Inspired by my daughter's drawing yesterday, might as well use it to create a pretty story from it.

Rainbow Dog and the Golden Girl

Once upon a time, there was this little girl named Golden Girl and her best friend pet, Rainbow. Gold as her mother call her, is a disabled young girl. Her right leg is thinner than her left, she could hardly walk and stand alone. Her parents was so worried because she is their only child and she is their most precious one, that's why they called her Golden Girl. It may sound weird but for them, that's the perfect name for her.

Growing up, Gold had been the apple of the eyes of their bully neighbors. No one would want to play with her because of her condition. Gold just smiled with them and stayed home until one day, her father came home with a surprise gift for Gold. It's a small puppy that he bought in the market. Her father thought that this could be the perfect friend for her daughter and they could be the very best friend!

Gold was hesitant at first because she never had a pet before and she's afraid that she might bite her. But this little puppy adores her immediately. She jumped into Gold's legs and started kissing her hands as if she had known her before. Oh, you're too cute! she said.

Father saw how happy Gold was with her gift. Then, mother came home with a basket filled with fruits and vegetables from the market. Then she heard a loud noise from Gold's room, she wondered and got worried, she immediately run to her room and to her surprise, Gold was rolling in her bed with her new friend.

Oh Gold, you made mother worried. I thought something bad happened to you! Mother said.

Mother, everything is fine! Meet my new friend Rainbow, father gave it to me. Isn't she cute? Gold asked mother.

Oh she could be cuter if you will give her a bath my dear, look her hair is a bit messy and I could smell that she hadn't taken a bath for years already! Come, let's clean Rainbow first so you can play all day, mother said smiling.

They all went to the well to have Rainbow freshen up. Oh my cute Rainbow, now you look fresher and adorable than earlier! Gold said then hugged Rainbow.

Since then, Gold's confidence seemed boosted. She was no longer the shy and timid girl who is contented to sit at their door while watching the kids her age play nearby. She and Rainbow would go out every morning for their morning walk. Bullies stopped from laughing at her and sometimes would invite her to play with them. Rainbow has been her lucky charm from then on, the then monotonous color of the Gold's life turned into a colorful one.

The end.

People around us can be very harmful, insensitive and offensive. If we allow them and their attitude to get into our head and into our nerves then we will surely lose. But if we use their attitude as our inspiration then it's a win-win situation for us.

We have different kinds of battle within ourselves, we have our own sets of insecurities that sometimes a simple joke could hit us. So what we do is try to overcome them, day by day; slowly. We find strength in other ways; like we divert our attention to plants, pets, books, social media, and many other tools to give us the confidence and courage that we need. It's not easy and we sometimes would just want to escape and not deal with them to avoid stress.

Those people in time will get tired and eventually stop. They will (hopefully) realize that what they are doing is not healthy anymore and that they are hurting someone. Just like what the story shared with us. Gold's life became more meaningful and healthy when people around her stopped from bullying her and accept her for what she is.

May we all find the Rainbow in our lives.

Thank you for reading and God bless us all.

Keep smiling. Keep inspiring.
