The national flag of Malaysia was designed by an architect named Mohamed Hamzah. The stripes were based on the flag of Majapahit while the crescent and star were based on the flag of Johor.

The Malaysian Flag has a blue canton on the upper left side of the flag which has a crescent and a 14-pointed star. This star is known as the Bintang Persekutuan or the Federal Star.

Originally, it only had thirteen stripes with alternate red and white color and thirteen points on the star to respresent the equality of the 13 states and federal territories. The 14 stripe and point was added to represent the federal government in general and unity of the states and its territories.

The Crescent represents Islam as the country's official religion.

It is an honor to write an article about the Flag of Malaysia afters years since I last been there. Stay safe everyone.
