Why do I write about Greek beaches?

With these posts I try to provide some kind of service for tourists that want to visit Greece.

You know this year, with COVID-19, is a very strange year. Especially here in Greece. Greece is a country that runs mainly on tourism. Without tourists, blood will flow in the streets.

We, Greeks, are not sure what to expect this summer. Should we accept/invite tourists or not? Are we (possibly) going to import the virus here or are we going to starve (at least) this year. It is a real dilemma as many places (especially islands) have, so far, no COVID-19 cases at all.

Many locals here (with whom I have talked lately) say that they will avoid going to 'popular' touristic places this summer.

That is why I, for the moment, focus on describing beaches. The underlying idea is that by providing you accurate information about how a beach looks like, how to get there and what to expect there (accommodation) I want to make it easy for you to go and find those other 'gems' this country has to offer so that you will not flock all to the same (organised) beach resorts.

In this way I hope we can spread tourists all over the place and help in the 'social distancing'. So that we can, all, live our (summer) myth in Greece in a SAFE way!

With LOVE.
