An appeal to Bitcoin Cash community

Turkey is experiencing a really bad backslide of financial and political freedoms. Random bank accounts being seized and frozen, people who speak against the Erdoğan regime swiftly silenced and jailed, tech workers and businessmen are unable to receive outside payments due to the PayPal ban:

https://techcrunch.com/2016/05/31/paypal-to-halt-operations-in-turkey-after-losing-license-impacts-hundreds-of-thousands/

and worse now, they are trying to prevent young people from leaving the country for better opportunities "to prevent brain drain".

I am a marketing agent that has been receiving payments in cryptocurrency for the last 2 years, having worked with various European and American agencies to design and promote ad banners. Bitcoin Cash has been my saving as I had 0 revenue from 2015 to 2017 due to the Paypal ban, losing pretty much the majority of my income.

I want to show my fellow Turks that there is a way out of this darkness, that we can indeed be free and connected to the outer world like every other country, that we don't have to be sabotaged and kept down by our government, that we can grow and expand, seize every opportunity we can get, participating in the world markets and speaking out our mind.

I want to place this banner on the Istanbul "e-5" highway, which is the most populous highway in Istanbul (population: 13 million), with nearly 480k cars passing daily. The banner includes a QR code to an article in Turkish that explains how Bitcoin Cash works and where to get it:

https://tr.cointelegraph.com/bitcoin-cash-for-beginners/how-to-buy-bitcoin-cash

The banner will be placed under a bridge where there are stop lights so plenty will get a chance to scan the QR and get on board.

The Banner
The Bridge

Turkey is one of the countries with highest cryptocurrency adoption rate:

I feel a huge opportunity here to capture the turkish market who is starved of international payments and free the population from the clutches of the Islamist government.

I have started a fundraiser which needs only 2 BCH to print and place the ad banner on the highway for 10 days. Even 1$ is enough as it will add up and make this possible. Thank you for your support!

EDIT: Thanks for your support! We received 0.2 BCH, 1.8 left to go.

This looks like a scam. You can read more at https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoincash/comments/j6hx1f/an_appeal_to_bitcoin_cash_community/

This guy has been asking money for different things, the week before it was asking money for onlyfans platform and this week is asking money about putting a banner on the bridge. There is a good possibility that this guy just wants to cheat people money and keep the money for himself. Becareful!

Update: It is a scam. This scammer is likely to be Jimmy Birer. He has been soliciting money under many different account names. Source: https://np.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/j77hmk/an_appeal_to_bitcoin_cash_community/

Who is Jimmy Birer? He also used multiple account names to scam money from the Bitcoin Cash community. https://np.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/93bl36/jimmy_birer_of_bit_reoncashflow_update_scammer/

I'm not seeing any conclusive proof and I am continuing my mentoring of OP until further notice. I would definitely like to see any proof tho.

OP seems to be a scammer, looking to take advantage of the kindness of the crypto community.

There had been multiple postings by OP, soliciting for money (not just in this but in other things like a BSV ourfans platform).

Update: I have good reason to believe that this scammer is jimmy birer (of course he's not using his real name in this post). He came into a discord group bragging about looking to scam money from the Bitcoin Cash community. I would want to do a screenshot but he was banned from that discord and the messages were removed together with the ban. https://np.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/93bl36/jimmy_birer_of_bit_reoncashflow_update_scammer/

How convenient.

Can you give us your reasons? Up to this point you just seem like a really crazy person making connections between things with no reason to make them.

If I put up the banner and post a video of it, will you apologize in public?

I also like how every evidence you give seems to magically be deleted "discord message got deleted, reddit thread got deleted" you must have really bad luck.

Thanks for coming to read.cash, writing this proposal and posting it!

I am your first subscriber.

I am looking for someone to work with in Turkey on things like this but I am not completely convinced by this particular tactic.

Hmm that would be a shame. We had a good conversation recently where it seemed to me like he knew what he was talking about.

"We had a good conversation recently where it seemed to me like he knew what he was talking about." - Sounds like Jimmy Birer. He was a scammer who scammed another BCH supporter and it was a large amount too.

There had been multiple postings by OP, soliciting for money (not just in this but in other things like a BSV ourfans platform). A legit person would not need to solicit money under different account names.

I feel like your case is circumstantial. That said, my approach to new people is to work with them one on one and get some results before giving money or publicly supporting them. I am working with this person and have asked them to disengage with reddit until they have reached a milestone with their project.

Sounds good and smart, as long as you make sure you don't send any funds over until actual proven results.

I never do. I have developed a process for onboarding new teammates and have honed it over 2.5 years. At least 200 people have initiated the process.
