The Satoshi at 1$
As human beings we have the ability to be able to build utopias, to project what we wish for the world of the future, a future that every day becomes present, I think that usually when we talk about cryptocurrencies and blockchain as alternative ways to build the economy of the future we always do it thinking about currencies as a whole.
When we think about cryptos we usually do not think about their cents, we think about their smallest units and both BTC and BCH have their smallest units called Satoshis in tribute to the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. Now, I ask you, do you know how many satoshis a Bitcoin has, yes, don't you, in case you don't know, don't worry because I will tell you right away but first, I want to make it very clear what a satoshi is, and for that let's do it through an analogy, personally I must say that I like analogies to try to understand things, well, a satoshi is to bitcoin what a penny is to a dollar.
We all know that a dollar has 100 cents, that is nothing more than a dollar can be divided 100 times, and run into the minimum expression of the dollar, a cent (0.01USD), now, a bitcoin is divisible by 100,000,000 (one hundred million) making the minimum expressible amount of BTC is 0.00d000001 Satoshi, in other words a bitcoin contains 100,000,000 (one hundred million) satoshis, obviously the value of satoshi will depend on the value of bitcoin.
At the time of writing this post the BTC has a value of 19,800 USD, that is to say that the minimum dollar expression 0.01 is equivalent to 0.0000005 BTC. Now that this matter is a little clearer, I want you to do with me, dear reader, an exercise of imagination.
Imagine for a moment that in the future the value of Bitcoin is such that each satoshi is equivalent to one dollar, i.e. one bitcoin would be equivalent to 100,000,000USD, it seems like a dream, but who says no? That is why I think that cryptocurrencies are an opportunity to create wealth, and also to be an innovative proposal to think about the economy. I think it is a utopian dream, but, it is all a possibility that dwells as just that, a possibility. I believe that for this to happen, financial education must be encouraged more and the conditions must be created for it to happen.
But that it's not just a BTC thing, but that BCH can also consolidate into a value high enough for each satoshi to possess great purchasing power. And thinking about it this way what makes me think about the importance of Holdear, obviously this is not financial advice, it's just an exercise in imagination.
