When Love is Gone

Today, I had a heart to heart talk to a family close to us. I got too emotional because they are like sisters to me and I could not help but shed some tears while hearing their story.

It's about their sister who got married 3-4 years ago. She got lucky to have been migrated to Canada right after she graduated and when she got married, she was able to brought with her, her husband. They are blessed with a pretty daughter, very smart and loving one.

We all thought that they are living the best life as husband and wife based on their posts in social media. They looked like a perfect family, sharing and caring for one another. They were able to buy their own house just last year, then new car and the latest models of Apple products.

All along the wife had been trying to fix their marriage, understanding and analyzing what could have been the missing link why their marriage is suffering. She took a month off from work. She tried to be the best housewife who serves her husband and she became the submissive one just to save their relationship and for their baby. But things got worst. The husband's mind was more on money, money, money, work, work and work. He does not even want their baby to be close to their relatives there.

They added, there was one time when her sister visited them with their kids. The daughter got too excited because finally she has friends to play with. She really had fun. But as soon as they went home, as soon as the door was closed, he hit the baby with a towel. The baby was shocked, got scared and cried. The wife confronted him but he denied and even said that it was not intentional.

Months past and the husband became more and more inconsiderate. The wife is working as a nurse in Canada. When she got home it is understandable that she is too tired especially when she have a night shift. When the husband want to go out like to a park or eat out, he would not even ask if the wife is okay or not. If he commands, the wife obeys; that's harsh!

Since the wife had been feeling helpless, unhappy, unease, she already told her siblings what's happening to her and their family. The family was hurt. That's their baby, the youngest of the 5 siblings and they treated her as their princess since she was young. They could not accept and ever imagined that their brother-in-law could do those things to her. How unrespectful, unbelievable.

The love is gone. The respect is gone. The only thread that is holding them is their baby. But if it's no longer healthy for them especially for the baby who at a very young age already experienced being hurt/hit by him then it's a different story. Who knows what more can he do next time.

That's why now, the siblings are finding ways so their sister and her daughter could go home and take a break away from her husband.

I am praying that God will make a way, an easy way for them to fix everything. To make these mother and daughter life comfortable, stress free and filled with love and happiness. They don't deserve to be treated that way.
