The beach is usually one of the first things that tourists think about when they visit La Union. The majority of visitors connect the town with surfing, swimming in the sun, and relaxing in the warm weather. Most visitors are unaware, however, that La Union is also a popular farm tour destination in the Philippines. The Gapuz Grapes Farm is one of La Union's best farms.
Danny Gapuz, the owner of a grape farm in Barangay Urayong, Bauang, La Union, began planting 100 cuttings of a sort of varietal named White Malaga and Black Ribier in the 1980s in his birthplace. Despite the fact that the farm has existed since that period, tourists only became aware of it in 2011 after the Gapuz Farm Facebook page was created.
The novelty of plucking grapes in the heat of the tropical sun attracts visitors.
