If you suffer from diabetes, stomach ulcers, bronchitis or suffer from high blood pressure, fig leaf tea is a real salvation.

Fig leaves are rich in antioxidants and fiber. Among others, they contain vitamins A, B1 and B2, as well as the minerals calcium, iron, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and sodium.

Although the fruits are not recommended for diabetics due to their high sugar levels, the fig leaf is very healthy and useful for this group of people because it helps regulate blood sugar levels.

The good news is that by consuming tea you can even prevent diabetes because you will increase your insulin sensitivity.

Fig leaves are especially recommended for problems of the urinary and digestive tract.

August is here and August is no better than a ripe fig plucked from a tree. Of course somewhere at sea. And you almost always have to climb a stone fence, avoid blackberries and other seams, step on your toes and stretch your hand… yes, figs are great! Fig leaves are also very useful - they were especially popular in art, where they were used mainly to cover the genitals.

The large green leaves of the fig tree have obviously been with us since creation, as their first users were already Adam and Eve. It is written in Genesis that they were created naked, but when they ate from the tree of knowledge, “both eyes were opened and they realized that they were naked. They sewed aprons from fig leaves. " Before that, of course, they ate the forbidden fruit of knowledge: the apple. This is also the reason that artists in paintings and statues sometimes replace fig leaves with apple leaves (as well as some other greenery, e.g. a strategically oriented branch of a nearby bush, comes in handy).

Fig leaves became especially popular after the infamous Council of Trent (ended in 1563). At that time, the church men decided that the depiction of nudity (or everything disgusting) in church art was forbidden. Fig leaves as well as various types of different 'covers' have been painted in many previous depictions, including Michelangelo's Last Judgment in the Sistine Chapel - here they covered up the disgusting nudity with some kind of trousers.

A good example of everything that happened after the council is also Masaccio's fresco in the church of Santa Maria del Carmine in Florence (1425). The fig leaves, which were subsequently painted for Adam and Eve, were not removed until they were restored in the 1980s.

Fig belongs to the coastal plants. The frost-resistant fig is a deciduous tree with large decorative leaves, which we pick large sweet purple fruits in July and August.Figs are planted in March or April in humus-rich, medium-heavy and well-drained soil. It will grow well and bear fruit even in colder areas, as it can withstand temperatures as low as -20 ° C. Of course, we need to find a suitable site for it, which should be sunny and in a leeward position, on the south or west side. It is also suitable for planting in large pots, which are placed on a sunny terrace or balcony. Figs are planted in March or April in humus-rich, medium-heavy and well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring and autumn with Plantella Organic fertilizer. We use Plantella Special Fruit Fertilizer for top-dressing during the growing season, from fruit formation to harvesting. We fertilize at least 3 times a season. The first crop will be harvested after three to four years. Propagated by cuttings. The fruits are useful for fresh nutrition. You can cook jam, marmalade or compote.

Thank for this advice.I didnt know about this nothing.I will try it if I need it.
