Online shopping

Have you tried shopping online? What e-commerce platform do you usually use? Have you encountered problems from buying online? 

Because of the pandemic, the demand for online shopping has been tripled. Most of us relied on shopping online because of the fear of going to the mall and contracting the virus. Online shopping has been very helpful to us during our present situation. 

Recently, I checked out some of the items that was on my shopping cart. I ordered green tea which I have been ordering online for quite some time. I used to buy it in our nearby supermarket before but it was always out of stock. Good thing that there is someone selling it online for the same price though I just have to add for the shipping fee. 

Next that was on my list was a small sewing machine. My mom has been wanting this for so long because she used to sew my dad's underwears by hand. His briefs are already phased out for a long time. He likes the fabric of it and can't find something similar to that in the department store and even online. He would just ask my mom to change the garter when it is already loose. Now my mom wouldn't have a hard time in sewing. I asked my dad to pay for the sewing machine. LOL. Since it will be mostly his things that will be sewn. 

Next that I bought were a couple of sports bra and a panty for me. I tried to order a different one from what I have ordered 2 years ago because my mom will be buying the same underwears that I am currently using. I just bought one so I would know if it will fit me or not. 

I ordered the items last March 09 and by March 11, all my orders arrived but in differrent time. First that we received was the sewing machine. After receiving and sanitizing it, we tested it out. I felt like I was back in grade school because I am using a sewing machine again. I was able to figure out how it works after a few mistakes. I will still need to know how to wind a bobby pin because I have forgotten about it already. After a few trial and errors, I was able to sew my underwears and then my dad carrying some shirt and shorts went up to me and my mom and ask us to repair his clothes. LOL. Those are just house clothes but it can actually pass as a rag but he still wants us to repair it. I also have some house clothes that can be used as a rag but I still like to use them. 

Then after a few hours, we got my green tea and lastly my undergarments. The sports bra that I have got was a free size. I know that I shouldn't have bought it in the first place knowing that I have a heavy upper body built but I was just hoping that it would fit me. I got 2 because one for me and the other for my mom. Just by looking at it, my mom didn't try it on. It fits me though the pads are too small for my boop. I can remove them but I have to unstitch a part the bra. I felt like I have 3 boops as the pads kept of going to the middle. LOL. It was very uncomfortable for me. The panty was an XL size and it has a really nice fabric but the only problem is it only fits one of my leg. LOL. 

I gave both the sports bra and the panty to our house helper. She has a medium built and everything fits her perfectly. Now I have to look for another sportsbra and panty and I hope that it will fit me. 

These are just some of the common problems that majority of us will encounter when buying online. Well there are some that would complain but if you are going to read the description and the ratings, it is already written what you will be getting. I remember one of my college schoolmate who just lives a few streets away from us, sent me a link or video of a buyer showing their dismay over the phone that they ordered in one e-commerce platform. When they opened the package, the phone was already on. They were complaining that the new model of iPhone that they bought was fake and for the price of I think less than Php1,000, they were saying that they were scammed. 

Who in the right mind would sell a new model of iPhone for around $20? When they showed it to the video, it was actually on but of course it was a dummy phone for display. It is a non-working dummy phone. They didn't show where they bought it but I am sure that the name and the description of the product is that it is a dummy phone. 

But there are also some sellers who wouldn't check first their items before sending it. I have received some items years ago where the zipper of the bag was already broken or the bra was missing one strap. I tried to send it back to the seller but it only cost me more than the refund because of the shipping. 

Shopping online has its own pros and cons. But even if we are not in pandemic right now, I would still be shopping online because there are some things that I find more affordable. It is so easy and sometimes hassle free. Saves us time and money from going to the place where we want to buy such a thing. It is also thanks to this platforms that we get to see other items that we don't usually see in the mall like some local sellers. 

There are still some items on my shopping cart that I haven't checked out because I am still weighing whether to buy it or not. Again, needs versus wants. But there are also some that I really need but I still can't buy because it costs more tha my budget. I have to save for that before it runs out as they only have 2 stocks left. Shopping online is very addicting. We should only buy what we think is needed. Happy shopping!
