I enjoyed putting these words of wisdom together to share with you. I chose the lotus flower as my lead image because I was told that these flowers bloom in the mud.
QUOTE #1 ♦ The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails. —William Arthur Ward
I am an optimist and a realist. Which one are you? If you're pessimist don't answer! LOL. This song might help you stop being a pessimist. “Everything Must Change”.
QUOTE #2 ♦ There is a great difference between worry and concern. A worried person sees a problem, and a concerned person solves a problem. —Harold Stephens
When I was growing up, my mother and many of the adults in my life who wanted to offer me guidance would constantly tell me: “Stop worrying! That don't change nothing.” Then I grew up and one of the most popular songs in my adult life is a Bobbly McFerrin song. “Don't Worry. Be Happy.” It was released in 1988. 30 years later the advice in that song is still relevant. 60 years later and the advice my elders gave me as a child is also still relevant.
I totally get it. NOW!!
But I must also add, based on my experience, even though being concerned is better than worrying, it doesn't always lead to a solution. Hey! I'm a realist! LOL.
QUOTE #3 ♦ Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment. —Barry LePatner
I TOTALLY DISAGREE! Good judgment comes from listening to the advice of the wise adults who did their best to direct your steps. When you found yourself in a situation where you had to make a judgment, their words came to you and it was those words that saved you from the experience which would have come from you exercising bad judgment.
You don't always have to screw things up in order for you to get things right. Young people, especially, need to understand this. Some mistakes can be avoided.
QUOTE #4 ♦ Somewhere on this globe, every ten seconds, there is a woman giving birth to a child. She must be found and stopped. —Sam Levenson
Having been blessed by God to give birth to 11 children – 5 boys, 6 girls … all I can say is: Hide and Seek was one of my favorite games. Nobody ever found me! LOL.
QUOTE # 5 ♦ If I only had a little humility, I’d be perfect. —Ted Turner
In 1979, Ted Turner entered a sailing competition in which several of the competitors were killed when an unexpected hurricane struck. He was lost at sea and many believed he had also died. But he was eventually found. Read his story. Ted Turner is described as an innovator and his name is mentioned when people ask the question “Who Made America? He survived a tragic event, against the odds. He is a successful businessman and a very wealthy man. He can afford his jokes. LOL.
QUOTE # 6 ♦ Before you go and criticize the younger generation, just remember who raised them. —Unknown Author
Ouch! I have to wonder if the author was a kid talking to his parents. LOL.
When you grow up and have your own children you can really appreciate this statement. You may have a different way of raising your child that's not the same as how your parents raised you. My friend's wife had just had their baby and his father came over to see the new addition to the family. He told his dad that he wasn't allowed to do certain things. His father balked with indignation at being instructed on how to handle his grandchild. His dad barked: “Boy! I raised you!” To which my friend replied back: “Yeah I know dad. I was there! Follow my rules or you don't get to hold the baby!”
