Good evening to all, this day or this morning actually was Ash Wednesday and My Mother got it while me, still sleeping that time when she got it and was so sleepy so i didn't got it too. The pictures i used and uploaded here are from Google and the source of this article of mine here today are from www.catholic.org

What Is Ash Wednesday?

It is one of the most popular and important Holy Days in the Liturgical Calendar.

The start or opens of Lent, a season of Fasting and Prayer.

Takes place 46 days before Easter Sunday, and is chiefly observed by Catholics, although many other Christians observe it too.

Comes from the ancient Jewish Tradition of Penance and Fasting. The practice that includes the wearing of Ashes on the head. The Ashes symbolize the dust from which God made us. As the Priest applies the Ashes to a Person's forehead, he speaks the words:

" Remember, that you are dust, and to dust you shall return. "

Alternatively, the Priest may speak this other words,

" Repent and believe in the Gospel. "

Ashes also symbolize Grief, in this case, Grief that we have sinned and caused division from God.

Writings from the 2nd-Century Church, refers it to the wearing of Ashes as a sign of Penance.

The Ashes are made from blessed palm branches, taken from the previous year's Palm Sunday Mass.

It's important to remember that Ash Wednesday is a day of Penitential Prayer and Fasting.

Ash Wednesday marks the start or beginning of the Season of Lent. It's a Season of Penance, Reflection, and Fasting which prepares us for Christ's Resurrection on Easter Sunday, through which we attain redemption.

Following the example of the Ninevites, who did Penance in Sackcloth and Ashes, our foreheads are marked with Ashes to humble our Hearts and reminds us that Life passes away on Earth. We remember this when we are told.

" Remember, Man is Dust, and unto Dust you shall return. "

Ashes are a symbol of Penance made sacramental by the blessing of the Church, and they help us develop a spirit of Humility and Sacrifice.

How The Ashes Are Made?

The Ashes are made from the blessed palms that was used in the Palm Sunday celebration of the previous year. The Ashes are christened with Holy Water and are scented by exposure to incense.

While the Ashes symbolize Penance and Contrition, they are also a reminder that God is gracious and merciful to those who call on Him with repentant hearts. His divine mercy is of utmost importance during the Season of Lent, and the Church calls on us to seek that mercy during the entire Lenten Season with Reflection, Prayer and Penance.

Lenten Season had already started this morning and a little sad that i didn't had my forehead be marked by the Ashes. Holy Weeks are now just in corner or started already and this day also marks the 2nd year anniversary of Me and My KJF but guess just like last year, we won't be celebrating it just also like this Valentines Day, lol, but i'm getting and starting to get used with it.

This Lenten Season or Holy Week, we all are going to Pray, Remember God especially Jesus Christ and do Fasting as well and won't also be eating any kinds of meat again but just fish, bread and vegetable again in reminder or in memory of Jesus Christ's Gospel.

So, did you had got your foreheads be marked by Ashes this morning? Maybe next year, i'm going to have my forehead be mark by Ashes so i can feel again how is it to be celebrating the Lenten Season or the Holy Week. Good evening once again and dinner time for me now, let's eat po, lol. God bless us all and remember that God is good all the time, All the time, God is good 🙂😊😇🙏
