Joined ListNerds a week ago and to my big surprise this is hidden treasure. I have sent 3 emails for now. My fist email didn't get verified since I sent it to only 100 members. My second was sent to 1200 members and did get verified. I was amazed to learn I got 140 ListNerds tokens for it. That translates to 210 Hive or $95. You read that right :) I'm waiting my third email to get verified and it will since I got score 30 and 20 is needed. I have finally reached level 45 in Raising Star, something I really wanted to achieve fast from my beginnings of playing. The reason for this is off course a chance to do Acoustic Tent missions. Those give great rewards, between 500 and 2038 Starbits per mission. In average that's just above 1200 Starbits per mission. One Acoustic Tent mission lasts 250 minutes, so in theory I can do 5 of them per day. The journey to level 45 was hard because I wanted up there as fastest as possible. I figured the right way to do it is to do only Music Lessons missions since every one of them brings 120 XP and takes only 40% of energy. It takes one hour to complete so basically I can do over 1000 XP per day. That translates to 1 new level every 2 days. The problem with this approach is I didn't get any tokens. Hard to resist, right? On the bright side of the plan was plenty of skills points I'll accumulate for the future use. I think my choice was good. Right now I have (as image below shows) total of 3062 skills points and only 2100 ego points. What I did to prepare is to buy as many guitar NFTs as I could. This now allows me to gain skills rewards between 9 and 18 for every Guitar Lesson I do. Next for me is to do as many Acoustic Tent and Record a Demo missions and slowly get to level 55 where Local Mini Tour Support mission waits, new milestone :) Raising Star is for now my best earning Hive engine game and I hope it'll stay that way. Mixing trains with time travel is always a winning combination :) That's why Train of the Century game hit me right away as soon as I learned about it few days ago. Immediately I knew this is the game I want to get involved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AtE54HpXBM https://play.trains.cards/ But being frugal crypto enthusiast (I invest or spend only what I earn) makes me think harder about jumping into new play2earn games when there are starting NFTs necessary for playing. Luckily I had some tokens available. Another startup factor to Century Train game is present, it's not a simple clicker game, there is a lot of strategy involved from choosing the right Locomotive, appropriate Conductor but also Rail Car and Commodity. These are four basic NFTs you need to start playing and to start earning in-game token Tocium. Btw Tocium is tradable at Alcor exchange and current price is 1 Wax = 482 Tocium tokens. https://wax.alcor.exchange/swap?output=TOCIUM-toc.century&input=WAX-eosio.token My choice for Locomotive was The Big Boy. It's one of 3 Common Locomotives (read cheapest). The price was 0.85 wax or $0.12 at the time. There are also 3 Uncommon Locomotives, 3 Rare ones, 2 Epic, 2 Legendary and 2 Mythic. There is only one Mythic The Heritage Locomotive on AtomicHub right now and it price is $2900. This image above actually shows my locomotive after upgrade. Basic NFT is Iron class with specific speed, max distance and hauling power. Every locomotive can be upgraded to steel class, carbon weave and tungsten class. Each higher class gives better NFT attributes. My Conductor is Tommy two-pair. It's level 2 conductor indicated by two gears in right bottom corner of the card. Every conductor comes with build-in perk and Tommy's perk is luck at 5%. Wiki says about this perk: "You'll have a higher chance of encountering an NPC when claiming your Tocium reward after a rail run. This perk is represented by a clover icon." NPC stands for non-player character. Sometimes you'll meet these characters and they give you an item or reveal a game secret. I have already encounter The Stranger few times and I got AMPs from him. There are two more NFTs needed to start the game + some Tocium token for buying fuel. Rail Car and Commodity NFTs. Combination of these two cards is important. Every station on map has different needs in commodities. Amount of Tocium earned depends on these values. If a station needs more gas, liquid or ore and you provide it you will earn more tokens per run. One thing to remember is station commodity needs are not static values, they change in time, so you can't actually find best place on map where ore is needed (for example) and run your train in circle to maximize your profit. There's a little bit more strategy involved here but that makes this game really fun. So my choice for Rail Car was Open Top Hopper and Wood Chips for Commodity NFT. Every train run can earn you somewhere between 10 and 35 Tocium with this setup. Also for every run you spend some tokens (between 6 and 10) for fuel. The rest is profit you can spend to upgrade your locomotive, buy fuel, add another rail car etc. Some stations also act as stacking hubs where you can stake your locomotive or conductor if you can't run the train for some reason. This is just scratching the surface, Train of the Century is under heavy development all the time and the best thing is devs are delivering everything from roadmap on time and more. Second Locomotive #NFT in my wallet for Century Train #cryptogame This one from AtomicHub is Steel Class (upgraded) not Iron and have higher speed, haul and distance. However I still use The Big Boy since I also upgraded it to Steel for 1000 Tocium tokens. Problem was you can't upgrade Locomotive if it is equipped. Very addictive game. Luckily Splinterlands community is awesome and whenever I'm stuck there is someone willing to help and give advice in right direction. This battle I wanted to post about is a small milestone for me because it allowed me to move up to Bronze II League and now I can also earn some sweet DEC token for my playing, which is nice bonus. My enemy have chosen Obsidian Summoner for this battle and I did Kelya Frendul. It's always hard to fight Unicorn Mustang + Goblin Psychic combination and my first thoughts were that I have no chance here. My only hope was that my Feasting Seaweed will get the Goblin on time. **Game Setup** This setup is newer for me, recently I would never use Feasting Seaweed but lately I found this card to be very useful in some situations. Serpent of Eld as Tank for me, Unicorn Mustang for my enemy. Take a look at the image for the rest of the game setup. Enemy choice for the game is common: Failed Summoner, Khmer Princess, Goblin Psychic and Regal Periton. My cards are Deeplurker, Merdaali Guardian, Scavo Hireling and Feasting Seaweed. **Round 1** The start was promising since my Deeplurker hit and destroyed Khmer Princess giving me advantage at the beginning of the game. Also my Seaweed immediately hit the Goblin and reduced his health to only 1. Goblin did his job to heal the Unicorn, though. Things were looking good for now. **Round 2** It started by Regal Periton killed my tank. But than another luck, my Seaweed hit again the Goblin, destroying it and in that moment I knew this game is mine :) **Round 3 and 4** Battle continued now in familiar form when Goblin is out of the game, everything is predictable. You can't go wrong with two healers, Merdaali Guardian card which heals the tank and Scavo Hireling which restores armor. That's how I kept my Deeplurker alive and even stronger. **Game Finale** It took some time to end the game. The battle lasted until Round 8 but the result was already known since my healers were safe in the second row. In the end I didn't lose any more cards.
