Russia has declared cryptocurrency legal after president Vladimir Putin signed the bill recognizing cryptocurrencies as a type of property.

The bill defines cryptocurrency as a means of savings and investments but not as a means of payment.

The bill also allows cryptoexchanges to legally buy, sell and facilitate asset exchange after registering with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
