I have not been to Greece but it is one of the places I am dying to go to. I love hiking and you can never see a relaxing street to walk on other than Greece. Also an orophile, I have always wanted to visit Mount Olympus!
Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece located on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia. It has 52 peaks in total! Its highest peak is Mytikas which means "nose". This mountain has been mentioned multiplte times in Greek Mythology because this was known as the home of the Greek gods. This is where the twelve principal gods in mythology presided over the world before the time of Homer.
Homer is the author of the Odyssey and the Iliad who lived 1200 years before Christ.
It is not a surprise that stories grew around Mount Olympus. It rises to a height of 2,917 meters. Its peaks are snow-capped for 8 months of the year and hides in the clouds most of the time. Its lower slopes have beautiful caves and wonderful waterfalls where minor gods and other spirits lived.
Don't you find it interesting?
I hope to visit this place anytime soon after this tragic situation that we are in right now. This place is number one in my bucketlist. Please stay safe everyone.
