The Inventor and The Artist

It all started from an advertisement in Facebook and he immediately got hooked of the artistry and how from a simple wood burn you can create something amazing. He further search for ways how to do it, like what are the tools and how much but he found out that it costs Php1500 or $30 for the wood burn set. So he looked for hacks on how to create your own wood burn tools and he just re-created or shall I say invented it🙂.

He bought syringes from the drugstore (good thing they didn't require prescription), electrical tape, papel de liha, old phone charger and twine to make it look presentable. It was a successful invention, just that he still needs to be extra careful when using it to avoid being electrified.

At the time he was practicing, it was days before Yuri's birthday so he thought of creating giveaways. He asked Yuri what she wanted and immediately she answered UNICORN! So he made 20 plus an extra for the birthday celebrant. From then on, every morning he would draw his design in a bond paper so he could just trace it in the wood before he would do the wood burning process. It was a long and challenging process because he needs to think of a nice concept, what to draw and what caption best fit for his artwork.

One super early morning, he woke up and drew this 'The Face of Jesus'. Yes, super early morning because according to him, this is his best time. He got more inspired, he is in his best element to draw and of course, no one can disturb him yet. It took him 3 hours to complete the drawing.

He was too excited that right after he drew it, he immediately traced it in the slab and after breakfast he started the wood burning process. It took him a whole day to finish this single piece, that loooong!!! He could not let a day passed without doing anything, he continuously creates design and makes sure that once he started something he will get it done the same day. That's why in his short vacation here in Ilocos, he made all these masterpieces and was able to sold 3 items already. One of which was already brought in the US.

My brother supported us in this new found endeavor and gave us a spot in Casa de Comida where we could display our items for free! I also created a page in Facebook (Wood Arts by Roy) where you can see all these designs and might want to purchase one🙂.

I am just so proud of the Inventor, the Artist and my Hubby. He is such a superhuman who could make all things seems so possible and easy. And I thank God for blessing him such a gift and I am praying that this new found love will be a hit as a business as well.
