Bitcoin Cash: Financial Literacy for Teens

I'm a 20-year old college student, where saving and earning money is quite difficult for me. I've tried alot of part-time and summer jobs. It actually turned out well since I've earned thousands. But when I received my salary, money quickly disappeared like bubbles in a thin air.

Here in the Philippines, groceries and other things are very pricey and aside from paying the price of your items, a great amount of tax will always be added to your bill. So how will we teenagers save money? Sending payments, allowances and bills through remittance centers also costs us alot, we students will always have a short budget if things continue to work this way.

So last January 25, 2020 a friend from the community @sjbuendia introduced and explained how Bitcoin Cash works. He told me to read an article of @Read.Cash entitled as "Explanation of Bitcoin Cash for Normal People".

And there's this one phrase that caught my attention, it said, "It's the money that you can hide in your brain," which is actually true. This is one benefit of using Bitcoin Cash, since there will be no big amount of money in your purse, you will never be tempt to spend lavishly (and thieves won't get any money from you since you don't have it on hand).

Personally, using Bitcoin Cash would really work for me. Why? The very first thing is what I've said above, you will not be tempt to spend lavishy on to unnecessary things. Because you do not have any money on hand (but you do have on your mind). It will make you to discern more on what you really need.

Next, aside from keeping money. You can actually send money/remittances for a lower cost than the remittance centers. You can really encourage your parents to use BCH as well to save more money. In addition, there will be less work for you won't go out to the market, fill-up forms to send and receive money while waiting for a very long line.

Another thing is that, there are markets and coffee shops who accepts BTC for payments. It would be easier for students to eat and study in a comfortable coffee shop paying through Bitcoin Cash. Making groceries won't cost you to fall in line to ATM machines and withdraw money. You can simply scan the QR code and pay your bills. (There are shops, market places and coffee shops that accepts BCH). Hopefully, many stores here in PH would as well do that.

I hope stores in PH would do this too.

And lastly is you can earn money through writing and promoting Bitcoin Cash here in read.cash. Writing articles according to some research can minimize stress. You can voice out your thoughts and help yourself to control your feelings. Through writing articles here and earning BCH can actually help you provide your daily allowances and pay your fees in school.

May you help me spread this article and allow teens to read this. Since, this may help them to be more financially wise and literate. Saving and earning money for the future is very hard. At this age, investing and saving money is risky. But there would be no results if we won't try. This may teach us lifelong skills and lessons which we may use for our tomorrow's business.

Nice article! There's one more added benefit to learning about cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin Cash - you learn a lot about money in the process: how it works, where it comes from, what makes money useful, how can money be even created and controlled. I know I learned a lot during the years I've been interested in Bitcoin first and in Bitcoin Cash now.

It was very refreshing to read this. Yes, understanding why some cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin Cash are a great form of money by learning about economics and history of money etc would be very beneficial for you. I think learning about this at any age is beneficial, but I think you are very lucky to start being exposed to this at your age:) Looking forward to reading more of your articles and hearing your experiences at the Bitcoin Cash meetups!
