Laptop battery is one of the important components that must be considered in its use. Many laptop users claim that the battery drops and doesn't last long even though the laptop is only old.

How to treat the battery so that it lasts longer and can be used longer? Check out some of the tips that are mixed below.

1.Set battery power

In Windows there is a feature called power options. Through this feature you can adjust the laptop's power consumption. It's very easy. Click the Start button, then open Control Panel and then double click the Power Options icon. A dialog box will appear with the name Power Option Properties. Then select the Power Schemes tab. In the drop down menu there will be six options, namely Home/Office Desk, Portable/Laptop, Presentation, Always On, Minimal Power Management and Max Battery.

Try clicking one of the six options. The turn of monitor, hard disk, System standby or System hibernates settings will vary in time, depending on the option you choose.

If you want a longer battery life, it is recommended that you choose 'Max Battery'. This option will save battery power because it only requires minimal processor speed, such as reading documents or checking e-mail. Max Battery will affect the speed of the laptop in the sense that the laptop's performance will decrease.

2. Don't leave the device 'parked' on the laptop when it's not in use

Often laptop users leave a device plugged into their laptop — whether it's a digital camera cable, USB memory stick, PC card — even though the device is no longer in use. Make sure the device is unplugged from the laptop when not in use because it will drain battery power.

3. Pay attention to battery usage and charging

Don't be afraid to charge the battery. Charge it to 100 percent full. If the battery is running low, charge the battery again until it is full but don't wait for the battery to be completely empty. This will make the battery capacity to work well.

To note again, remove the battery from the laptop if you do not use the laptop for a long time. It would be better if the laptop is plugged directly into the adapter if indeed you are going to work for a long time.

4. Never use a charger carelessly.

If one day our laptop charger is damaged, never use a charger that is not compatible with our laptop. At least we should not use a charger from a laptop of a different brand, even if the situation is very emergency. Because each charger and battery has its own current and voltage character2. Using an incompatible charger can make your laptop battery quickly damaged and even hot and explode.

5. Don't take your laptop on your lap

Using a notebook on your lap can clog the ventilation holes of the laptop fan so that the laptop and battery heat up quickly. This is made worse by our body temperature which is also warm. Excessive heat causes our notebook battery cells to become damaged quickly.

6. Always check the cleanliness of the battery.

Always clean the dust on the battery contacts or existing metal2, do not let there be paper clips or other metals that can connect these contacts. If that happens, our laptop and battery may have a short circuit. Even a small amount of dust has the potential to corrode and rust the metal connector of the battery.

7. Do not use the notebook on the carpet or sofa or other soft places.

If you want to use a notebook in the above place, use a hard base. Because if not...then the laptop will experience overheating because there is a blockage of the ventilation holes by the carpet

8. Avoid shock, pressure or hard impact on the battery or laptop.

9. Do not put the laptop in a hot place, such as in the sun.

10. Do not use the laptop in a place that is too humid or wet.

The thing that is feared is the presence of water that can damage the battery circuits and our laptops. always keep our laptop from water or excessive heat.

11. Do not charge the battery for too long.

Make sure you remove your charger when the battery is full. Don't charge the battery for too long if it's full, let alone leave it to sleep, it can speed up the life of the cells in your notebook battery.

12. Read the manual carefully.

Some laptop brands have special rules regarding their products. Read your laptop manual book and make sure we use it as a guide for use.

13.Reduce brightness

Webuser.co.uk launches that the LCD will eat up battery power. Therefore, it is recommended that you reduce the brightness of the laptop to a minimum but still be comfortable to the eye.

14. Use 'Blank' screen savers

Screen savers can actually drain the battery. Therefore use the 'Blank' screen saver. To do this, right-click on the Desktop and select Properties. The Display Properties dialog box will appear, then select the Screen Saver tab. In the drop down menu there are many screen saver options, including 3D FlowerBox, 3D Flying Objects, 3D Text, Blank, Marquee and so on. You are advised to select 'Blank' and set the waiting time to 2 minutes and then click OK.

15.Reduce resolution

Another way to make the battery last longer is to reduce the screen resolution and the number of colors used in the laptop. To reduce it, you can right-click on the Windows Desktop and select Properties. In the Display Properties dialog box, select the Settings tab. Then set the resolution by dragging the slider to the left to reduce the resolution. Then on the drop down menu select a lower color quality, then click OK.

16.Turn off Wi-Fi

Active Wi-Fi, of course, eats up battery consumption. If you don't intend to use wireless access or the Internet, make sure the Wi-Fi is off so that the battery lasts longer.
