Unplanned Ilocos Norte Trip
A very tiring but fun and our tummy and heart is so full!
Yesterday morning while I was busy cleaning the house, my eldest sister told me and Yuri to get ready we're going somewhere. Without asking where, I immediately dressed-up Yuri, prepare her bag, get my vaccination card and off we go! Yuri was so happy because her friends will be joining us too!
Original plan was only to taste this most talked-about halo-halo in Currimao, Ilocos Norte.
Wonder why it's famous? Because it's filled with lots of ingredients and less ice! It has banana, sago, gelatin, corn, purple glutinous rice, leche flan, stick-o, buko, milk, sugar and with colorful sprinkles on top. And it only costs 30 pesos or less than a dollar.
After tasting it, I could say that it's just a normal halo-halo. It's not something I would want to visit again. I was looking for something more, like more ice to freshen me up this super hot season, pineapple crunch, sweet potato and more milk🙂.
While we were eating, my sister called and asked where are we because they will be visiting their in-laws in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte. We have bunch of relatives there too, so after hearing it, my eldest sister asked the group if they want to travel farther north to have lunch and without second thoughts we all agreed.
Along the way, we got confused by this jeep's signage. We don't know if they were testing our vocabulary or it's their family name. 🤔😁
We reached our destination before lunch time and our lunch was almost ready to be attacked. Yuri and friends had a few moment along the beach just for photo op. Our relatives place is also near the beach, like only few steps from their house.
They prepared fish sinigang, pinakbet and fried fish for us which we all enjoyed and the exciting part is, we were able to take out all the fried fish that we were not able to consume🙂.
While we were enjoying lunch, my younger sister asked if we want to join them in Patapat Bridge in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte (1-2 hours drive from Pasuquin). She said she had never been there and it's almost her birthday so it's her gift to self. Again, we all agreed and travelled even further😁.
Your eyes will feast with all these wind turbines that are strategically located in different parts of the province. They are really pleasing to the eyes.
After 2 hours, we finally reached our destination.
It was so gloomy and windy when we reached there at 4pm so after some solo and group shots we decided to go home. I felt tired after that I did not noticed I fell asleep and we were already in Paoay.
I got to enjoy taking photos of sunset too!
After a long trip, we finally reached home and was able to witness and capture this gorgeous full moon.
