But, maybe there is that one love language that matters the most. For me, it is words of affirmation.
Actions speak louder than words, people may say. But words give a different magic that makes love more wonderful. It’s a different feeling to be assured everyday with words in a world where people seem to carelessly throw them.
Maybe your loved ones also want the love that reassures them everyday with words. The people you love maybe an overt-thinker. They maybe anxious and insecure at times. Let’s give them the love they deserve even if we’re not that good with this kind of love language.
My boyfriend is not an expressive person but he was willing to learn to tell me the words I needed to hear. And I think everyone deserves that kind of effort.
We should always remind how much they mean to us. We should always assure them when they’re having doubts. Random conversations, deep talks and just consistent greetings and reminders for them means a lot
***Here are some words of affirmation that your lover may want to hear:***
Tell me anything. I’ll **always** listen
Some people have it hard to express themselves. This words of affirmation should always be reminded. You have to constantly tell them that you’re open for conversations, especially when you notice that they’re acting differently.
I’ll always be patient and **understanding**
Your loved one may be anxious that they always worry that they’re maybe annoying you. So, tell them, you’re not going to lose your temper over such things. It gives them reassurance that you won’t leave because of their flaws and imperfections. (Of course, there are still toxic traits that needs understanding and correction)
You’re not a burden/You’re **not** a bother
Sometimes, I get worried that I may be taking too much of my boyfriend’s time and attention and sometimes he feels that he’s bothering me too. But, no, I never felt that way. When they think, they’re feeling anxious about that, don’t get mad. Just tell them sincerely that they’ll never be a burden.
You’re **beautiful/pretty/cute/handsome**
Compliments are not overrated. Looks may not be everything but some people are insecure about their own looks. It’s nice to be told that you look good. So, tell them everyday, at random times, how beautiful they are. Maybe flex them in your social media account, too, from time to time (if they’re comfortable with it).
I’m proud of you/ You did **great**
No matter how much your loved one has achieved, they may still feel that they aren’t to doing enough. Tell them they did great after working hard for the day. Tell them you’re always proud of them because they’re an incredible person. Tell them they’re doing fine and they’ll be better.
You’re important. I’m grateful of **having** you in my life
Some people may find this cheesy but maybe your loved one does not. Tell them they mean so much in your life and you can’t imagine a life without them. Make them feel that they’re needed.
I appreciate everything you do. I **see** your efforts
Our loved ones do so much for us. They give us so much love and we should be grateful about it. Let them know. Say thank you even in the little things. It’s not settling for the bare minimum, it’s just telling them that what they’re doing is not put to waste. It inspires them to do more.
We will always know that our love is strong. But our loved ones, because of their anxieties and insecurities, may not see how much we feel for them. But, words can help them see it.
So, ***tell them, everyday, that you love them***. Be consistent with your every day greetings. Always tell them your ‘I love you’s’, ‘I miss you’s’ and ‘take care’s’.
***They won't know unless you tell them***. They won't feel assured if you're not consistent. The key in words of affirmation is consistency snd timing.

Let’s Fill Up A Get to Know Me Card!
04/19/2022
It’s been a month since I started writing in this platform. I’ve wrote countless of articles and shared it with countless people. I’ve been able to buy my needs for my school through the tips I received. Thanks to read.cash.
And also thanks to the people here in this platform. Everyone is so nice and welcoming.
This platform is a safe and comfortable place to share our thoughts and sentiments with people who are accepting and approachable.
I’m really grateful of being here as I was also able to interact with a lot of people. It would be more thrilling to know some things about you.
***Let’s start with simply filling up this Get to Know Me card***.
This kind reminds me of slam books when we were young. With this simple card, we’ll be able to get to know each other more.
And for now, I’ll start filling up my own too.
**Zodiac Sign**
My zodiac sign is **Cancer**. I’m actually interested in zodiac sign so I know my big three. I’m a Cancer sun, Aquarius Moon and an Aries rising. Pretty chaotic, right?
Cancers are known to be sensitive and I can attest to that. I easily get hurt by simple words but I just doesn’t show it. As our symbol is a crab, we’re also protective of ourselves. I am someone who likes to be in her comfort zone and I don’t really like putting myself in risky places. I always play safe.
We are known for prioritizing comfort. I like to make my own safe space and stay in it. This may seem like we’re making our own world that no one can enter. That may be right but cancers may look aloof at first but through time, they show their soft side.
My friends usually tell me I look really quiet and unapproachable but after they knew me, they realized I wasn’t like that at all!
In summary, I am an embodiment of my zodiac sign and I have almost all Cancer traits.
Favorite color
When I was young, my favorite color was yellow. Then I grew older and my favorite color changed to blue then gray. But as of now, my favorite is **pink**. I still like my past favorite colors, but I’m really attracted color pink right now.
Pink just so cute and I think I look good when I wear it. I’ve been buying a lot of pink-colored clothes and I’m controlling myself to buy more because I need other colors in my palette.
Favorite movie
It’s really hard to name a favorite movie. But I chose “**Love You To The Stars and Back**”, a Filipino film. I replayed this movie for how many times and I still like it every time.
I don’t want to spoil the movie. Just watch it. It’s really great. I actually like slow-burn romance love stories but this movie hits different. It makes you realize that love does not depend on the length of time you’ve been together. Love grows even in the shortest time as it depends more on how you spent that little time you have.
Celeb crush
I just recently watched Twenty-five Twenty-one and instead of having a crush on the leading man, I had a crush on the leading woman who is **Kim Tae-Ri**. Who wouldn’t?
She’s so beautiful. She’s so cute and small. She’s also a great actress. I just love her.
Favorite food
I like a lot of food but I really love **pasta**. I like to eat other foods too. I love bread and I’m not really choosy with spreads. I like peanut butter, cheese, mayonnaise and chocolate sandwiches. I also love ice cream, cakes, cookies and desserts in general.
But, when I go out, I usually order pasta because I really like it so much. And I recently found love on tonkatsu and I’ve been craving it for days.
**Place** to Visit
It’s my dream to visit **Japan** because I really love anime and manga. I hope to experience all seasons there and go to places found in my favorite anime series. I also like to experience their cuisine, their way of life and their festivals.
And that's it!
I’ve filled up my card! Maybe, you’ll want to try it too.
