• Lifestyle of People
Imagine sleeping peacefully one night, and then you wake up the next morning with the news that a pandemic is haunting the people. And then the usual daily routine you have started to change. Buying coffee to a vending machine near your house turned into making your own coffee because you are not allowed to go out. Eating lunch with your loved ones in a fast food restaurant, turned into cooking meals at home so you could still eat lunch together, but not outside. Your mom going to work early in the morning, but when the pandemic started, she has to stay at home for a month since a community quarantine was implemented. Your father, who should be in charge of the financial support lost his job and should stay at home too. The usual hugs and kisses you receive from your friends or in your neighborhood became exchanging of waves of hands. The usual laughter you share with your closest friends at their house, turned into laughing emojis in your group chats. The usual chitchats you are having with your neighbors everyday started to become through video calls or voice calls. The lifestyle of people really changed because of the pandemic and no one expected it that much. And everyone should go with the flow to these changes, too.
• The Government
One of the factors that is most affected during this crisis is the government. In this situation, people put their trust on how will the government put actions and solutions to this. The eyes of their people are looking directly to them since they are in the position of leading and making sure the safety of their people. They are the ones who will act upon the crisis and look for solutions that will make the situation bearable and better. They have the power to tell people what to do and not to, in order to lessen the burden of the crisis. They are the people who can help the country get through this pandemic by using their powers effectively, setting aside their own. They took an oath to lead and protect their country, so they must do it during these times.
They are affected by this crisis since they have to work. They have to do the things that officials and leaders should do. They should waste the votes and trust of people to them. They work on processing the budget needed for the operations of other departments and it made it difficult for them now since they have to process a lot of funds. They have to work all day by thinking on possible ways to lessen the funds needed or how to make money to afford the essentials needed to get through this virus. Also, they work on thinking of solutions to the problems in corruption during this pandemic too, since some politicians are taking advantage to the situation. The government is also affected on this crisis, because they are the people that leads and gives signal to the authorities and departments of what to do and not to.
• The Medical Workers
When an enemy is terrorists, soldiers and other armed forces protects the people. But, the enemy this time is a virus which takes us to our different type of warriors and soldiers – the medical workers. Doctors, nurses, and other kinds of medical workers are the heroes in this crisis. They are fighting a battle against an enemy that cannot be seen that makes their job more complicated and difficult. They have to deal with different patients with different diseases every day, and then now they have to deal with one virus spreading with hundreds and millions of people. They are fighting a battle no one could ever fought for but them.
But, aside from their jobs as medical workers being affected, their lives are affected too. People nowadays can easily discriminate a person just by their look or facial reactions. That is why medical workers are fighting a battle with an invisible enemy, and a battle against their own countrymen. They are being discriminated just because they work in a hospital or medical laboratories. It seems like people are being narrowminded with this matter and they only think about their own, without considering other’s feelings. We all know that the medical workers are tired now and exhausted and some are depressed. They are the people who takes care of us when we are sick, and now they are the soldiers on this battle. This is how the pandemic affects our medical workers.
• The Economy
When the pandemic hit, a community quarantine was implemented. Meaning to say, establishments are closed and jobs are stopped. The economy of the country was affected since there is no incoming funds. People paused from their works for a while which means the economy of the country paused too. The financial stability is affected, and the economy suddenly went down.
