One Of My Mother's Ornament Plant

Good morning to all, today's the christmas eve already, lol, what's for the noche buena? We here, guess will cook lumpiang shanghai and fried chicken only, lol, merry christmas to all :)

This is one of my mother's plant here, i found it to be beautiful so this is the result of it, had took that photos this morning and learned that it's one of the so-called ornament plant and also considered as a herbal plant for the benefits it has, before thought or knew that it's just a regular and plain plant, lol, but i was wrong.

This ornament plant's called Mayana in Filipino and it's Common Name as well. With the Scientific name of Coleus blumei Benth, in English, it's called Painted Nettle.

It's usually cultivated as ornament, has acer rubrum leaves which are dotched or colored with mostly purple. Some leaf colors are yellow, green, red, pink and sometimes blue but the most common's purple and that's what my mother has and planted here. It's leaves gave the attractive color that gives people the idea to display it's varieties in their houses, which was my mother does, lol

It grows fast and healthy in humid places. It doesn't like to be under the sunlight for too much or for too long as it's leaves dry up, just a little bit of sunlight exposure in the morning can make it's color more contrast and bright and a morning and evening sprinkling of water in it is enough to make it grow nicely and beautifully.

Just like many or other plants, it also has a benefits in it aside from being ornament plant or a display to houses and below's the benefits we can get from this plant:
